Abstract

Sukoharjo Regency is one of the buffer districts in Central Java apart from Klaten Regency. Sukoharjo Regency has a potential agricultural sector, so this sector is the region's mainstay. This study aims to identify the role of the agricultural sector in economic development by analyzing the agricultural sector's performance (basis/not) and knowing the agricultural sector's contribution to the Gross Regional domestic product. The data used in this research is time series data from 2013-2017, sourced from the Central Statistics Agency of Sukoharjo Regency. The data analysis method used in this research is Location Quotient and Contribution. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the agricultural sector in Sukoharjo district was a basic sector, while the agricultural sector's contribution to the total Gross Regional Domestic Product was the highest in 2013, with a contribution of 9.86%. Abstract

The concept of ‘Basuduai’ on cattle breeding investment has been popularly implemented in West Sumatra for decades. Currently, this partnership modelling is still implemented in several villages and rural areas. This study aims to describe ‘basuduai’ as a socio-entrepreneurship approach in a simple descriptive method using the Business Model Canvas (BMC). Perhaps this model could also be implemented in other rural areas as an economic development approach. The data was collected through ten in-depth interviews and two focus group discussions (FGD) among the local partners in Payakumbuh, West Sumatra. Content and context analysis is conducted to describe the categorical theme for results analysis. The finding shows that cattle breeding investment as the 'Basuduai' system is an indigenous approach in the local community in West Sumatra. However, based on the business model canvas, the role of community leader should be prioritized to balance the system. Hence, the need for a formal socio entrepreneurship entity as the middleman should be developed. Perhaps, this study could contribute to the development of rural economic programs and could be replicated in other rural areas in Indonesia and also in other countries. Discussion and limitations are also stated in the study Keywords: Partnership Investment, Cattle Breeding, Business Model Canvas, Socio-Entrepreneurship, Economic Development, Economic EmpowermentJEL Clasification: L20, P32, R51

Abstract

The impact of COVID-19 on the banking industry has had a significant effect. This study tries to map the development of research published in this field. The research was conducted using VOSViewer software. The data analyzed in the form of scientific research related to the impact of COVID-19 on the banking industry totaling 28 articles indexed by the Scopus database. The results show that the number of research publications on the impact of COVID-19 on the banking industry is quite large. The network visualization shows that the map of developing research on the impact of COVID-19 on the banking industry is divided into several clusters with the most popular keywords, namely COVID-19, banking and viral disease. The top authors are Strongbayefa A, Akhmetov Y, Mohan T and Baskaran A, the top agencies are the Technical Expert Group on Sustainable Finance, Brussels and the Department of Accounting Finance, Rennes School of Business. The most popular countries are India, Canada and Saudi Arabia. Besides, it was found that research on the impact of COVID-19 on the banking industry was felt recently due to credit and non-performing loans which then had implications for restructuring policies. In the end, conventional banking is more affected by COVID-19 than Islamic banking in terms of its problematic financing ratio. Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic caused a drastic correction in the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) during the first quarter of 2020. This study analyzes the factors that influence the movement of IDX Agriculture (JKAGRI) during the pandemic in 2020. The study used secondary data (time series) obtained from the sites Investing.com, then it was analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that simultaneously the independent variables GOLD, NYSE, FCPO3, and USD/IDR significantly influence the JKAGRI. While partially the variable gold price (GOLD), New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), crude palm oil price index (FCPO3) have a significant effect on the movement of IDX Agriculture (JKAGRI). However, the dollar exchange rate (USD/IDR) does not significantly influence the movement of IDX Agriculture (JKAGRI). Thus, Traders are advised to closely monitor their portfolios while maintaining a stop loss at a certain percentage based on their risk profile. In contrast to investors who are expected to wait patiently for an increase or buyback to lower the average price (the average down) when technically indicates a price reversal signal. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the efficiency of government expenditure based Human Development Index (HDI) in Local Government at the Indonesian’s Province using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and Tobit Regression. DEA method used to measure the efficiency of a government entity by using multi-input and multi-output. DEA result also can be used to identify which input or output must be evaluated so that Decision Making Unit (DMU) can increase its efficiency. While tobit model was conducted to investigate the connection of the efficiency result to some variables such as population, size, and differences between Java or non-Java provinces The Result from this research showed that Yogyakarta, Jakarta, Central Java, and East Kalimantan were the most efficient provinces in 2015-2018, while East Java was the most inefficient. This research also indicates that education sector was the main source inefficiency both in input and output variables. Tobit analysis showed that all independent variables used in this study had a significant effect on efficiency. Population and size variables had a negative significant effect on the efficiency, otherwise dummy variables of Java and non-Java has positive significant effect to the efficiency achievement. The COVID-19 pandemic has been more than one year. It was started in March 2020. All aspects of life have been changed. Almost every activity must be done at home. This causes some businesses to close. Economic flow is not good since then. The economic recovery strategy must be done to restore the economic growth after the COVID-19 pandemic subsided. This paper aims to describe the strategy in economic recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: This paper is a literature review. The literature was taken from Science Direct and PubMed databases. Keywords are COVID-19, economy, recovery, strategy. The results showed that the economic recovery strategy must be done gradually in all aspects. The aspects that must be developed are broadband, healthcare investment and facilities, aviation, stock markets, and transportation. Broadband is very essential in online working, business, and learning. Healthcare investment is very critical to shorten the lockdown period. Those strategies can alleviate the economic crisis and increase economic growth.  Keywords: COVID-19, economy, recovery, strategy JEL : A10, O1, Z18

