Abstract

Psychosomatic disorders represent a complex condition involving the interaction of psychological, biological, and social factors, significantly affecting an individual's physical and mental health. This study aims to explore the experiences of individuals with psychosomatic disorders, particularly regarding the symptoms experienced, contributing factors, impacts on daily life, and coping strategies employed. The research utilizes a qualitative phenomenological approach, conducting semi-structured interviews with three participants who have experienced psychosomatic disorders. The findings reveal that physical symptoms such as headaches, nausea, fatigue, and insomnia are closely related to stress, academic pressure, or work demands. The impacts include decreased productivity, disruption of social relationships, and an overall decline in quality of life. Coping strategies employed encompass internal approaches (relaxation and emotional management) and external approaches (social support and medical consultations). Participants also highlighted the importance of more comprehensive healthcare services, public education, and social support in helping them manage these disorders. This study emphasizes the need for a holistic approach in addressing psychosomatic disorders by integrating biopsychosocial aspects to improve the quality of life for affected individuals. AbstrakGangguan psikosomatik merupakan kondisi yang kompleks, melibatkan interaksi antara faktor psikologis, biologis, dan sosial yang berdampak signifikan pada kesehatan fisik dan mental individu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pengalaman individu dengan gangguan psikosomatik, khususnya terkait gejala yang dialami, faktor penyebab, dampak terhadap kehidupan sehari-hari, serta strategi koping yang diterapkan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif fenomenologis dengan wawancara semi-terstruktur terhadap tiga partisipan yang memiliki pengalaman gangguan psikosomatik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gejala fisik seperti sakit kepala, mual, kelelahan, dan insomnia sangat terkait dengan stres, tekanan akademik, atau tuntutan pekerjaan. Dampak yang dirasakan meliputi penurunan produktivitas, gangguan hubungan sosial, dan penurunan kualitas hidup secara keseluruhan. Strategi koping yang diterapkan mencakup pendekatan internal (relaksasi dan pengelolaan emosi) serta pendekatan eksternal (dukungan sosial dan konsultasi medis). Partisipan juga mengungkapkan pentingnya layanan kesehatan yang lebih komprehensif, edukasi masyarakat, dan dukungan sosial untuk membantu mereka mengelola gangguan ini. Penelitian ini menegaskan perlunya pendekatan holistik dalam penanganan gangguan psikosomatik, dengan mempertimbangkan aspek biopsikososial untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidup individu yang terdampak.

Abstract

Organizational changes in the healthcare sector, including digitalization and process simplification, have significantly transformed the work environment, particularly for administrative staff. This study aims to examine the effect of perceived organizational change (POC) on psychological stress among administrative employees in public hospitals in Bandar Lampung City. The study employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design and involved 92 administrative employees. The POC instrument was developed based on the framework proposed by Rafferty and Griffin and demonstrated strong validity and reliability (Aiken’s V = 0.79–0.94; α = 0.934). Psychological stress was measured using the DASS-42 stress subscale (α = 0.872). Logistic regression analysis revealed that perceived organizational change significantly predicted psychological stress (p < 0.01), with the dimensions of impact of change and support for change emerging as strong predictors. These findings underscore that employees’ perceptions of clarity, support, and planning in organizational change processes play a critical role in determining their psychological well-being. The results have important implications for hospital management in ensuring that organizational change processes are implemented humanely and adaptively. AbstrakPerubahan organisasi di sektor kesehatan menuntut digitalisasi, penyederhanaan proses, dan penyesuaian SOP sehingga menimbulkan perubahan signifikan di lingkungan kerja, khususnya bagi pegawai administrasi. Penelitian ini menganalisis pengaruh persepsi perubahan organisasi dengan pendekatan Perceived Organizational Change (POC) terhadap stres psikologis pegawai administrasi rumah sakit pemerintah di Kota Bandar Lampung. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain cross-sectional dan melibatkan 92 pegawai administrasi. Instrumen persepsi perubahan organisasi dikembangkan berdasarkan teori Rafferty & Griffin (2006) melalui tahap expert judgement (Aiken’s V = 0,79–0,94) dan uji coba terhadap 30 responden yang menunjukkan daya beda item memadai (r = 0,412–0,762) serta reliabilitas sangat baik (α = 0,934). Stres psikologis diukur menggunakan subskala stres (14 aitem) DASS-42 dengan reliabilitas α = 0,872. Analisis regresi logistik menunjukkan bahwa persepsi perubahan organisasi berpengaruh signifikan terhadap stres psikologis (p < 0,01), dengan dimensi impact of change dan support for change sebagai prediktor kuat. Hasil ini menegaskan bahwa persepsi pegawai terhadap kejelasan, dukungan, dan perencanaan perubahan organisasi sangat menentukan kondisi psikologis mereka. Temuan ini memberi implikasi penting bagi manajemen rumah sakit dalam memastikan proses perubahan organisasi berlangsung humanis dan adaptif.

