Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim to determine the level of understanding of students in junior high school about science subjects. This research uses descriptive and qualitative methods as its consideration. In this study the sample consisted of 30 students in class VIII G and 28 students in class VIII H. Data collection techniques with Pre-test and Post-test about students' thinking abilities on junior high school material. The research instrument consisted of 15 Pre-test items and 15 Post-test questions that had been adjusted using rubrics. This study presents the results of research on eighth grade students. The results of the study showed students who used the problem-solving method to all participants who used the lecture method. The level of critical thinking skills in class of students is normally distributed, so that it can be completed increased.

Abstract

This purpose of this research is developing mathematics teaching materials that present in comics for student in grade seventh of junior high school. Using teaching materials in the learning process is one way to help the students to be understand about learning materials. The teaching materials that provided for students must have three criterias are valid, practical, and effective. The type of this research is the Research and Development (R and D) and using the Plomp development model. This research consist of investigation phase, development or prototype phase, and assessment phase. The results of this development research are: (1) The validity of the teaching materials are valid with a percentage 90% on the material aspect and the material Design (2) practicality of teaching materials based on the response of teachers and students are Practice with percentage 83.5% (3) The effectivity of teaching materials are effective based on communication skills of students with a percentage of 73%.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze Science learning and the use of interactive multimedia in elementary school. The methods used are qualitative and quantitative. The population of teachers and elementary school students. Samples were taken randomly, set at 6 SDN in Pati District. The instruments used in this study are questionnaires and interview sheets. The results showed, interactive multimedia programs are needed, especially to support the abstract science learning, especially the human circulatory organ material. The desired Format is a multimedia integrated with a project-based learning model with an extra game of problems. To facilitate teachers and elementary school students need to develop interactive multimedia that includes project-based learning, project development, and project-report output. In addition, it is necessary to develop game problems that can show results as well as evaluation of the game problem. Game problems are tailored to the level of cognitive development, affective, and psychomotor of elementary school students.

Abstract

This research aims to increase student’s self confidence in XI SMA in mathematics learning by using guided discovery learning. This research is an action research. It is a colaboated research by researcher and teacher. This reasearch used Kemmis & Mc. Taggart model. The subject of this research is students of XI SMA. The instruments that used in this research are observation sheets, questionnaire, and written test. Form this research, it is shown that guided discovery learning that used worksheet to discover concept, can be used to increase student’s self confidence. It can be seen from the increase in the percentage of student’s who have very high self confidence categories and the increase of student’s self confidence mean after two cycle.
