Abstract

Safety in the maritime sector, especially on Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessels, is a very crucial aspect in maintaining the sustainability of operations and preventing the potential risk of accidents at sea. One of the AHTS vessels that needs serious attention regarding safety aspects is the Peteka 5402 AHTS Ship. This study aims to understand and improve the effectiveness of the implementation of safety measures as a preventive measure on the ship. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method that produces descriptive data in the form of written words from oral interviews of crew members and observed behavior on the ship.

Abstract

The creation of literary works in various genres such as short stories, poetry and even novels cannot be separated from themes related to the development of technology, including internet technology. The novel genre literary work entitled Hi-Fi by Bayu Permana, published in 2019, contains several uses of internet technology in it which will be explained more complexly in this research. In this novel, internet technology as a whole is used as a means to explore information and knowledge in the learning process, as well as as a means of entertainment for playing games, watching streaming broadcasts, downloading videos, accessing social media, and so on. The method used in this research uses a hermeneutic approach, namely by analyzing in more depth several text fragments in the novel related to internet technology. Internet technology findings in the Hi-Fi novel include internet network technology, Wi-Fi, quota or data package, Mi-Fi, and hotspot.

Abstract

Central warehouse PT. X is a place to store materials needed for production. PT. X is a large company operating in the maritime and energy sectors. 5S work culture (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seikatsu, Shitsuke) is a work culture adopted from Japan which aims to create an orderly work environment and increase safety, efficiency and reduce non-value added activities. The implementation of the 5S+Safety culture is implemented according to the SOPs in the central warehouse, but the implementation is not optimal. Implementation of the 5S+Safety method in the PT warehouse. X is considered not optimal because only 2S (Seiketsu and Shitsuke) is running well while 4S (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Safety) is not running well. Warehouse employees are advised to apply the 5R checklist and carry out routine independent audits which will be supervised by the department head. Therefore, this research was conducted to evaluate the implementation of 5S+Safety in PT. X’s central warehouse. Evaluation results using the 5S+Safety method support increasing company productivity and performance.

Abstract

This research aims to look at the contribution of marine tourism to coastal communities in Indonesia, with a focus on a maritime sociology perspective. Marine tourism is a form of tourism related to activities and destinations centered around the sea or waters. This research utilizes maritime sociology as a relevant perspective for understanding the social life of coastal communities. Maritime sociology is applied as a study involving values, norms and social interactions that are formed through the connection of coastal communities with the sea. The research method uses a qualitative library study approach. Using a literature study approach, this research explores and analyzes various literature sources related to the social impacts of marine tourism in Indonesia's coastal areas. The research results show that (1) Increased social interaction between coastal communities and tourists, creating new dynamics in social relations. (2) The values ​​and norms of coastal communities are influenced, both through cultural exchange with tourists and through adaptation to new values. (3) The social structure is experiencing changes.

Abstract

Indonesia has enormous marine and fisheries potential because of its vast sea area. Human resources in managing fishery products have not maximized the potential of fishery products. Therefore, in order to maximize the potential of fishery products, quality human resources are needed. Since human resources are an important part of an organization, including in the Indonesian fisheries industry, human resource management and development is very important for the success of an organization. The method used is qualitative research method, more precisely literature research. The literature research process is carried out by reviewing the literature and analyzing the relevant topics combined. Literature search can utilize sources in the form of journals, books, dictionaries, documents, magazines and other sources without conducting field research. The results found that in optimizing in improving the performance and sustainability of the fisheries product management industry, it is important to optimize human resources. Many approaches can be used to improve operational efficiency. Increase efficiency in all stages of production, from fishing to distribution, with the adoption of advanced technology and automated equipment. Training and Skills Development ensures that employees have a good understanding of the latest practices and technologies through regular training that enhances their technical and managerial skills. Good Production Planning and Management; Energy and Resources Management; Use of wise energy and resource management practices to reduce operational costs Partners and Collaboration: Work closely with suppliers, distributors, and relevant institutions to improve supply chain efficiency and coordination. Abstract

With thousands of islands and long beaches, Indonesia is the largest archipelagic country in the world. With this geographical diversity, there is a lot of potential in the maritime sector, including abundant marine resources. Indonesia's maritime affairs greatly influence its history, culture and economic progress. There is no doubt that Indonesia's rich maritime resources must be utilized properly so that they can become a sustainable resource for the country's future. The method used is library research. Specific characteristics that are used as a basis for developing research knowledge include; This research is confronted directly with the data or text presented, not with field data or through eyewitnesses in the form of events, researchers only deal directly with sources that already exist in the library or ready-to-use data, as well as secondary data used. The results obtained are: To ensure the sustainability of its rich and important maritime sector, Indonesia can utilize its rich maritime traditions as capital to achieve sustainable economic growth and preserve the marine environment. Indonesia has the opportunity to build a generation that is aware of the importance of maintaining the sustainability of marine ecosystems and local wisdom as an important cultural heritage.

