Abstract

Anxiety disorders among adolescents have become a growing concern, with increasing cases linked to academic pressure, social expectations, and digital media exposure. Conventional treatments often rely on pharmacological and psychological interventions; however, alternative therapies such as dhikr (Islamic remembrance of God) are gaining attention for their potential psychological benefits. Rooted in Islamic spiritual practices, dhikr therapy is believed to induce a calming effect, promote mindfulness, and enhance emotional regulation. Understanding its effectiveness in alleviating anxiety among adolescents can contribute to integrative mental health approaches. This study aims to evaluate the impact of dhikr therapy on reducing anxiety symptoms in adolescent patients through a structured intervention program. A quasi-experimental research design was employed, involving 60 adolescent patients diagnosed with anxiety disorders. Participants were divided into an intervention group receiving guided dhikr therapy and a control group undergoing standard anxiety management. Anxiety levels were measured using the Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD-7) before and after the intervention. Findings indicate a significant reduction in anxiety scores among participants in the dhikr therapy group compared to the control group. The study concludes that dhikr therapy serves as an effective complementary approach in managing adolescent anxiety. Recommendations for integrating dhikr therapy into holistic mental health programs are discussed.

Abstract

The millennial generation’s engagement with social media has significantly influenced the dissemination of religious content, including Islamic da’wah. Traditional da’wah methods relying on in-person gatherings and textual resources face challenges in reaching a digitally connected audience. Social media platforms provide an opportunity for da’wah practitioners to engage millennials through interactive, visually appealing, and accessible content. Understanding effective da’wah management strategies on social media is crucial for optimizing digital Islamic outreach. This study aims to explore effective strategies for managing da’wah content on social media to attract and engage the millennial generation. A qualitative research design is employed, incorporating content analysis of social media da’wah campaigns, interviews with digital da’wah practitioners, and audience engagement metrics. Findings reveal that short-form video content, storytelling techniques, and interactive discussions significantly enhance engagement among millennials. Social media algorithms prioritize content that encourages interaction, requiring da’wah initiatives to integrate consistent posting schedules, audience feedback mechanisms, and visually engaging formats. The study concludes that effective da’wah management on social media necessitates a balance between religious authenticity and digital communication trends.

Abstract

Community development in Islamic societies requires an approach that integrates religious values and local wisdom to ensure sustainability and social cohesion. Conventional top-down development models often fail to capture the unique cultural and spiritual dynamics that shape community participation. A participatory approach, which actively involves local stakeholders in decision-making processes, is essential for fostering self-reliance, cultural preservation, and community-driven development. Understanding how participatory strategies contribute to building Islamic communities grounded in local traditions is crucial for developing inclusive and effective community empowerment programs. This study aims to examine the role of participatory approaches in developing Islamic communities while incorporating local wisdom as a foundational element of social engagement. A qualitative research design is employed, utilizing ethnographic fieldwork, in-depth interviews, and participatory observation in selected Islamic communities. Findings reveal that community-led initiatives, collaboration with religious leaders, and integration of traditional customs strengthen collective identity and social trust. Participatory approaches facilitate knowledge-sharing, conflict resolution, and resource management, leading to a more resilient and self-sustaining Islamic community structure. The study concludes that Islamic community development must balance religious teachings with localized cultural practices to foster social harmony and sustainability. Recommendations for integrating participatory frameworks into Islamic community development policies are discussed.

Abstract

The increasing integration of social media into organizational communication has significantly influenced the way Islamic organizations function, interact, and uphold their cultural values. Traditional hierarchies and communication patterns in Islamic institutions are being reshaped by digital engagement, transparency, and participatory decision-making. Social media platforms provide opportunities for improving collaboration, enhancing da’wah efforts, and fostering a more dynamic organizational culture, but they also introduce challenges related to information control, ethical considerations, and maintaining Islamic identity. Understanding the impact of social media on organizational culture within Islamic institutions is essential for developing strategies that balance digital engagement with core religious and ethical principles. A qualitative research design is employed, combining in-depth interviews, content analysis of organizational social media pages, and case studies of Islamic institutions. Findings reveal that social media enhances engagement, accelerates decision-making, and fosters inclusivity within Islamic organizations. However, challenges such as misinformation, ethical dilemmas, and shifts in authority structures must be addressed to maintain organizational cohesion and adherence to Islamic values. The study concludes that Islamic organizations must strategically integrate social media while safeguarding their cultural and ethical foundations. Recommendations for optimizing social media governance and digital leadership in Islamic organizations are discussed.
