Abstract

This study explores the spatial disparities in economic development across Indonesia, with a focus on the role of industrial agglomeration, public investment, and transportation networks. Despite the country’s overall economic growth, significant regional inequalities persist, particularly between Java and Bali, and the outer islands such as Papua and Maluku. Using a normative qualitative approach, this research examines the factors that contribute to these disparities. Industrial agglomeration is found to be a key driver of regional growth, with clustering of industries fostering innovation, job creation, and higher productivity. Public investment in infrastructure, education, and healthcare plays a critical role in mitigating these disparities, but its uneven distribution across regions exacerbates inequality. Transportation networks are essential for reducing transaction costs and facilitating economic integration, yet many remote areas still suffer from poor infrastructure, hindering their economic potential. The study concludes with policy recommendations to promote industrial development in underdeveloped regions, increase public investment, and enhance transportation networks to foster more balanced economic growth across Indonesia.

Abstract

This study explores the relationship between public debt, government efficiency, and corruption control in the context of fiscal sustainability in Indonesia. Using a normative qualitative research approach, the study analyzes legal frameworks, government policies, and institutional reports to assess how these three factors interact and affect fiscal health. The findings indicate that while Indonesia’s public debt remains within manageable limits, challenges in government efficiency and corruption control undermine the optimal use of public resources and exacerbate fiscal deficits. The analysis highlights that inefficient government operations, combined with corruption, contribute to the misallocation of debt-financed resources, thereby hindering fiscal sustainability. The study concludes that improving debt management, enhancing government efficiency, and strengthening anti-corruption measures are essential for ensuring long-term fiscal stability in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of financial literacy and entrepreneurial orientation on the performance of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia, with business innovation acting as a mediating variable. A quantitative research design was employed, using data collected from 200 MSME owners and managers across diverse sectors through structured questionnaires based on a 5-point Likert scale. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS 3.0). The results reveal that both financial literacy and entrepreneurial orientation have a positive and significant effect on MSME performance. Furthermore, business innovation significantly mediates the relationship between the two independent variables and business performance. These findings underscore the importance of financial capability, strategic entrepreneurial behavior, and innovation adoption in enhancing MSME sustainability and competitiveness. The study provides practical recommendations for policymakers and business development stakeholders to support integrated capacity-building efforts for MSMEs in Indonesia.