Abstract

The era of globalization has prompted countries, including Indonesia, to reconsider their defense capabilities in the face of increasingly complex threats. Indonesia's primary focus lies in the development of the maritime sector, given its strategic geographic position between the Pacific and Indian Oceans. Maritime security is crucial for smooth trade, considering that Indonesia is the world's second-largest producer of fish. The significant potential of marine resources requires attention to maritime security. Concurrently, globalization has altered the patterns and forms of threats, especially in international trade routes such as the Malacca Strait.This research employs the method of literature study to depict Indonesia's maritime conditions, infrastructure development, and the impact of globalization on maritime trade. The government's focus on enhancing logistical efficiency and infrastructure development aims to support industrial and trade growth. However, challenges persist, particularly in optimizing the management of marine resources and improving coordination among relevant institutions. Abstract

The research method used was a qualitative experiment, starting with taking broken piston rings No. 2 and 3, cutting the piston rings and testing them with hardness tests and composition tests carried out at the Indonesian State Maritime Polytechnic and Undip Central Java Integrated Lab. From the results of this research, it can be concluded that the used broken ring number 3 has the highest hardness of 140.26 HB and the used ring number 2 is 131.50 HB, so it can be concluded that the piston ring that has been used and exposed to high heat causes an increase in hardness and causes it to break. The composition test results showed that the carbon content of the new ring no. 2 was the highest at 15.30% and that in the used ring no. 2 was 12.08% because the compression ring was in direct contact with the compression chamber or in contact with heat. For the used number 3 piston ring, the carbon content is 10.43 and the new one is 11.02 because it is positioned below the compression ring and is not in direct contact with heat. for the used ring no.2, the Silicon (Si) content is low, namely 2.15% compared to the new one, 2.75% because the nature of Silicium is that it is resistant to high temperatures and as a compression ring compared to ring no.3, fracture occurs because there are no Manganese or Phosphate elements. which is wear resistant, strong and elastic. The microstructure of piston ring No. 2 is broken and the new two piston rings are less dense and have rough gaps. The broken piston ring structure of No. 3 and the new one looks a bit gray and has high levels of graphite iron and carbon elements.

Abstract

Indonesia as an archipelagic country has very high resources in the fisheries and marine sectors, where these resources become weapons in improving the welfare of the people in particular and become capital in national development patterns. However, poverty is still an icon for fishermen. The income of fishing fishermen can be said to be different from other types of business because the fishing business is uncertain, where the income fluctuates and speculates, which can lead to the growth of poverty. The aim to be achieved in this research is to reveal and analyze things that influence the income of capture fisheries fishermen. Meanwhile, the author took the explanatory descriptive method as the research method. Data collection came from 100 fishermen respondents with discussion of fishermen's profiles in the form of age, education, family responsibilities, experience and length of time at sea.

Abstract

In the world of the PLTU industry, the need for material, especially the need for the sapot process and conveyor repairs, occurs in the world of PLTU, which is installed on the conveyor construction and when connecting materials, different grades are often used and this often occurs in the field during the process of combining plates with different grades. on the sapote. and for installing the plate on the sappot, use grade A and the plate that is often used is the plate for the machine foundation with grade B on the sappot material using low carbon grade A steel. In this research report, welding is carried out and combined with grade A steel which is usually used for sappots. the conveyor is combined with low carbon grade B steel in the construction of the PLTU sapot. Where welding is carried out 3x why this needs to be done is because to know the characteristics of low carbon grade A steel and low carbon grade B steel, whether the characteristics are the same or not because they are used in When grade A steel material runs out in the industry, the testing process uses 3 tests, namely to determine NDT testing (Non Destructive, test), tensile testing, and micro testing for the testing process. (DonyPerdana and Ahmad Bazy Syarif, 2017).