Abstract

Adaptation among students in Islamic boarding schools is often marked by complex adjustment challenges, underscoring the importance of internal factors in supporting successful adaptation. This study examines the extent to which emotional maturity and hardiness contribute to the adjustment of first-year junior high school students living in an Islamic boarding school. A quantitative approach was employed, using multiple linear regression as the data analysis technique. A total of 127 students participated as respondents, selected through a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected using three psychological instruments: an adjustment scale, an emotional maturity scale, and a hardiness scale. The analysis revealed that emotional maturity and hardiness jointly exert a significant influence on adjustment, with F(2,124) = 41.196 and p < .001. The Adjusted R² value of .390 indicates that the two variables contribute 39% to students’ adjustment. Emotional maturity (β = .440, p < .001) contributed more than hardiness (β = .302, p < .001), with effective contributions of 25% and 14%, respectively. These findings underscore the importance of implementing programs aimed at strengthening students’ emotional maturity and hardiness to support optimal adjustment. Students are encouraged to develop emotional maturity and build resilience to adapt effectively to life in the boarding school environment. AbstrakPenyesuaian diri santri di lingkungan Islamic boarding school kerap diwarnai tantangan adaptasi yang kompleks, sehingga diperlukan faktor internal yang mampu menunjang keberhasilannya. Penelitian ini menganalisis seberapa besar kematangan emosi dan hardiness memberikan kontribusi terhadap penyesuaian diri santri SMP tahun pertama. Pendekatan kuantitatif dengan analisis regresi linier berganda sebagai teknik pengolahan data. Sebanyak 127 santri menjadi responden penelitian, yang ditentukan melalui teknik sampling jenuh. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan tiga instrumen psikologis, yaitu skala penyesuaian diri, skala kematangan emosi, dan skala hardiness. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kematangan emosi dan hardiness secara simultan memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap penyesuaian diri, dengan nilai F(2,124) = 41,196 dan p < 0,001. Nilai Adjusted R² sebesar .390 menunjukkan bahwa kedua variabel memberikan kontribusi sebesar 39% terhadap penyesuaian diri. Secara parsial, kematangan emosi (β = .440, p < .001) memberikan kontribusi lebih besar dibanding hardiness (β = .302, p < .001), dengan masing-masing kontribusi efektif sebesar 25% dan 14%. Hasil penelitian ini menyoroti pentingnya penerapan penguatan program untuk meningkatkan kematangan emosi dan hardiness bagi santri sebagai upaya tercapainya penyesuaian diri yang baik dan santri didorong untuk mengembangkan kematangan emosi dan membangun ketahanan diri agar dapat beradaptasi dengan baik selama menjalani kehidupan di boarding school.

