Abstract

Moss is a division of lower plants that is usually found in damp and dry places. Moss usually has a characteristic green color, is small in size and has various shapes. Based on ecology, mosses have an important relationship with the ecosystem, namely maintaining water balance and nutrient cycles, being an important habitat for other organisms, being able to act as bioindicators because mosses are more sensitive to climate change and are pioneer plants. Because moss has an important role in the environment and research has never been carried out and there is no data regarding the identification of moss in the UIN Syahada Padangsidimpuan area. So the aim of the research was to identify the moss that grows in the area. This research uses qualitative descriptive research using exploratory methods. The research results obtained were 15 species of moss consisting of 10 species of leaf moss, 3 species of liverwort and 2 species of lichenese

Abstract

Maubesi River is one of the rivers on Timor Island. Its clear water makes the river a source of water for the surrounding population. However, the condition of the river is unknown based on the presence of phytoplankton. Phytoplankton can be an indicator for these waters. This study aims to determine the effect of temperature, pH and DO on phytoplankton in these waters. The method used in determining the research station is purposive random sampling. The results of the study showed that the abundance of phytoplankton in the Maubesi River is relatively low, namely at 417 -1792 Ind / L and according to existing literature, based on its abundance, the Maubesi River is classified as Oligotrophic. Meanwhile, through simple linear regression analysis, the three environmental factors, namely Temperature, pH and DO, do not have a strong effect on the abundance of Phytoplankton, thus the abundance of Phytoplankton is influenced by other factors besides Temperature, pH and DO.

Abstract

The development of coding and artificial intelligence (AI) learning in Indonesia faces the challenge of digital infrastructure inequality, especially in 3T (underdeveloped, frontier, outermost) areas. This study aims to design and test the Box Ocean Ecosystem Sorting Media (BOESM) learning media, an unplugged media that teaches programming logic and AI concepts through marine ecosystem concept classification activities. The study employs a 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) involving elementary school teachers and students who lack adequate access to digital devices. Data collection techniques include field observation, interviews, questionnaires, expert validation, and analysis of pretests and posttests. BOESM utilizes concrete objects to simulate algorithmic thinking patterns (IF-THEN logic) by grouping marine components, including fish, sand, and plastic waste. The results of expert validation showed that the media was very feasible, and the field trial produced a moderate gain score (0.52), indicating an increase in students' understanding of computational thinking. As many as 92% of students reported enjoying learning without the use of digital devices. The study concluded that BOESM is effective in fostering algorithmic thinking and early AI literacy in technologically constrained environments and is an inclusive and cost-effective learning alternative.

Abstract

This study aims to see the effect of Jakaba liquid organic fertilizer in increasing the growth and resistance of broccoli plants ( Brassica oleracea L. ) to leaf pest attacks. The study used an experimental design with three treatment groups, namely the group given Jakaba fertilizer, the group given NPK fertilizer, and the control group (without fertilizer). The study was conducted in Hutarimbaru Village from March to May 2025. The parameters observed included plant height, number of leaves, flower formation, and intensity of leaf pest attacks. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis and ANOVA to determine significant differences between treatments. The results showed that Jakaba fertilizer increased the growth of broccoli plants and improved resistance to leaf pest attacks better than the control. NPK fertilizer also showed a significant increase in growth, but was not better in terms of pest resistance compared to Jakaba. This study concludes that Jakaba fertilizer can be an alternative environmentally friendly fertilizer in sustainable broccoli cultivation.

Abstract

The Internet as a revolutionary innovation in communication, has rapidly evolved since it's inception and plays a central role in human life. This research uses a qualitative method with a multidisciplinary approach, involving the analysis of scientific literature and case studies. The evolution of this technology reflects biological principles found in nature, such as selection, adaptation, and diversification. In the context of human evolution, the internet has become an important extension of cognitive and social abilities, enabling the rapid dissemination of information and creating interaction spaces that transcend geographical boundaries. Biological evolution enables the emergence of intelligence in living beings. On the internet, advancements in technology such as artificial intelligence (AI) are the result of a "digital evolution" driven by data and algorithms. Human behavior has also undergone significant transformation with the presence of the internet, including patterns of social interaction, learning habits, and decision-making processes. From a biological perspective, human behavior connected through the internet can be analyzed as a phenomenon of cultural evolution, where technology acts as a new environmental factor influencing the dynamics of adaptation. The combination of technological evolution, biological evolution, and human behavior forms a complex relationship, demonstrating how humans continuously integrate technology into their existence, changing the way they live, learn, and evolve. Keywords: Internet, Biology, Evolution, Behavior, Humans
