Abstract

Since 1980 we have experienced superfast and super-cataclysmic changes. Because it happened quietly, Barna from the United States called it quiet revolution. I agree with Barna "we cannot be effective if we continue to cling to the old ways, the old strategies, and the old assumptions". We are not effective if we maintain old ways, strategies, and assumptions. Then we can assume the church pastoral ministry is not effective if we continue to use our methods, strategies, and assumptions so far. The old method, for example, was limited to pastoral visits by church residents. The old strategy rested only on the ministry of the pastor's ecclesiastical officials as church leaders. Our theological assumption is a pastoral perspective like the metaphor of the Good Shepherd (John 10). John 10 reflects the shepherd-man as leader relationship with sheep-animals as people. Assuming shepherding, we are psychologically immersed in ancient Jewish culture and do not animate our ever-changing superfast and superfast changing culture. Given the background of such thinking in recent years I have exercised my minds and found 6 comprehensive foundations of ecclesiastical pastoral care as an equilateral 6 facets (hexagon), namely operational, biblical, ecclesiological, historical, cultural, and professional. This hexagonal comprehensive foundation helps us create ways, strategies, and assumptions of church pastoral ministry that are congruent with the context of life and effective today

Abstract

The role of pastoral ministers has an important position in solving every problem, for example in increasing the motivation of the Fathers to attend Sunday services in Sionggang Tengah. The disinterest of the Fathers in attending Sunday services is a theological issue to be discussed. By plunging directly into the field, seeing the situation that occurred. Abstract

This study describes the historical and theological influence of Martin Luther's Protestant reform movement on education in Finland. The Church's role in congregational catechisation, starting with education for priests and developing later for the congregation, had implications for the congregation's desire to learn new things. The thinking of Martin Luther and Philipp Melanchton also impacted on the ongoing reformation movement to think about congregational education. As a result, educational facilities ranging from schools, libraries and educational methods were thought of by reformers after Luther, in Finland. Until, the basic principles of Lutheran thought are also guided either consciously or unconsciously in modern Finnish education. This research is a qualitative research with data collection techniques through literature study. The results of the study show that there is a theological continuity in Finnish educational practices after Luther's Reformation Movement in 1517, with implications for congregational catechisation, growing interest in learning, the availability of educational facilities by the Church to develop modern educational methods in Finland. Abstract

Occultism is a belief in dark powers, spiritual forces outside of God's power. Some members of the community practice occultism, such as belief in the spirits of the dead, talismans believed to protect the body, and immunity skills passed down by ancestors, which cause their descendants to suffer from frequent manifestations and possessions by evil spirits. Some STT Abdi Sabda Medan students are still bound by occultism, affecting them physically, psychologically, and spiritually. Therefore, there is a need for counseling for healing and recovery from their occultism attachment. This paper examines the need for counseling through pastoral counseling theories. The author conducted qualitative research and gathered data by interviewing seven students who were previously bound by occultism and experienced manifestations. They were also served by the Abdi Sabda Medan deliverance ministry team. Of the seven students, five recovered completely, three of whom joined the deliverance team, two did not join, and one is not yet fully recovered, while another refused to release their occult attachment. The author also interviewed Jaharianson Saragih, the deliverance ministry team's mentor, to strengthen the field data. This study aimed to explore how pastoral counseling is conducted on STT Abdi Sabda Medan students bound by occultism.

Abstract

Terminal illness is a patient's condition that has reached the chronic stage and the doctor's diagnosis states that the patient can no longer recover. In reality, many terminal illness patients try to recover through the treatment process they follow. This research aims to discover the description and lives of terminal illness patients at the HKBP Hospital Balige and the factors that influence their lives. By using descriptive type qualitative research methods, it was found that the dynamics of the lives of terminal illness patients were at a fragile stage. A weak self-condition brings feelings of sadness and fear of death. There are two factors that influence the dynamics of the lives of terminal illness patients, namely internal factors, namely the decline in body quality and external influences of support from the family environment, community and relationship with God. The impact of pastoral care on the dynamics of life of terminal illness patients is a positive impact, patients are able to express their feelings. The negative impact is that patients have not accepted the conditions for traditional treatment and rarely receive medical treatment.
