Abstract

Background: Modules have several advantages, such as being self-instructional, self-contained, standalone, adaptive, and user-friendly, making them valuable as learning media for parents. The Mindfulness Parenting Prevent Stunting (MPCS) i module developed in this study is an innovative effort to improve parenting quality by focusing on mindfulness in parenting, emotional awareness, and wise responses. It aims to strengthen the relationship between parents and children to support healthy growth and development, thereby helping to prevent stunting. Method: This study used a Research and Development (R&D) approach based on the ADDIE model, developed by Robert Maribe Branch in 1975, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Results: The module was assessed through expert validation and small-scale testing. It received an 84.46% rating from media experts (considered fairly valid with minor revisions), 100% from subject matter experts (very valid), and 94.67% from small-scale tests (very valid). Conclusion: The development of the MPCS module to improve parenting is worthwhile and recommended for use.

Abstract

Background: The increasing competition among private hospitals demands continuous improvements in healthcare service quality to meet the growing expectations of patients. Patient satisfaction increases if the hospital is able to provide quality, fast, empathetic, safe and comfortable medical services in accordance with patient expectations. Methods: This study aims to analyze the influence of service quality dimensions on outpatient satisfaction at a private hospital in Palembang City. A quantitative approach with a descriptive-analytic and cross-sectional design was applied, involving 100 respondents selected through purposive sampling, with inclusion criteria of being ≥18 years old and having received outpatient services. The research instrument was a SERVQUAL-based questionnaire. Results: The findings revealed that most respondents were female, of productive age, and had at least a senior high school education. The overall patient satisfaction rate was relatively high (86%). All dimensions of service quality showed a significant effect on satisfaction, with empathy emerging as the most dominant factor (OR = 101.4), significantly contributing to patients’ positive experiences. These results highlight the critical role of empathetic care in enhancing patient experience and satisfaction. Conclusion: The study concludes that service quality, particularly the empathy dimension, significantly influences outpatient satisfaction in the examined private hospital.

Abstract

Background: Nursing care standards are inherently linked to the nursing process, which forms the core responsibility of nurses in delivering patient care. This process includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The aim of this study is to assess nurses' knowledge and documentation practices related to the 3S components—SDKI, SLKI, and SIKI—at RS Prof. Dr. Tabrani Pekanbaru. Methods: This study employed a quantitative, descriptive research design using a questionnaire. The population consisted of all 40 nurses working at RS Prof. Dr. Tabrani Pekanbaru, and the entire nursing staff was included as the sample. Results: The findings revealed that only 4 respondents (10%) demonstrated good knowledge of SDKI, SIKI, and SLKI. A majority of 20 respondents (50%) had moderate knowledge, while 16 respondents (40%) showed limited understanding of nursing care based on SDKI, SIKI, and SLKI. Conclusion: Based on these results, it can be concluded that the nursing staff has not yet fully comprehended nursing care using the SDKI, SIKI, and SLKI standards. It is recommended that the institution conduct socialization and simulation activities to improve documentation practices aligned with these standards. This initiative is expected to better prepare nurses for applying these standards in healthcare facilities.

Abstract

Background : Bronchial asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease of the airways characterized by reversible airway obstruction. One of the most common nursing problems encountered during an acute asthma attack is ineffective airway clearance due to mucus hypersecretion and bronchospasm. Prompt and targeted nursing interventions are essential to prevent respiratory complications. Method : The design of this writing uses a descriptive method in the form of a case study. The Nursing Care Approach consists of assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation, and nursing documentation. Results : All fourth patients demonstrated significant clinical improvement after interventions. Respiratory rate decreased, wheezing was reduced, cough became more effective, and oxygen saturation improved to ≥ 95%. These outcomes indicate that the nursing interventions were successful in resolving the ineffective airway clearance problem. Conclusion : Prompt and appropriate nursing interventions are effective in managing ineffective airway clearance in patients with bronchial asthma. A combination of non-pharmacological techniques and collaborative therapies plays a crucial role in improving respiratory status in emergency care settings.

Abstract

Background: One common manifestation found in COPD patients is decreased oxygen saturation (hypoxemia), especially during episodes of shortness of breath (dyspnea). This condition not only worsens the patient's quality of life but also increases the risk of complications and mortality. In clinical practice, COPD patients often instinctively adopt a forward-leaning sitting posture with hands resting on the knees or a table, known as the tripod position. This position is believed to enhance ventilation efficiency by assisting accessory respiratory muscles such as the pectoralis major and minor to work more optimally, expanding the thoracic cavity, and reducing the workload on the diaphragm. This study aims to determine the effect of the tripod position on oxygen saturation in COPD patients Methods: This research used a pre-experimental, pretest-posttest one-group design. The sample consisted of 14 respondents selected through purposive sampling Data were collected using an observation sheet and standard operating procedures, measuring oxygen saturation with a pulse oximeter before and after the tripod position intervention. Results: Data analysis was conducted using the Paired Sample t-Test. The univariate results showed the mean oxygen saturation before the intervention (pretest) was 89.86%, and after the intervention (posttest), it increased to 92.93%. The bivariate statistical test showed a p-value of 0.001, where p < 0.05. Conclusion: It can be concluded that the tripod position significantly affects oxygen saturation in COPD patients on the 2nd floor of RSU Madina Bukittinggi in 2025. The tripod position has been proven to significantly increase oxygen saturation in COPD patients and is recommended as a simple, cost-effective, and non-pharmacological intervention for managing dyspnea. It can also be used as part of patient education by healthcare professionals.
