Abstract

Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) have emerged as a key tool for promoting lifelong learning and professional development in the digital age. As technology continues to evolve, individuals and professionals alike are seeking flexible, accessible educational opportunities to advance their skills and knowledge. MOOCs provide an affordable and scalable solution, allowing learners to engage with high-quality content from institutions worldwide. However, the effectiveness of MOOCs in supporting lifelong learning and professional growth remains underexplored. This study aims to evaluate the role of MOOCs in facilitating lifelong learning and enhancing professional development outcomes. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews with 300 participants who have completed MOOCs across various disciplines. The study focuses on participants’ motivations, experiences, and the perceived impact of MOOCs on their personal and professional growth. Data were analyzed using statistical techniques to identify patterns and thematic analysis to gain deeper insights into learner experiences. The results indicate that MOOCs play a significant role in promoting self-directed learning, with 80% of respondents reporting that MOOCs contributed to their personal knowledge and skill development. Additionally, 60% of participants highlighted that completing MOOCs led to career advancements or improved job performance. However, barriers such as completion rates and lack of personalized feedback remain challenges for maximizing the impact of MOOCs. In conclusion, MOOCs offer substantial benefits for lifelong learning and professional development, particularly in terms of accessibility and flexibility. To fully harness their potential, improvements in course design and support mechanisms are necessary to increase completion rates and learner engagement.

Abstract

Community development in Islamic societies requires an approach that integrates religious values and local wisdom to ensure sustainability and social cohesion. Conventional top-down development models often fail to capture the unique cultural and spiritual dynamics that shape community participation. A participatory approach, which actively involves local stakeholders in decision-making processes, is essential for fostering self-reliance, cultural preservation, and community-driven development. Understanding how participatory strategies contribute to building Islamic communities grounded in local traditions is crucial for developing inclusive and effective community empowerment programs. This study aims to examine the role of participatory approaches in developing Islamic communities while incorporating local wisdom as a foundational element of social engagement. A qualitative research design is employed, utilizing ethnographic fieldwork, in-depth interviews, and participatory observation in selected Islamic communities. Findings reveal that community-led initiatives, collaboration with religious leaders, and integration of traditional customs strengthen collective identity and social trust. Participatory approaches facilitate knowledge-sharing, conflict resolution, and resource management, leading to a more resilient and self-sustaining Islamic community structure. The study concludes that Islamic community development must balance religious teachings with localized cultural practices to foster social harmony and sustainability. Recommendations for integrating participatory frameworks into Islamic community development policies are discussed.

Abstract

Background: Government policies play a significant role in shaping the investment climate and, consequently, in driving economic growth. Policies aimed at stimulating investments—such as fiscal incentives, tax policies, and infrastructure development—can significantly influence the flow of capital into various sectors, fostering economic activity and job creation. Conversely, restrictive policies or regulatory inefficiencies can stifle investment and hinder economic development. Understanding the implications of these policies is crucial for policymakers and businesses seeking to maximize economic growth potential. Objective: This study aims to evaluate the impact of government policies on investment decisions and their subsequent effect on economic growth. The research seeks to identify the key policy factors that drive or hinder investment flows and assess their broader implications for long-term economic performance. Method: A mixed-methods approach was employed, utilizing quantitative data analysis of economic indicators and investment flows from government reports, along with qualitative interviews from business leaders and policymakers. The study examines a range of countries with varying policy environments to identify common trends and impacts. Results: The findings suggest that pro-investment policies significantly boost both domestic and foreign investment, leading to higher economic growth rates. In contrast, restrictive policies and regulatory uncertainties were found to negatively impact economic performance. Conclusion: The study concludes that effective government policies are essential for fostering investment and driving sustainable economic growth. Policymakers should prioritize creating stable, investment-friendly environments to achieve long-term economic benefits.

Abstract

Effective communication skills are essential for fostering positive work relationships and enhancing collaboration in office environments. However, many employees struggle with communication barriers that hinder their ability to work effectively with colleagues, leading to misunderstandings and reduced productivity. Communication skills training programs have been proposed as a solution to improve interpersonal communication, but their impact on work relationships in the office environment remains underexplored. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of communication skills training programs in improving work relationships among employees in office settings. The research employed a pre- and post-intervention survey design, involving 150 employees from various departments in a corporate office. Participants completed assessments on their communication effectiveness and work relationship quality before and after undergoing a 6-week communication training program. The results demonstrated significant improvements in employees’ ability to express themselves clearly, listen actively, and resolve conflicts, which in turn enhanced the quality of their work relationships. Participants reported increased trust, cooperation, and mutual respect in their interactions with colleagues. The study concludes that communication skills training programs can effectively improve interpersonal relationships in the office, leading to a more harmonious and productive work environment.

