Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in learning outcomes of students who were taught using and not using Mind Map technique in topic of human digestive systemin in XI Grade of Science Program SMA Negeri 1 Panyabungan. Kind of this research is an experimen research. The population of the research is all of the student in XI Grade of Science Program SMA N 1 Panyabungan which included into 4 classes with total 154 students. Samples in this study were 2 classes consisting of 74 students with a cluster random sampling technique. No difference in learning outcomesin both these studies clas of research is evidenced through hypothesis testing using t-test with confidence level α = 0.05, where tcount ˂ ttable (0,54 ˂ 1.67), which means that the research in H0 be accepted and Ha is rejected. Concluded that there was no statistical difference in which class Mind Map (1 X = 66,40 ; SD = 12,48) and class without Mind Map (2 X = 64,95 ; SD = 10,35) in topic of human digestive system in XI IPA N 1 Panyabungan High School.

Abstract

Student creativity can be developed through entrepreneurial activities (bioentrepreneur) by utilizing herbal ingredients that have good health benefits. Student awareness for entrepreneurship is also supported by seeing the difficulty of getting jobs after graduating from university. This creativity development trains students in the urban farming entrepreneurship course by utilizing campus land in the city to remain entrepreneurs (preneurs), so that the perspective of students seeing job opportunities in the future is not looking for work but creating jobs. This study aims to describe comprehensively about fostering the entrepreneurial spirit of biology students (bioentrepreneurship). The research population was all 42 students in the biology education study program in semesters 4 and 6 of the FTIK UIN SYAHADA Padangsidimpuan, totaling 42 people. Sampling in this study was carried out by means of random sampling with a total sample of 20 people. This type of research is qualitative. The data collection technique was carried out by distributing questionnaires online using the Google form application. Data analysis techniques using qualitative analysis. The results showed an interest in entrepreneurship for students of the Tadris Biology Study Program at the State Islamic University of Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan based on an average score of 5 indicators, namely being at high criteria. The conclusion of the study is that there is a high interest in entrepreneurship after attending an urban farming entrepreneurship class. Recommendations aimed at students are expected to be able to apply entrepreneurial indicators and participate in entrepreneurial activities outside of the course with the aim of being able to foster interest in creating their own business.

Abstract

This study aims to develop learning media, determine the level of appropriateness of the media, and determine the level of effectiveness of learning media in the form of smartphone applications on the respiratory system material on students' mastery of concepts. This type of research is RnD (Research and Development) research with the Borg and Gall development model consisting of 10 steps, namely; 1) research and gathering information about constraints and needs in learning biology through questionnaires and teacher interviews; 2) media development planning based on preliminary research analysis supported by literature review; 3) media development using Unity software based on flowcharts, then validated by a team of experts and revised; 4) media testing on nine students and one teacher; 5) revised revisions based on suggestions; 6) limited field trials by 40 students and 4 teachers; 7) revisions based on suggestions; 8) large group test by 109 students; 9) revision based on suggestions. The research subjects were students and biology teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Panyabungan Selatan, SMA Negeri 3 Panyabungan, and SMA IT Alhusnayain. The data obtained are descriptive data (questionnaire and interview), qualitative data (Likert scale questionnaire), and quantitative data (multiple choice questions). The results showed that 98.2% of students stated that they needed learning media based on smartphone applications. Abstract

The Aloe vera plant contains enzymes, minerals, sugars, fatty acids, and also growth hormones, namely auxin and gibberellins. This research was conducted to determine the effect of Aloe vera gel on the growth of rose plants. This research was conducted by giving two different treatments in the form of watering rose plants with Aloe vera gel at several different concentrations and control as a reference. The treatment was carried out for 7 days and then the growth of the rose plants was observed every day. Processing of the data obtained was tested using descriptive analysis. The results showed that at a gel concentration of 10% the rose plants had very different growth and roots compared to the untreated rose plants.

Abstract

Biology require students to be able to think at a high level in understanding all concepts including material on the human reproductive system, must be able to unite or connect with other processes or systems that occur in the human body or connect with other biological concepts. This research and development aims to produce valid and reliable higher-order thinking skill instruments. So that it can be used as an alternative in measuring, training, and improving the ability to think at a high level in the human reproductive system. The method used in this research is (RD). This study’s instrument for high-level thinking skills in reproductive system material refers to the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate).

