Abstract

The United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have several points that are relevant to the issue of stunting, particularly those related to health and well-being. Stunting can have an impact on society, affecting the economy, education, and social development. In the context of government, stunting has a negative economic impact and therefore needs to be reduced. The Kudus Regency Government is currently making efforts to reduce stunting rates and aims to achieve zero percent by 2024. Stunting is one of the most critical issues that need to be addressed by the current regent and the next elected regent. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide technical guidance on calculating the economic losses caused by stunting. The method used to calculate the economic losses caused by stunting is the Konig method. Estimating the economic losses caused by stunting is necessary to serve as the basis for allocating funds to stunting programs in Kudus Regency. In the initial presentation phase, the preliminary analysis revealed that 98% of respondents were unaware of the economic potential lost due to stunting. During the activity, the team presented materials to explain the methods used to analyze the economic potential lost due to the impact of stunting in Kudus Regency. The final results of the analysis show that stunting in Kudus Regency causes an economic loss of 627.97 billion rupiah every year. The final evaluation results indicate that 100% of respondents assessed that the presentation of the material provided knowledge in reducing stunting rates in Kudus Regency. Academic recommendations for policymakers are expected to provide empirical evidence of the economic losses as a basis for the need for effective activities to reduce stunting rates in Kudus Regency. With this, stunting rates can be further reduced, and it is hoped that the economic losses caused by stunting in the following years can be minimized.

Improving the capacity of village officials in development planning is very important to support the effectiveness of budget management and program implementation at the village level. This community service activity aims to improve the competence of village officials through the socialization of the application of appropriate technology and training in the Budget Plan (RAB) and Detail Engineering Design (DED). The monitoring results show that the level of participation of village officials in this activity is quite high, with a value of 90% of participants attending all training sessions, the initial evaluation through a pre-test showed that participants' understanding of the preparation of RAB and DED was still limited. However, after participating in the training, there was an increase in understanding of 75% based on the results of the Post-test. In addition, 80% of participants understand the basic stages of making simple RAB and DD as the final task of the training.

Abstract

Advances in science and technology have brought significant changes to the world of education, one of which is the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI), which can be utilized to improve the learning process. This article is the result of a community service activity carried out by the IPDN West Sumatra Campus Lecturer Team in collaboration with the Education Office, which aims to improve the understanding of teachers and teaching staff throughout Payakumbuh City about the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education. The knowledge transformation was carried out in the form of a technology workshop where the material was presented using lectures, discussions, and direct practice methods. This workshop focused on the use of ChatGPT and Gamma Ai as interactive learning media. Attended by 75 elementary and junior high school teachers and teaching staff. The results of this workshop showed that 95% of participants understood the use of ChatGPT and 90% mastered Gamma Ai. It is hoped that this article will serve as a foundation for teachers and teaching staff to be able to utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in future learning practices.

Abstract

Lack of knowledge regarding financial recording is a particular obstacle for the Community Group (POKMAS) of Tebon Village, especially in managing trader contributions. Sometimes financial reporting is only done verbally without any evidence through financial records or in a makeshift manner. This results in losses for traders due to double billing, and the POKMAS itself often covers up the shortfall in these contributions. Therefore, the purpose of this activity is to train POKMAS members in preparing financial records conventionally, namely by creating financial administration books, and digitally, namely through the RT PINTAR application, to assist POKMAS in recording and reporting trader contribution management. The method used consists of three stages: Pre-implementation, Implementation, and Evaluation. The results obtained from this activity were 12 participants (86%) of 14 participants who concluded that this activity was effective and efficient in supporting their activities, especially in managing trade contributions. However, there were 2 participants (14%) who were unable to follow it properly, especially in digital financial recording due to age factors. Overall, this training activity, both conventional and digital, had a positive impact on the community and is expected to be widely implemented.

Abstract

Food security remains a significant challenge for vulnerable areas, requiring sustainable interventions to improve community well-being. This community service activity aims to strengthen food security through a participatory approach involving nutrition education, local food diversification training, and program sustainability monitoring. The Participatory Action Research (PAR) method was applied, with data collected through questionnaires, in-depth interviews, and participatory observations. The results showed a significant improvement in household food security, with food insecurity rates dropping from 65% to 30%, alongside positive changes in consumption patterns. However, program sustainability still requires policy support and the involvement of local stakeholders to ensure long-term impact. The conclusion emphasizes that community-based interventions can be an effective model for enhancing food security, but sustainable strategies are essential to maintain program benefits over time.

Abstract

Communication History falls under Communication Studies, which aims to studyhuman communication practices from a historical perspective. This study isgrowing rapidly in several countries. Simonson et al (2013) wrote The Handbookof Communication History which became one of the main references for studyingCommunication History. In Indonesia, this study is relatively undevelopedby Communication Studies academics. This has become a concern for theDepartment of Communication Science FISIP Universitas Brawijaya (UB) in thelast decade. Several lecturers in the department formed an informal communitycalled Komunitas Pengkaji Komunikasi (KPK). KPK contributes to the developmentof Communication History studies both within UB and nationally. Our communityservice programme this year targets the academic community, namely lecturersand students at various state and private universities in Indonesia. Our teamaims to introduce and invite the Communication Science academic communityto participate in developing the study of Communication History. This goal isachieved through the production of videos containing dialogues that talk aboutwhat is the scope of Communication History studies, the importance of this study, and how the Department of Communication Science FISIP UB contributes to theacademic world by developing Communication History studies.
