Abstract

This study aims to optimize the implementation of the School Literacy Movement (GLS) through the use of a Smart Box Pancasila to improve the literacy skills of Grade I students at SDN Karangmojo 2. The research was conducted based on the low level of early literacy skills and the limited availability of attractive learning media that align with the developmental characteristics of young learners. This study employed a two-cycle Classroom Action Research (CAR) design with 16 students as research subjects. Data were collected through literacy tests, observation sheets, and documentation during learning activities. The findings indicate that the Smart Box which consists of colorful interactive panels, illustrated cards, Pancasila value pockets, and question panels significantly enhances students’ engagement, interest, and reading abilities. Improvements were evident in students’ ability to recognize letters, read simple words, understand pictures, and read short sentences. Initially, only a small number of students were able to read two-syllable words and interpret visual information; however, by the end of Cycle II, 100% of students could consistently recognize letters, 93.7% were able to read simple words, and 87.5% were able to read short sentences and explain the meaning of the text independently. The study concludes that the Smart Box is an effective literacy medium, as it provides concrete, multisensory, and interactive learning experiences suited to the cognitive development of lower-grade elementary students. This medium is recommended as an alternative GLS support tool to strengthen early literacy learning in primary schools.

Abstract

Teacher welfare is a major concern in improving the quality of Islamic education. Low welfare, both financially and non-financially, negatively impacts teacher motivation and performance in the learning process. This study aims to analyze the impact of teacher salary realization on the quality of Islamic education. This research uses a qualitative approach through literature review, reviewing more than 20 academic sources, including scientific journals, books, and related policy documents. The results indicate that teacher salaries, as a form of compensation, play a crucial role in shaping teacher welfare and professionalism. In the Islamic context, the salary system is governed by the ijarah principle, which emphasizes fairness and equity. This study concludes that effective, equitable, and sustainable financial management is essential to ensure teacher welfare and improve the overall quality of Islamic education.

Abstract

The phenomenon of low effectiveness of education funding management in various elementary schools remains a crucial issue in Indonesian education, particularly in terms of accountability, transparency, and integration between budget planning and implementation. This condition results in less than optimal utilization of funds to support improvements in the quality of education services and student learning outcomes. This study aims to examine in-depth aspects of effective elementary school funding management, starting from the sources and types of funding, budget planning strategies, and its impact on education quality. The method used is library research by reviewing various literature, government regulations, and the results of relevant previous research. The results show that participatory, transparent, and performance-based funding management has been proven to increase the efficiency of fund use, encourage the creation of higher-quality education programs, and strengthen public accountability for elementary school financial management. These findings emphasize the importance of strengthening the managerial capacity of school principals and involving all stakeholders in the education budget planning and evaluation process.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of appropriate educational financing in enhancing the quality of Islamic education. Using a qualitative descriptive approach through literature review, this article examines various financing strategies implemented by Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia and their impact on institutional performance. Findings from eight different studies reveal that effective financial management—characterized by transparency, accountability, and community participation—contributes significantly to improving teacher welfare, infrastructure quality, and student achievement. Moreover, diverse funding sources such as government aid, community contributions, and productive waqf are proven to enhance financial resilience and sustainability. The discussion highlights that financial governance in Islamic education must go beyond administrative functions and be oriented toward long-term educational development based on Islamic values. The study concludes that educational financing is not merely a technical component but a strategic pillar in realizing inclusive, competitive, and high-quality Islamic education.

Abstract

Obedience is a personality trait that must be instilled in every student. Obedience must be carried out consciously. Walisongo Junior High School is a religious-based school that is steeped in Islamic values. As a form of implementation of Islamic religious education at the school, daily routine activities of Dhuha prayer are carried out together in the mosque. This study aims to determine the background of the Dhuha prayer, supporting and inhibiting factors, and the school's efforts to improve student compliance with Dhuha prayer. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research approach with a case study approach, where to obtain research data the author used observation, interviews, and documentation methods directly. The results of the study indicate that in carrying out Dhuha prayer, students still need guidance from teachers considering that junior high school is a transitional age from elementary school. However, during the Dhuha prayer, all students participated and no one skipped class. If anyone missed the congregational Dhuha prayer, they still performed the prayer alone. This shows that student compliance is running as it should and has been ingrained in each student, not only in carrying out the Dhuha prayer, but also in other matters.

Abstract

This study examines the interpretation of Surah At-Tahrim verse 6 and selected hadiths related to family protection as the foundation of preventive family-based Islamic education. The study aims to conceptualize Islamic education as a comprehensive protective system encompassing spiritual, moral, and social dimensions, as well as to analyze the role of parents in strengthening family resilience based on Qur’anic and Prophetic guidance. Employing a qualitative approach, this research utilizes thematic interpretation (tafsir maudhu‘i) and hadith content analysis, drawing on classical exegetical works such as those of Ibn Kathir and Ath-Thabari alongside contemporary scholarly literature. The findings indicate that QS. At-Tahrim: 6 emphasizes collective family responsibility in safeguarding members from moral and spiritual deviation through faith cultivation, exemplary conduct, and continuous educational supervision. Relevant hadiths on family protection, including HR. Abu Dawud No. 494, reinforce this mandate by highlighting early religious habituation and an affection-based preventive educational approach. The novelty of this study lies in its integrative framework that combines thematic Qur’anic exegesis with the concept of preventive family education, offering a holistic model of proactive Islamic education oriented toward safeguarding families from both worldly and ukhrawi threats. The study concludes that Qur’anic and Prophetic values should be systematically embedded within a proactive family-based Islamic education system to ensure comprehensive protection and well-being.

Abstract

This scoping review explores the interdisciplinary applications of Dance Movement Therapy (DMT) and creative embodiment within arts and education contexts. The study aims to map how embodied practices, movement exploration, and experiential learning contribute to students’ emotional, cognitive, and social development. Following the PRISMA-ScR framework, ten peer-reviewed articles published between 2020 and 2025 were systematically analyzed across databases such as Scopus, Taylor & Francis, Frontiers, and Google Scholar. The findings reveal four thematic areas: (1) the therapeutic potential of dance in enhancing well-being and self-expression, (2) movement exploration as a framework for collaborative and reflective learning, (3) cultural and technological innovations in dance pedagogy, and (4) the integration of embodied practices in interdisciplinary education. These studies highlight DMT’s significance as both an artistic and pedagogical approach that bridges creativity, emotional awareness, and inclusive learning. The review concludes that incorporating dance and embodiment in education promotes not only aesthetic appreciation but also psychosocial growth and intercultural understanding. Further research is recommended to expand empirical evidence and strengthen the implementation of DMT within educational systems.
