Abstract

The balanced role of local communities in tourism development will arise in our minds when we discuss sustainable tourism. Dynamic tourism in Indonesia currently offers many strategic issues related to how to involve local communities to support its development, including adapting local values as an optimization strategy for Sapta Pesona Indonesia. On the other hand, local wisdom as cultural capital to support community resilience is very potential in maintaining the balance and sustainability of tourism development. This article aims to describe how the jerampah behavior in the Malay community of Sambas regency can be a potential cultural capital in supporting the internalization of the Sapta Pesona Indonesia program, especially for the hospitality value. A descriptive qualitative approach was used with the main data collection method in the form of interviews, observation, and analysis of secondary data obtained from news content on the tourism agenda in Temajuk Village and its surroundings from 2019 to 2020. It can be concluded that there is relevance between the jerampah behavior and the hospitality indicator in Sapta Pesona Indonesia. This cultural capital has also a social construction based on history. It is manifested in verbal and behavioral forms and relevant to be included in the internalization strategy of Sapta Pesona Indonesia based on local wisdom. Some Research by focusing on the internalization model of sapta pesona is needed for future research with similar themes.

Abstract

Tourism is one of the important aspects in terms of increasing income in an area as well as people's welfare. The presence of a well-managed tourism area will improve the welfare of the community. Indonesia has a region that is very rich in tourism, but it is unfortunate that in Indonesia there are still obstacles in the information system so that tourists have difficulty in finding tourist attractions and facilities located in the area. Although Indonesia already has a relatively comprehensive online search, Indonesia does not fully help with access, accommodation cost planning for traveling. This made us have the idea to create a My Journey application for travel planning and guidance . This application is very appropriate to be applied in this moment of the modern era because technological advancements require us to do everything through digital. Development of digital applications My Journey By using GPS and DFD (Data Flow Diagram) Design Method to facilitate the service of the application. The My Journey application is equipped with location routes and accommodation advice to get to tourist attractions, especially accommodation access using public transportation so that tourists can easily go to tourist attractions with the help of the My Journey application. In this, My Journey application will help the tourists in manage and arrange travel tour planning following the needs that are needed. In addition, this application also provides an online souvenir sales service for MSME development and ticket purchase as well as providing rental services for vehicles, equipment, and other things that support online in one application . With this application, it is expected that both local and international tourists will find it easy to get information about the tours visited, as well as a form of tourism promotion in Indonesia.

Abstract

Indigenous peoples take advantage of land/forest to fulfill their needs. However, in North Kalimantan, the forest functions are increasingly shifting because corporations intend to manage forest areas that reach 69% of the province’s total area, among others, for oil palm plantations. The development of oil palm plantations in North Kalimantan is supported by investments, especially from foreign countries, such as Singapore and Malaysia. Investment funds will influence the progress of oil palm plantations. Although some indigenous peoples have received legal regulations to recognize and protect rights, they still face some impacts, including climate change, environmental pollution, land grabbing, and criminalization. In this case, community resilience is one of the essential capabilities that indigenous peoples must possess, including in North Kalimantan. Indigenous peoples also need various capabilities to anticipate, reduce the impact, and overcome the consequences of corporate development in oil palm plantations. Thus, this article aims to analyze the resilience of indigenous peoples in North Kalimantan in facing investment pressures in oil palm plantations through document review in relevant sources and in-depth interviews with several stakeholders related to indigenous peoples in North Kalimantan. In addition, some previous research has not focused on the resilience of indigenous peoples in North Kalimantan in anticipating or dealing with investment developments that are detrimental to them. The results showed that indigenous people in North Kalimantan had performed resilience by mapping customary lands/territories, monitoring, reporting, and land certificates following legal regulations. Some indigenous people had also referred to the customary law through customary courts, imposing customary sanctions on their members and companies that did not comply with customary norms. Moreover, traditional leaders and institutions have shown an essential role in protecting forests and being the pioneers of agroecology-based economic development

