Abstract

Public service is one indicator of successful governance, especially at the district level, which deals directly with the community. The quality of public service is greatly influenced by the discipline of employees as the main implementers of service. This study aims to analyze employee discipline in improving public service at the Yaro District Office in Nabire Regency, taking into account the geographical conditions of the region, limited office facilities, and employee discipline issues. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The results show that employee discipline at the Yaro District Office is not yet optimal. This is indicated by low employee attendance, the district office often not operating during working hours, and weak employee compliance with work rules. In addition, the remote geographical location, weak supervision, and limited office facilities and infrastructure also contribute to low employee discipline and poor quality of public services. Therefore, consistent enforcement of employee discipline, firm and exemplary leadership, improvement of the service system, and adequate work facility support are needed to improve public services.

Abstract

The frequency of health insurance claims in corporate insurance systems continues to increase, making the understanding of case characteristics and cost determinants essential for effective health risk management. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of patients with acute respiratory infection (ARI) and to examine the relationship between age and health insurance claim costs, measured by total charges and approved costs. A quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design was applied using secondary data from 401 health insurance claims at PT XYZ, including 46 ARI cases. Data normality was assessed using the Shapiro–Wilk test, and bivariate analysis was conducted using Spearman’s rho correlation. The proportion of ARI cases accounted for 11.5% of all claims, with children representing the largest group of patients. The results indicate a significant negative correlation between age and total claim costs (r = −0.350; p = 0.017) as well as approved costs (r = −0.316; p = 0.032). These findings suggest that younger age groups, particularly children, tend to incur higher claim costs compared to older age groups. However, given the limited number of ARI cases, the results should be interpreted with caution and cannot be broadly generalized. Further studies with larger sample sizes and additional explanatory variables are recommended to strengthen the evidence base for health insurance risk management.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of Good Corporate Governance and Sustainability Reporting on firm value with profitability as a mediating variable in energy sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2020–2024 period. Using panel data from annual and sustainability reports, the study employs panel regression and mediation analysis to assess the direct and indirect relationships among the variables. The findings indicate that Good Corporate Governance and Sustainability Reporting are positively associated with profitability, suggesting that stronger governance mechanisms and sustainability disclosure contribute to improved financial performance. However, neither Good Corporate Governance nor Sustainability Reporting exerts a positive direct effect on firm value. Profitability also does not mediate the relationship between governance and sustainability practices and firm value, indicating that improvements in internal performance are not automatically translated into higher market valuation. These results imply that firm value in the energy sector is more strongly influenced by external market conditions and investors’ expectations regarding the sustainability of earnings than by governance quality and sustainability disclosure alone.

Abstract

This study examines the management of credit sales and the practices used to recognize uncollectible accounts in an Indonesian trading company. The research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of credit approval procedures, billing processes, and the treatment of doubtful receivables in supporting sound financial reporting and risk control. A qualitative case study approach is employed through interviews with 2 finance personnel and analysis of internal documents related to sales transactions, receivables administration, and write-off procedures. The findings indicate that structured credit screening and coordinated roles between sales and accounts receivable units are essential to mitigate default risk. However, the recognition of uncollectible accounts is still dominated by a direct write-off approach, which may reduce the timeliness and prudence of expense recognition. Strengthening credit policy, enhancing collection monitoring, and adopting a more anticipatory allowance-based approach are recommended to improve the reliability of financial information and the sustainability of credit sales operations.

Abstract

This study aims to examine community behavior in the development and management of protected forests in Pasir Tengah Village, Tanah Pinem District, Dairi Regency. The research employs a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach to explore community experiences and perspectives regarding protected forest policies and management practices. The research informants consist of local government officials and community members directly involved in forest management activities. Data were collected through literature review, field observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the community plays an active role in the planning and management of protected forests by utilizing natural resources in a limited, controlled, and sustainable manner. The study also highlights the crucial role of the government in ensuring effective supervision and implementing appropriate policies to prevent forest degradation and promote sustainable forest governance. These findings are expected to provide practical and theoretical contributions to improving protected forest management and enhancing community welfare through sustainable environmental conservation.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of information system quality on generation Z customer satisfaction on the use of TikTok Shop by MSMEs in Palopo City. The background of this research is based on the increasing use of digital platforms, especially TikTok Shop, as a transaction medium of interest to the younger generation. The method used in this research is quantitative with a simple linear regression approach, where data is obtained through distributing questionnaires to 123 generation Z respondents who have made transactions through TikTok Shop MSMEs. The results showed that the quality of information systems has a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction. This is evidenced by the significance value of <0.001 and the t-count value of 9.236> t-table. The coefficient of determination (R Square) value of 0.413 shows that the quality of the information system is able to explain 41.3% of the variation in customer satisfaction, while the remaining 58.7% is influenced by other variables outside the study.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of firm size and profitability on stock prices of companies included in the LQ45 listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2019-2023 period. The research employs a quantitative approach using secondary data obtained from annual financial statements and stock price reports. The sample was selected using purposive sampling criteria, resulting in panel data observations over five years. Multiple linear regression analysis was applied to test the hypotheses, preceded by classical assumption tests to ensure the validity of the model. The results indicate that firm size has a positive and statistically significant effect on stock prices, suggesting that larger companies tend to have higher market valuations. Profitability, measured by Return on Assets (ROA), also shows a positive and statistically significant effect on stock prices and demonstrates a stronger influence compared to firm size. The simultaneous test confirms that firm size and profitability jointly have a significant impact on stock prices. The coefficient of determination (R²) shows that 37.4% of the variation in stock prices can be explained by the two independent variables, while the remaining 62.6% is influenced by other factors outside the model. These findings imply that investors in the Indonesian capital market place greater emphasis on profitability performance rather than merely company scale when evaluating stocks, particularly during periods of economic disruption and recovery. The study contributes to empirical evidence on the determinants of stock prices in emerging markets and provides practical implications for corporate management in enhancing shareholder value.

Abstract

This study investigates the relationships among workload, social support, job stress, and turnover intention among Generation Z employees, with job stress examined as a mediating variable. Using a quantitative causal design, data were collected from 100 Generation Z employees and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS. The results indicate that workload has a positive and significant effect on job stress, while job stress exerts a strong positive influence on turnover intention. Social support significantly affects job stress but shows a negligible direct effect on turnover intention. Mediation analysis confirms that job stress significantly mediates the relationships between workload and turnover intention, as well as between social support and turnover intention, with partial mediation observed for workload and dominant mediation for social support. These findings highlight job stress as a key psychological mechanism linking work conditions to turnover intention. The study contributes to the literature by integrating job demands and social resources in explaining turnover intention among Generation Z employees and provides practical implications for employee retention strategies.

Abstract

This study examines the determinants of consumer purchase behavior in culinary micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Jakarta by focusing on the roles of product quality, price, and promotion. Employing a quantitative explanatory design, a cross-sectional survey was administered to consumers who had purchased from culinary MSMEs in Jakarta, and the data were analyzed using multiple linear regression to estimate both partial and simultaneous effects of the explanatory variables. The findings reveal that product quality, price, and promotion each exert a positive and statistically significant influence on consumer purchase behavior, with promotion demonstrating the strongest relative effect. These results indicate that promotional activities are effective in stimulating initial purchase, while sustained purchasing behavior depends on consistent product quality and perceived price fairness. The study offers managerial implications for culinary MSME owners in Jakarta to implement integrated marketing strategies that align quality management, value-based pricing, and promotional design to enhance consumer value perception and support business sustainability in a highly competitive and digitally mediated urban market.
