Abstract

Probolinggo has the characteristics of the north coast of Java with large mangrove potential.  The total area of mangrove forest in Probolinggo is 476.6 ha with a research area of 75 ha covering Pilang, Ketapang, and Pesisir villages. This study aims to estimate the amount of mangrove carbon stock using Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) from sentinel-2 data as a vegetation index. A Sampling of data was carried out using a stratified random sampling method and the data collected included trunk diameter, tree height, and mangrove identification using Mongmang software. There were six mangrove species, Rhizophora apiculate, Rhizophora mucronata, Rhizophora stylosa, Avicennia marina, Avicennia alba, and Soneratia alba. The results of the estimated carbon stock are divided into 4 classes from low to high which are marked in green to red. The value of carbon stock ranged from 95.96 tons/ha to 7089.50 tons/ha.  The results obtained by Pilang Village have high biomass and carbon stock values marked in red on the map. The results of the accuracy-test using standard error estimation (SE) get a small accuracy result of 10%.

Abstract

Sarawak’s location in the equatorial region makes it an area rich in rainfall. Therefore, hydroelectric power generation facilities have been established in several hydrological basins in Sarawak, especially in the Kapit area. In particular, this must be used to improve the economic and social living standards of the people of Sarawak. This article analyzes the stratum changes of the Bakun Dam in Sarawak over the past 30 years (1985 to 2018) and proposes land use and land protection. This study uses Landsat 5 and Landsat 8 satellite data. Both of these data need to be pre-processed, such as radiometric measurement and atmospheric correction. In this study, the selected landscape index was used to classify the water body area, vegetation, and man-made buildings, namely the Modified Normalized Water Difference Index (MNDWI), the Normalized Water Difference Index (NDWI), and the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI). Apply overlay analysis to identify areas in the study area that have changed in the past 30 years. The results showed that MNDWI showed better results compared with other selected indicators. The study also found the biggest change from vegetation to water bodies in 30 years. The results showed that the most severely affected land cover was the formation of forests, which was reduced by 740km², and was mainly transferred to the water body of 669.9km², while the area of human habitation was 68.7 km². Land cover mapping is very important when providing information to those responsible for planning for sustainable development. In addition, land cover maps are also important for avoiding land-use conflicts for land use planning and land use regulations.

Abstract

Problems in the class indicate students are less active in learning. Students are more dominant in receiving one-way material. The low desire of students in learning participation in the form of asking, answering, or presenting. The outdoor study is the chosen learning method to overcome these problems. The outdoor study is useful for student knowledge, learning, and student motivation. This study aims to determine the effect of outdoor study on the activeness of high school geography students. This research is included in a quantitative methodology with a type of quasi experiment. The researcher determined purposely XI IIS 1 as the experimental class and XI IIS 2 as the control class. Research in Muhammadiyah 1 Babat High School, Lamongan Regency even semester 2015/2016 academic year. The data in this research were analyzed using descriptive quantitative with percentage. The results show that the application of outdoor study provides a change in student active; this can be seen from the category of the active per student in the experimental class, none of them get less active. The average overall active there is a difference of 12.43 from the control class. The average score of questions asked to answer, respond, and presentations of the experimental class are all higher than the control class

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in student interest in learning with the use of interactive multimedia in learning geography of students of class XI IPS SMAN 2 Mawasangka Tengah.  The subject of the research is XI IPS class students totaling 20 students. The type of research is classroom action research with research stages consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection.  Data was obtained from a questionnaire of learning interest and an observation sheet of learning activities. The results showed that students' interest in learning increased in each learning cycle implemented.  In cycle 1, the results of the learning interest questionnaire had an average value of 56 which showed that 7 students had low interest in learning, 8 students had moderate interest in learning, and 5 students had high interest.  After the implementation of the 2nd cycle action, students' scores have increased with an average score of 71 which shows 6 students have moderate interest and 14 students have high interest in learning.  Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of interactive multimedia in learning geography can increase the learning interest of students of class XI IPS SMA Negeri 2 Mawasangka Tengah.

Abstract

During the covid-19 pandemic, the learning outcomes of students in class X IPS SMA Negeri 1 Watubangga were still not optimal due to the learning media used, namely LKPD media, so that treatment was needed, namely by applying video-based learning media that could provide opportunities for students to better understand the material presented. This study aims to determine the application of video-based learning media is more effective than LKPD media on the subject of the hydrological cycle of class X social studies students at SMA Negeri 1 Watubangga. This research is an experimental research using nonequevalent control group design. The population of this study were X grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Watubangga with samples, namely X IPS 1 class as the experimental class and X IPS 3 class as the control class, the sample was taken by purposive sampling technique.  Data collection techniques used tests before and after treatment. Data analysis used normality test, homogeneity and normalized gain test. The results showed that video-based learning media was more effective than LKPD media. The results of the mann whitney hypothesis test Z value of -1.928 with a significant 0.05 = 0.05 then the hypothesis H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted with the conclusion that there is an average difference between the experimental class and the control class.  The results of the gain test in the control class amounted to 0.42 medium category with a percentage of 41.96 interpreted as less effective while in the experimental class amounted to 0.58 medium category with a percentage of 58.10 interpreted as quite effective. The conclusion of this study is that the increase in learning outcomes in the experimental class using video-based learning media is more influential and effective compared to the control class using LKPD media in the learning process.

Abstract

Land carrying capacity is an important thing that must be considered in regional development planning so that it is able to support sustainable land use activities. The increasing growth of new residential in Tanggetada District will trigger an increase in the need for land. This will indirectly reduce the area of productive land such as agricultural land to be converted into residential land. The aim of this research is to analyze the carrying capacity of residential land in the new campus area of Universitas Sembilanbelas November Kolaka, Tanggetada District, Kolaka Regency. The method used in this research is the quantitative descriptive method. Data analysis uses the Permenlh formula and Geometric formula. The results of this research show that the carrying capacity of settlements in Tanggetada District in 2021 is 134.9. These results indicate that the land in the new USN Kolaka campus area is still very capable of supporting settlements. The predicted carrying capacity of surface land in the USN Kolaka New Campus Area in Tanggetada District in 2030 is 68 and in 2040 it is 29 which indicates that the USN Kolaka new campus area is able to support residents to settle (build houses) in the area in 2030 and 2040 The predicted population in 2030 is 23,949 people and the predicted population in 2041 is 55,306 people.

Abstract

Natural damage creates an imbalance in the balance of the environment, many phenomena of environmental damage occur such as environmental damage such as environmental pollution, ecosystem damage and drought. This phenomenon still cannot be resolved and its impact affects human life. There is a need to create a sustainable environment in all levels of society, especially in rural areas. In the rural world, it appears that people lack awareness and environmentally friendly behavior. Therefore, the aim of this research is to describe the level of awareness and behavior of the community in the village. This research uses descriptive quantitative methods using interview techniques and data collection. The research results show that the level of public awareness is in the high category, but the level of environmentally friendly behavior of the public is in the medium category. These results show that society is already at the awareness stage where environmentally friendly behavior is important but its implementation is moderate, so that the awareness reflected in society is only theoretical and not in practice.