Abstract

Complexity in the circular economy concept enforced the integration of disciplines and a holistic approach to engender the implementation. A breakdown to bring a circular economy project to a level of market presumably provides the contribution toward the circular economy prospect. Problem identification is a deficiency in consumer behavior discovery. The objective of the research is to discover the characteristics through demographic analysis as well as to assess the association of attitude and perception toward the circular economy objective. The case is specified in Germany since it introduced effective waste management regarding a cyclical process. The conceptual framework is a model of factors influencing decision-making issued by the European Commission and a model of the Tri-component attitude. The data analysis method is quantitative by adopting a method of Cross tabulation with Chi-Square and Structural Equation Modeling. The findings demonstrated low demand for a circular economy market, price and quality are the highest indicators while buying a product, old adulthood and female respondents tended to put more concern on waste issues, and an increase in willingness to spend more in finance on eco-friendly products positively would rise the intention of engaging in the social and environmental context. This observation is relevant for SDGs objectives.

Abstract

Nowadays, corporate social responsibility (CSR) is essential for each consumer goods company. The company needs to improve environmental concerns to the society and enhance the corporate reputation. CSR is a crucial program to the interests of its customers, shareholders, and the ecological consequences of the business activities. CSR can play an essential role in relationships, enhancing customers' trust. This study analyzes customer perception of CSR and trust. The conceptual framework in this study has two mediating variables, including corporate reputation and word of mouth on CSR on customer trust. A causal survey design and by using quantitative method. The respondents were 160 consumers who knew the CSR programs of a consumer goods company. Then, data analysis used structural equation modeling to test the hypotheses. CSR negatively affects customer trust. Then, CSR positively influences corporate reputation and word of mouth. Moreover, this research found that reputation has a positive impact on word of mouth and trust. On behalf, the mediating effect of importance and word of mouth also positively impacts CSR and consumer trust. Thus, reputation and word of mouth could enhance suppliers' power and connect buyers.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the big producers of agricultural products in the world. Agriculture sector plays an important role in the national economic development structure. However, the proportion of young farmers (ages 20 to 30 years old) is only 8% of the farmer population (BPS, 2019). Majority proportion comes from old people with age interval from 50 to 60 years old. (Taufik Leoni, 2020). Based on our case study in Purwokerto, the problem that is often found by old age farmers is the reduced ability to see and recognize plant diseases. Furthermore, they also face the difficulty to follow the development of agricultural science so that some of their knowledge is outdated. That encourages us to make a mobile application to identify plant disease and connect them with scientists. Since the majority of farmers in Purwokerto plant tomatoes, we limit this research for tomato disease only. After studying some related previous research, we found most of them used a deep structure of Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) to reach a high accuracy. However, since our aim is to make daily use technology for old people, a high complexity model does not fit for this case. Therefore, we proposed our own CNN model with less complexity but got 89% accuracy. For future works, we plan to develop it for the other plants and hope it will help all farmers to do quality control, especially for the old age farmers.

Abstract

One in every hundreds of deaths in Indonesia is caused by natural disasters. Data from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) shows that during 2020 there were 2,925 disaster events in Indonesia which resulted in 370 deaths, 39 missing and 536 injured. Disasters can certainly take many lives and can happen to children or adults. Moreover, children lack knowledge about disaster mitigation. Therefore, it is very important to foster “Disaster Mitigation Literacy” considering that Indonesia is a disaster-prone area. This research aims to design and develop a mobile application that focuses on increasing literacy and reducing the risk of natural disasters. This mobile application developer uses the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Develop, and Implement) model. In this application contains about handling disasters both before, during and after disasters. This application offers interesting illustrations so that children can easily learn the material with more fun. This application is expected to provide basic information about natural disaster mitigation for elementary school children. The result of the disaster mitigation literacy improvement application shows that this mobile application affects students understanding of natural disaster preparedness and also helps elementary school children to natural disaster issues and solving problems.