Abstract

The agricultural sector is experiencing difficulties in terms of decreased corporate profits. The average profit growth in 2014 was 487, decreased in 2015 by 364, then increased in 2016 by 653, and decreased from 2016-2019. The decline in profit occurred due to the abundant production of agricultural products, and not infrequently, some agricultural commodities were barely produced due to crop failure. This study examines the effect of Current Ratio (CR), Net Profit Margin (NPM), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), and Total Asset Turnover (TATO) on profit growth in agriculture sector companies listed on the IDX in 2014-2019. This research uses quantitative data with multiple linear regression techniques. The research sample was determined by purposive sampling technique. Quantitative analysis includes classic assumption tests (normality test, multicollinearity test, heteroscedasticity test, autocorrelation test), multiple linear regression test, model feasibility test through t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination. The results showed that Current Ratio (CR), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), and Total Asset Turnover (TATO) did not affect profit growth in agricultural companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) in 2014-2019, but Net Profit Margin (NPM) affect profit growth in agricultural companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) in 2014-2019. The contribution of the results of this study can support the conception of signal theory (Signaling theory), which suggests the importance of information issued by companies to investment decisions. Information is essential for investors and businesspeople because information provides information on records and descriptions of the past, present and future for companies and the capital market. Abstract

This paper implements the comparative welfare analysis method Marginal Value of Public Funds (MVPF) developed by Hendren and Sprung-Keyser (2020) for historical public policies in Germany between 1990–2018 across the domains of taxation, job training, social insurance, and infrastructure. It contributes to the public finance literature by constructing among the first MVPF collections of public policies outside the United States, identifying key similarities and differences between MVPF results of the two nations, expanding the MVPF framework into the field of public infrastructure, and shedding light on the approach’s particular weaknesses. German tax reforms generated positive and significant MVPFs; retirement and unemployment insurance policies yielded relatively small MVPFs, and child treatment scored the largest MVPF among health insurance programs.  Keywords: public policy, policy evaluation, welfare analysis JEL : H21, H41, H50, I38

Abstract

The start of national financial development gives the government a centre on taking care of the economy similarly in both country and urban regions. In developing countries, there are many problems that are often found, one of which is inequality in the distribution of income with rural and urban income for each person. The approach utilized in this inquiry is subjective with a descriptive analysis. The examination method utilized could be a writing look and case examination related to the substance of breaking even with the dissemination of national wage calculate the Gini ratio for each region and then involves calculating the amount required to calculate the Gini coefficient, which involves the cumulative proportion of the population and the proportion of income received by that group and the green economy concept. This consideration demonstrates seven vital steps in a green economy utilizing macro-regional financial markers, specifically veritable to observing national wage dissemination. This result depicts concepts of green economy, green development, and green development, essentially planning to operationalize the linkages of financial, social, and natural columns within feasible advancement.  Keywords: economic growth, green economy, Urban and rural ratio, Gini ratio JEL Classification: E22, O15
