Focus and Scope of Journal of Muhammadiyah University Prof. Dr. Hamka: Ekonomi Islam The focus and scope of the journal include: 1. To develop the emerging paradigm of Islamic economics on scientific lines through publishing original works in this field that pass its peer review process. 2. To promote dialogue and discussion on current issues in the fields of Islamic economics and finance among the international community of scholars. 3. To encourage empirical research on Islamic finance, takaful, zakah, awqaf and other Islamic institutions including case studies from Muslim economies. 4. Contemporary global economic issues viewed from an Islamic perspective. To publish book reviews of important works published in the field, including books in conventional economics, business and finance having some connection with Islamic economics and/or finance.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of zakat, infaq, shodaqoh (ZIS) on the growth of micro enterprises and mustahiq welfare at the Lazismu UHAMKA Service Office. This research uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques through interviews and observations. The respondents of the study consisted of mustahiq and the manager of the Lazismu UHAMKA service office. The results showed that the implementation of ZIS had a positive impact on the growth of mustahiq micro-enterprises and their welfare. However, there are still several obstacles in the implementation of the ZIS program, such as the lack of mustahiq awareness in the management of zakat, infaq, and shodaqoh received. Therefore, efforts are needed to increase mustahiq awareness and ZIS program management in order to have a greater impact on mustahiq and the community.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the decisions of employees at the Faculty of Economics and Business in carrying out professional zakat, including religiosity, altruism, motivation, knowledge and fintech. The data used in this study were primary data obtained from questionnaires and interviews. The method used is partial least squares (PLS). The population of this study were all employees of the Faculty of Economics at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, totaling 183 respondents, and the sample was 72 respondents. The results of this study indicate that the variables of religiosity, altruism, motivation, knowledge and fintech have a significant effect on employee tithe decisions. Adjusted R-square value of 0.894%. This means that the variables of religiosity, altruism, motivation, knowledge and fintech affect the decision to give professional zakat by 89%, while the remaining 11% is influenced by other variables outside the model examined. This research can be used as a reference in comparing the same research objects, especially regarding the analysis of factors that influence the decision to pay zakat, and as a reference to better understand people's behavior in their decision to pay zakat so that it can improve the performance of zakat institutions in collecting funds.

Abstract

Non-bank Islamic financial industry (IKNB Sharia) in Indonesia continues to increase very good. Visible IKNB growth seen in the number of Islamic sharia IKNB assets in 2010, 9333 billion rupiah in the year rose to 46 895 billion rupiah. With an average growth rate of 62.29%. Thus the development of sharia IKNB must be balanced with sufficient resources and qualified. OJK has made  efforts  in  improving  the  quality  of  human  resources  in  Islamic  IKNB  with  two  major strategies. This research uses descriptive qualitative limitations in this paper focused on the OJK in improving the human resources that exist IKNB Shari'ah. The need for the application of celestial management for human resources in IKNB sharia. The results of this paper that the OJK has set two strategies in an effort to improve the quality of human resources in IKNB sharia. Then the need for the application of celestial management for human resources in IKNB sharia to create good quality. Because IKNB sharia is a business institution that is inseparable from the rule of religion or spiritual aspect. Thus requiring an appropriate concept in improving the quality of its human resources.

Abstract

This paper discuss on inflation, unemployment and economic growth in Islamic State Nations. There are two types of Islamic state nations in this study, namely Islamic states that have adopted Islam as the ideological foundation and constitution (6 countries) and the other one is that Muslim- majority nation-states that have endorsed Islam as their state religion (14 countries). The Philips curve does exist in the countries as indicated by negative correlation between inflation rate and the rate of unemployment which was statistically significant, although the coefficent of determination was very small.  Multiple regression analysis which inflation and unemployment were independent variables and economic growth was dependent variable showed that there were not significant simultant negative influences of the rate of inflation and the rate of unemployment toward economic growth. But, partially both inflation and unemployment have significant negative impact on economic growth in Islamic countries.