Abstract

This study investigates how rejection sensitivity (RS) predicts assertiveness difficulties among firstborn daughters in Indonesia’s high-pressure workplaces, and how workplace context moderates this relationship. A total of 268 participants (M = 27.6, SD = 4.1) completed measures of RS (Adult Rejection Sensitivity Questionnaire; α = .87), assertiveness difficulty (Functional Assertiveness Scale; α = .81), and workplace pressure (α = .84 - .86). Moderated regression analysis indicated that RS significantly predicted assertiveness difficulty (B = 0.49, SE = 0.07, t(264) = 6.98, p < .001). The RS × workplace pressure interaction was also significant (B = 0.22, SE = 0.08, t(264) = 2.75, p = .006). Simple slopes analyses revealed that the RS–assertiveness link was stronger under high workplace pressure. Findings suggest that compliance behaviors may emerge as adaptive self-silencing shaped by RS, cultural expectations, and organizational climate, underscoring the importance of fostering psychological safety and structured voice opportunities in organizations. AbstrakPenelitian ini mengkaji bagaimana sensitivitas penolakan (RS) memprediksi kesulitan asertivitas di kalangan anak perempuan sulung di tempat kerja yang bertekanan tinggi di Indonesia, serta bagaimana konteks tempat kerja memoderasi hubungan ini. Sebanyak 268 peserta (M = 27.6, SD = 4.1) mengisi instrumen pengukuran RS (Adult Rejection Sensitivity Questionnaire; α = .87), kesulitan asertivitas (Functional Assertiveness Scale; α = .81), dan tekanan tempat kerja (α = .84/.86). Analisis regresi dimoderasi menunjukkan bahwa RS secara signifikan memprediksi kesulitan asertivitas (B = 0.49, SE = 0.07, t(264) = 6.98, p < 0.001). Interaksi antara RS dan tekanan tempat kerja juga signifikan (B = 0.22, SE = 0.08, t(264) = 2.75, p = 0.006). Analisis lereng sederhana menunjukkan bahwa hubungan antara RS dan asertivitas lebih kuat di bawah tekanan tempat kerja yang tinggi. Temuan ini menyarankan bahwa perilaku kepatuhan mungkin muncul sebagai penekanan diri yang adaptif yang dibentuk oleh RS, ekspektasi budaya, dan iklim organisasi, menyoroti pentingnya memupuk keamanan psikologis dan peluang suara yang terstruktur dalam organisasi.

Abstract

The absence of mothers working as migrant workers creates various psychosocial challenges that can affect the psychological well-being of children, especially women entering early adulthood. This condition is often characterized by feelings of loneliness, limited emotional support, and difficulty building interpersonal relationships. This study aims to describe the psychological well-being experiences of early adult women whose mothers have been working as migrant workers since childhood. This study used a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach, and was analyzed using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). The informants consisted of three women aged 21-22 years selected through purposive sampling. Data were obtained through semi-structured interviews and non-participant observation. The results show that maternal absence creates a sense of loss and limited emotional support, but also forms adaptive mechanisms such as self-acceptance, independence, and resilience. Family support, long-distance communication with the mother, and the presence of a substitute figure play important roles in maintaining psychological well-being. This study confirms that psychological well-being is a dynamic process influenced by life experiences, with implications for the need for psychosocial support and policies that address the emotional aspects of children from migrant worker families. AbstrakKetidakhadiran ibu yang bekerja sebagai tenaga kerja migran menimbulkan berbagai tantangan psikososial yang dapat mempengaruhi kesejahteraan psikologis anak, terutama perempuan yang memasuki tahap dewasa awal. Kondisi ini sering ditandai dengan rasa kesepian, keterbatasan dukungan emosional, dan kesulitan membangun hubungan interpersonal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengalaman kesejahteraan psikologis perempuan dewasa awal yang sejak kecil ditinggal ibunya bekerja sebagai tenaga kerja migran. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi, serta dianalisis dengan Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). Informan terdiri dari tiga perempuan berusia 21-22 tahun yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara semi-terstruktur dan observasi non-partisipan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketidakhadiran ibu menimbulkan rasa kehilangan dan keterbatasan dukungan emosional, tetapi juga membentuk mekanisme adaptif berupa penerimaan diri, kemandirian, dan resiliensi. Dukungan keluarga, komunikasi jarak jauh dengan ibu, serta keberadaan figur pengganti berperan penting dalam menjaga kesejahteraan psikologis. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa kesejahteraan psikologis merupakan proses dinamis yang dipengaruhi pengalaman hidup dengan implikasi pada perlunya pendampingan psikososial dan kebijakan yang memperhatikan aspek emosional anak dari keluarga pekerja migran.