Abstract

Islamic Studies programs in Indonesian higher education have traditionally been rooted in classical, discipline-specific methodologies, which face challenges in addressing complex contemporary issues. This study aimed to identify and analyze the primary challenges and emerging opportunities for integrating interdisciplinary approaches within this field. A qualitative, multi-site case study methodology was employed, focusing on leading Islamic universities in Indonesia. Data were collected through curriculum analysis, policy document review, and in-depth interviews with faculty, academic leaders, and students. The results indicate that significant challenges persist, including institutional rigidity, disciplinary silos, and a faculty trained in mono-disciplinary traditions. However, substantial opportunities are emerging, driven by new government accreditation standards that favor interdisciplinarity and growing student demand for programs that connect Islamic sciences with social sciences, technology, and humanities. The study concludes that while structural and paradigmatic hurdles are significant, the push for interdisciplinary approaches presents a critical opportunity to revitalize Islamic Studies, enhancing its relevance and intellectual contribution to addressing modern societal challenges.

Abstract

Illegal logging poses a significant threat to forest ecosystems in Southeast Asia, compromising biodiversity, disrupting ecological balance, and undermining sustainable development efforts. The region's rich biodiversity and vital ecosystem services are increasingly jeopardized by unregulated logging practices, necessitating a thorough investigation of its impacts. This research aims to assess the extent of illegal logging in Southeast Asia and its effects on forest ecosystems. The study seeks to identify key drivers of illegal logging and analyze its implications for biodiversity and local communities. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative data from satellite imagery and forest cover assessments with qualitative interviews of stakeholders, including local communities, government officials, and NGO representatives. Case studies from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand were analyzed to provide insights into the dynamics of illegal logging. Findings reveal that illegal logging significantly contributes to deforestation and habitat loss, leading to declines in species populations and disruptions in ecosystem functions. Local communities reported negative impacts on their livelihoods and increased conflicts with wildlife as a result of habitat degradation. The study concludes that addressing illegal logging is crucial for the conservation of forest ecosystems in Southeast Asia. Effective governance, community engagement, and sustainable forest management practices are essential to combat illegal activities and protect biodiversity. Collaborative efforts among stakeholders will be vital for creating resilient forest ecosystems in the region.

Abstract

Quantum computing offers great potential for a technological revolution, but challenges related to the stability and resilience of computing systems remain a major obstacle. Topological Quantum Computing (TQC) emerged as one of the solutions to overcome this problem. This study aims to analyze the challenges and potential of TQC in the development of quantum computing that is more stable and resistant to external disturbances. The method used in this study is a literature study by analyzing secondary data from various experiments conducted by leading research institutions. The results show that TQC has the potential to improve the reliability of quantum computing, especially in reducing the error rate that often occurs in conventional quantum systems. Nonetheless, the main challenges faced are the greater scalability and integration issues of the system. The study concludes that despite the promise of TQC, the development of this technology still requires further research to overcome existing technical constraints. The future research direction needs to be focused on the development of topological qubits on a large scale and more efficient integration for practical applications.

Abstract

Entrepreneurial resilience plays a critical role in determining the success or failure of startups, especially in highly volatile and competitive environments. While many studies have focused on the factors leading to startup success, less attention has been paid to how entrepreneurs recover from failure and the key traits that contribute to their resilience. Understanding these dynamics is essential for aspiring entrepreneurs and stakeholders in the startup ecosystem. This research aims to explore the concept of entrepreneurial resilience by analyzing case studies of both failed and successful startups. The study seeks to identify the factors that contribute to entrepreneurial resilience and how these factors influence the ability to recover from failure or sustain success. A qualitative case study approach was employed, focusing on 10 startup companies—5 that failed and 5 that succeeded. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with founders and key stakeholders, as well as secondary sources such as company reports and news articles. Thematic analysis was used to identify recurring patterns and key themes. The study found that successful entrepreneurs exhibited high levels of emotional intelligence, adaptability, and a strong support network. In contrast, failed startups often struggled with a lack of strategic foresight, poor decision-making, and inadequate resource management. Resilience factors, including mindset, leadership, and external support, were crucial in navigating both failure and success.