Abstract

Many assets land owned Muhammadiyah untapped by Persyarikatan Muhammadiyah started at the level of the branches to the central level, when the assets of the land owned by the waqf faith professed by wakif to use educational facilities or social amenities more, then the assets of the land was put to good use, so that assets such land lots used by the community because of the land ownership are not yet using the name Persyarikatan but many are using personal names or on behalf of the chairman Persyarikatan and ownership are obvious, like any asset of land have a certificate of good certificate endowments as well as a certificate of non endowments. It also occurs in the scope of the Regional Chairman of Muhammadiyah Jambi. As this study include land assets and non endowments Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership within the scope of the Regional Chairman of Muhammadiyah Jambi. In addition, the need to be formulated is a status, certification of land endowments, non endowments land titling, land asset status is certified in Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership within the scope of the Regional Chairman of Muhammadiyah Jambi.The method used in this study is a survey method. Survey methods in research designed to obtain information about the status and symptoms during the study was conducted to describe the variable or about something in a condition. This research method, gives an overview of concrete empowerment existing land assets through inventory Jambi region. Therefore, this study method is designed to reveal the factual data based on information found at the time to survey the Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership in Jambi.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the factors that affect financial deepening in Indonesia. The variables used in this study is a Third Party Fund (DPK), Islamic Financing, Corporate Bonds, Sukuk to Financial Deepening in Indonesia. Analyses were performed using monthly time series data published by Bank Indonesia in the study period from January 2011 to December 2015.The analytical method used in this research is Ordinary Least Square (OLS). The resulting regression model showed that the variables Third Party Fund (DPK), Islamic Financing, Sukuk, Sukuk Corporation together have an influence on Financial Deepening in Indonesia. Partial, this research supports the Third Party Funds (TPF) positive and significant impact on the Financial Deepening, whereas in Islamic Financing does not affect the Financial Deepening. In addition the results of this study showed Corporate Sukuk and significant negative effect on the Financial Deepening, and for Sukuk which means partially positive and significant impact on the Financial Deepening in Indonesia.

Abstract

Takaful already known in the State Indonesia Takaful Company since its establishment in 1994 to meet  the  demand  for  insurance  services  is  increasingly  perceived  either  by  individuals  or businesses in Indonesia. Insurance is a financial means in the order of domestic life, both in the face of the fundamental risks or face the risk of property owned. This paper attempts to read and look at the opportunities and challenges of the factors Takaful is an external assessment of the condition of Takaful current and future picture that will affect the process of achieving the financial objectives of an institution of sharia. By reviewing and reading the situation will get the characteristics of strength and weakness analysis of Takaful is based on the strength of internal and external environments. This paper also discusses the opportunities and challenges of Islamic commercial insurance product innovation to appear innovative products and services that completely excavated from the basic concept of sharia and also illustrates some of the things that cause relatively low penetration of Islamic insurance market at the moment.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of CAR, NPF, ROA, ROE, FDR AND BOPO to GCG at Islamic banks the period 2010 - 2014. The aim of this study was to determine how the GCG influence on the financial performance of Islamic banks. The data used is secondary data obtained from the publication of the Annual Report of Islamic Banks and Annual Report GCG.Selection of the samples in this study using purposive sampling method and obtained 10 Islamic banks that match the criteria. The method used in this research is panel data regression analysis and found that the more appropriate model uses regression random effect model. From the results, the value of R-Square is 33.83%. Partially indicates that the variable CAR AND BOPO positive significant effect on the GCG with each regression coefficient of 2.146 and 2.654.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the impact of sharia competencies, Islamic compensation and Islamic Spiritual Intelligence of personal work performance at Bank Muamalat Branch Ternate. The data obtained in the research is primary data taken from questionnare were distributed to employees at Bank Muamalat Branch Ternate. Data analysis technique in this research using multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS version 16.0.The result of this research shows from all of three variables, Islamic spiritual intelligence is the only one that have significant effect on personal work performance of Bank Muamalat Branch Ternate

Abstract

Shariah Bank have the potency to become the first option for customers to run their transactional banking option. It was showed by the acceleration development and growth of Shariah Banking in Indonesia. Along with the growth of Shariah Banking, a real competition among the Syariah Bank doers is unavoidable. Therefore a bank has to do efforts to be the main player on its segment, and able to provide major resources for its customers and eventually it binds satisfaction and loyalty. In such thigh competition, information plays an important role to attract customers or society to make use of the provided by the bank. The information of any form delivered by every stakeholder related to banking business. Therefore the market share can be gained by promoting Syariah Banks to those floating customer though an attractive and appropriate way. By doing such promotion with persistent and sustain, the possibility of the 5 % of market share which targeted by BI could be reached.