Abstract

Plant anatomy is a branch of Botany that studies more complex structures in plants and the functions of each structure. Plant anatomy is one of the courses that must be taken or attended by students of Biology at the State Islamic University of Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan in semester 4. The course in Plant anatomy studies the internal structure of plants, both regarding cells found in plants, plant tissues and also about organs in plants. This study aims to determine student learning motivation in the Plant Anatomy Course, Tadris Biology Study Program, UIN Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan in the Plant Anatomy Course. The population and sample in this Plant Anatomy study were 4th Semester Students of the Tadris Biology Study Program, using a sampling technique, namely data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of data analysis through observation amounted to 56.10%, interviews amounted to 57.25%, documentation amounted to 48.22%. From the existing data, it can be determined that the factors of motivation to learn to see student learning interest with the highest percentage, curiosity, responsibility and attitude.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of applying and the type of liquid organic fertilizer that is best used for cultivating spinach plants. The type of soil used at the research site was sandy loam soil. This research was carried out in one of the houses located at Jalan Raja inal siregar LK 3 Siparau Batunadua Julu sub-district, Padangsidempuan City from November 18 to December 18 2022.Red Spinach is a popular vegetable in Indonesia whose demand will increase every year to keep pace with people's needs. This study aims to determine the effect of POC on the growth and production of spinach plants and the concentration of POC that gives the best effect and the highest yield on the growth and production of red spinach plants. This research was conducted using a randomized block design with four treatments: V0 = without application of liquid organic fertilizer (control), V1 = 20 ml.plant-1 , V2 = 40 ml.plant-1 , and V3 = 60 ml plant-1 , each treatment was repeated four times. The results showed that liquid organic fertilizer from cow manure had an effect on the growth and production of red spinach plants where the POC concentration that gave the best results and the highest yield was 60 ml.plant-1.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship is the process of identifying, developing and implementing a vision. This vision can take the form of innovative ideas and sales ideas. Unemployment is a big problem in Indonesia that is still difficult to overcome because the rapid population growth is not matched by an increase in job opportunities. Companies are becoming more selective in recruiting new employees, but interest in entrepreneurship among Indonesia's young generation is still relatively low. In situations like this, the world of education has a responsibility to increase the interest of the younger generation in entrepreneurship. The increasing number of graduates will increase competition in looking for work and the lack of job opportunities will increase the number of unemployed. Being unemployed is something that many people don't want because apart from being detrimental to themselves, it is also not good for the community around them. The aim of this research is to determine the importance of entrepreneurship courses for biology study program students. This study uses a qualitative method. The data collection techniques are observation, interviews and documentation. The presence of entrepreneurship courses in universities can foster entrepreneurship by instilling knowledge and interest in entrepreneurship, increasing self-confidence and entrepreneurial skills, as well as increasing motivation to become a young entrepreneur.

Abstract

Natural Science is knowledge of nature and its contents obtained through scientific means and scientific attitudes. One of the natural sciences that places more emphasis on concepts that occur in everyday life and the surrounding environment is biology. The application of biological sciences can be realized well if you have a deep conceptual understanding. Biology subject matter that requires students' ability to find facts, concepts. The method used in this research is research and development (RD). this research was adapted from the development model used is the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). However, this research only reached the develop stage. The population in this study were all semester III students of Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidempuan State Islamic University with a sample of 24 students in the 2022/2023 academic year. The following is an explanation of each stage of the development model.

Abstract

Kombucha tea is a fermented drink which usually has a tea base. It is made from Kombucha starter culture (mushroom/scoby) tea with added sugar, and Kombucha from the previous bath (starter tea) which is the basic ingredient for making this kombucha tea. The taste of Kombucha itself is acidic, but the level of acidity depends on how long the fermentation takes. This research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method, with data collection and analysis carried out first, both written and verbal. In the midst of public anxiety, people don't know that the acid contained in kombucha does not have a bad influence on people with Magh and Gerd, especially, Kombucha contains various vitamins, including organic acid, acetic acid, 4-ethylphenol, ethyl acetate, antioxidants, Vitamins B and C. After research and analysis, it can be concluded that the substances contained in Kombucha tea are not dangerous for Magh and Gerd sufferers, on the contrary, Kombucha is one of the medicinal drinks consumed by Magh and Gerd sufferers.
