Abstract

General elections are a form of channeling people's sovereignty to produce a democratic government. Every democratic country wants to create inclusive elections. In the implementation of elections, the participation of the entire community is one of the main factors in the success of inclusive elections. Therefore, the participation of persons with disabilities as vulnerable groups in the implementation of elections is a crucial issue that needs attention. The limitations that persons with disabilities have often result in problems in fulfilling their rights in the implementation of elections. Therefore, regulations are needed so that the distribution of the rights of persons with disabilities in elections can be realized. This research uses a literature approach. This research aims to present the complexity of persons with disabilities in the implementation of elections so that it is expected to contribute to the benchmark for inclusive elections.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the application of merit system in the implementation of open selection for high leadership positions in the context of a local socio-cultural setting. The merit system policy in this open selection in this research refers to the Regulation of the Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (Permenpanrb) Number 15 of 2019. This research was conducted in the East Manggarai Regency Government utilizing a post-positivist research approach with qualitative data collection techniques. The findings showed that the implementation of open selection for filling JPT in East Manggarai Regency was not based on succession planning, there were differences in administrative requirements with relevant regulations; the addition of several administrative files. The background checking process is only carried out based document-driven and conducted indirectly to the participants’ work environment. The process of monitoring and evaluation or re-mapping for elected officials is carried out periodically. The limited number of elected officials with different socio-cultural backgrounds is due to the composition of employees and selection participants who mostly come from the East Manggarai Regency area and share the same socio-cultural background. Keywords: Civil Service, Merit System, Open Selection, Primordialism.

Abstract

This research investigates the psychological factors influencing pro-environmental behavior among adolescents in Bandung City, Indonesia. Adopting a quantitative approach, a cross-sectional survey was conducted to collect data from a representative sample of 500 adolescents aged 14 to 18. The study focused on assessing environmental attitudes, environmental knowledge, environmental consciousness, and environmental self-efficacy about pro-environmental behavior. Additionally, the potential moderating effects of socio-demographic factors on the relationship between psychological factors and pro-environmental behavior were explored. The findings reveal that environmental attitudes and self-efficacy are the strongest predictors of pro-environmental behavior. Ecological consciousness and environmental knowledge also play significant roles in influencing sustainable actions. Furthermore, education level was found to moderate the relationship between environmental learning and pro-environmental behavior. The implications of these findings are discussed, providing recommendations for targeted interventions to promote sustainable behavior among adolescents in urban areas.

Abstract

This research investigated the impact of nature exposure on mental health and well-being in West Bandung Regency, Indonesia, a region characterized by diverse natural landscapes. A mixed-method approach combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews was employed to gather data from residents of various communities in the area. The quantitative findings indicated that more frequent nature exposure was associated with lower levels of stress, anxiety, and depression. The qualitative insights revealed that nature exposure provided a sense of relaxation, tranquility, and rejuvenation, enhancing emotional well-being. The study underscores the restorative effects of nature and the importance of integrating green spaces into urban planning to promote mental health in rapidly developing regions like the West Bandung Regency.

Abstract

Biocorossion in terrestrial and marinal habitats has been widely studied including the involvement of sulphate reducing bacteria which are of particular concern in the oil and gas industries. One of the sulphate reducing bacteria that triggers biocorossion is Thiobacillus ferrooxidans. This study examines the effectiveness of Gracilaria edulis macroalgae methanol extract obtained from Sayang Heulang Beach Pamengpeuk District, Garut Regency, West Java as a candidate for carbon steel biocorrosion inhibitors in seawater media. Gracilaria edulis extraction process using Folch extraction method (chloroform: methanol: phosphate buffer, 2: 1: 0.8 (v / v)). Separation of the crude methanol-water phase extract using silica column chromatography G-60 7733 with n-hexane: acetone (8: 2, 5: 5, 2: 8 (v / v)) and methanol p.a. From the results of the analysis using a UV spectrophotometer (190-400 nm) there were five combined fractions (Fraction A-Fraction E). Total content of phenolic compounds (TPC) in crude extracts of methanol-water, fraction C and fraction E respectively (410.77; 285.30; 309.51) (mg/gr GAE). The results of the qualitative test of the ability of biocorrosion inhibition of crude extracts of methanol-water phase, fraction C and fraction E by using commercial nails in solid media incubated for four days showed a decrease in the corrosion intensity on nails. Quantitative tests on the ability of biocorrosion inhibition were carried out using the weight-loss method and the results of quantitative tests showed the corrosion rate of fraction C was 12.14 ± 1.09 mpy and the fraction E was 13.94 ± 1.82 mpy for 2.5% NaCl medium while the corrosion rate of fraction C was 10.73 ± 3.63 mpy and the fraction E was 11.72 ± 0.59 mpy for seawater media. The optimum concentration test results in the inhibition showed the smallest corrosion rate fraction C was found at 0.2 mg / mL TPC levels both in 2.5% NaCl media and seawater media which each had a corrosion rate of 12.91 mpy and 8.09 mpy and the optimum concentration of fraction E was found in TPC levels of 0.4 mg / mL (2.5% NaCl media) with a corrosion rate of 14.32 mpy and TPC levels of 0.1 mg / mL (sea water medium) with a corrosion rate of 12.14 mpy. By using the optimum fraction C concentration, the results showed that the fraction C had the maximum resistance in inhibiting for 8 days (192 hours). Analysis of carbon steel plates using SEM and EDS showed that T. ferrooxidans bacterial cells formed a biofilm layer on the surface of the carbon steel plate with a localized density but mostly dominated the carbon steel plate surface and by the addition of SEM image inhibitors showed the carbon steel plate forming a layer thin that protects the metal surface and decreases the solubility of iron sulfide in water. The test results using EDS devices also detect the presence of sulfur elements and a decrease in the percentage of iron element mass on carbon steel plates without inhibitors.

Abstract

This study aims the impact of each governance indicator in 30 Asian countries through an analysis of the 2020 Worldwide Governance Indicators (WGI) and E-Government Development Index (EGDI). This study uses quantitative methods. Visual analysis of coded data using Google Data Studio with table functionality and SmartPLS version 3.0 software. samples from 30 Asian countries. The results are as follows: First, the effect of his EGDI on WGI, only one of each correlation metric had an invalid value that is voice and accountability with a value of 0.386, suggesting a potential impact on freedom of expression. Association and social media in 30 Asian countries are still low, with an original sample value (O) of 0.824, the sample mean (M) of 0.832, STDEV of 0.043, a t-statistic of 19.318, and P-value of 0.000. Second, according to the data processing results of Google Data Studio, each indicator such as COC, GE, PSA, RL, RQ, VA has a positive value, and among the 30 Asian countries affecting each indicator, Singapore scores very high. Then Pakistan, achieved an average score out of 30 Asian countries. Although this is a negative number, COC, GE, PSA, RL, RQ, and VA indicators still need improvement.
