Abstract

Increased investment can help drive a country's economic development. In macroeconomics, investment also functions as a component of national income, gross domestic product, or gross domestic product. Investment is positively correlated with GDP or national income, when investment increases, GDP increases, and when investment decreases, GDP decreases. In the same context, Harrod-Domar developed a very legendary theory that economic growth requires capital formation in addition to capital stock. Capital formation can be seen as spending that increases the economy's ability to produce goods, or as spending that increases the effective demand for society as a whole. This requires investment to increase the ability to produce goods and services needed in the economy. Therefore, high and sustainable levels of economic growth are generally supported by increased exports and investment. In addition, Harrod-Domar emphasized that every economy must allocate a certain percentage of national income to replace damaged capital goods as an effort to grow the economy, thus requiring new investment as a capital stock.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the Russian attack on Ukraine that occurred on February 24, 2022, which resulted in instability in the global stock market. This study aims to determine the reaction of the stock market in ASEAN countries to the event of Russia's invasion of Ukraine by comparing the abnormal value of returns before and after the event. Using quantitative methods based on the event study approach, this research was conducted on six ASEAN stock markets, namely Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, Philippines, and Thailand with an observation period of 30 days before and after the Russian-Ukrainian invasion. The data analysis techniques used in this study were normality tests and different tests with the Paired Sample T-Test and Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results of the two different tests carried out showed abnormal return values that tended to be positive and insignificant. This means that the stock market reaction of ASEAN countries to the events of Russia's invasion of Ukraine is not so great or the information content is not very strong. In another sense, the announcement of this event does not put pressure on investors on the ASEAN stock market. The results of this study can help investors to see and evaluate the development of the stock market in ASEAN countries. This research can be a consideration for investors to see the resilience of ASEAN stock markets to an event that occurs.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the economic potential of zakat shares within Indonesia's expanding financial sector, as it has the capacity to enhance the well-being of individuals and promote economic growth. This type of zakat is analyzed through analytical and descriptive methods, utilizing secondary data from financial reports and related institutions. Despite low levels of community participation, this research indicates that the potential for zakat shares within Indonesia's financial sector is substantial. Through data analysis, it is evident that zakat shares can contribute to the enhancement of the financial sector by increasing liquidity and investor confidence, as well as promoting more inclusive economic growth and equitable distribution of wealth. Consequently, to provide significant economic benefits for the financial sector as a whole, it is necessary to augment public participation in zakat shares and improve zakat infrastructure.

Abstract

The development of information technology and the internet has significantly transformed the landscape of media and journalism. Traditional journalism, which relied on print and electronic broadcasting, has evolved into digital journalism supported by online platforms. This change has had a profound impact on the professionalism and credibility of journalists. This research aims to analyze the paradigm shift from traditional journalism to digital journalism and explore its impact on journalistic professionalism and credibility. The methods used in this study are literature review and comparative analysis. In the literature review, we examine the relevant literature on the paradigm shift in journalism and its impact on journalistic professionalism and credibility. Comparative analysis is carried out by comparing the characteristics of traditional journalism and digital journalism and analyzing the changes that have occurred. The results of the study indicate that the paradigm shift from traditional journalism to digital journalism has changed the role of journalists in gathering, editing and delivering news. Digital journalism provides greater freedom and flexibility for journalists in creating content, but it also brings new challenges related to the validity and credibility of information. Journalists today are faced with demands to adapt to new technologies, master algorithms, and build a strong online presence.
