Telecommunication technology nowadays tries to implement Personal Communication System (PCS) which has Personal Mobility (PM) and Terminal Mobility (TM). PCS can be define as radio technology that uses Radio Frequency (RF) as a transmission medium, which is small and light, and can be implemented indoor and outdoor. One equipment that implements this technology is called D-Link. The application of D-Link is to communicate among users either indoor or outdoor. Research methodology includes deciding the parameters and calculating the path loss between base station and portable station at the second floor of Electrical Engineering Department Syiah Kuala University. The final result was that the communication between the base station and portable station in the rooms at the second floor could exist but the process is rather slow and can experience discontinuity. Those were happenbecause the receiver’s power was below the threshold of the portable station level, i.e.. -40 dB.

Abstract—ABI measurements are performed to detect PAD. ABI measurements are essential because, generally, patients are not aware of having PAD due to no significant signs and symptoms. Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Patients tend to have PAD, which increases the risk of cardiovascular and mortality. Therefore, the measurement of ABI regularly is needed to prevent PAD. Early detection and regular monitoring of PAD by measuring ABI can avoid foot complications, such as injuries, gangrene, and amputation. The standard method to measure ABI is using Doppler. Unfortunately, not all health care providers have Doppler because it is an expensive instrument and relatively difficult to use. The purpose of this study is to design a simple and easy Prototype to measure ABI by using pressure sensors. Two pressure sensors measure the systole of blood pressure in the arm and leg to get the ABI. This study’s sample is 20 people consisting of 10 healthy people and ten diabetes mellitus patients. The result shows the ABI prototype has an error of 0.53% with an accuracy rate of 99.47%. It is indicated that the ABI prototype can be used for diagnosing PAD.

Clustering is an unsupervised method to group multiple objects based on the similarity automatically. The quality of clustering accuracy is determined by the number of similar objects in a correct cluster group. The robust preprocessing process and the choice of cluster algorithm can increase the efficiency of clustering. The objective of this study is to observe the most suitable method to cluster document in Bahasa Indonesia. We performed tests on several cluster algorithms such as K-Means, K-Means++ and Agglomerative with various preprocessing stages and collected the accuracy of each algorithm. Clustering experiments were conducted on a corpus containing 100 documents in Bahasa Indonesia with a commonly used preprocessing scenario. Additionally, we also attach our preprocessing stages such as LSA function, TF-IDF function, and LSA / TF-IDF function. We tested various LSA dimension reductions values from 10% to 90%, and the result shows that the best percentage of reduction rates between 50%-80%. The result also indicates that K-Means++ algorithm produces better purity values than other algorithms.

Radio Siaran FM merupakan salah satu teknologi telekomunikasi yang digunakan untuk memberikan layanan informasi dan hiburan bagi masyarakat. Untuk menjangkau masyarakat pendengar sebagai konsumen yang ditargetkan, kualitas penerimaan siaran menjadi hal yang sangat krusial. Daya pancar dan propagasi dari pemancar dapat mempengaruhi teknis kualitas layanan pada penerima. Masalah kualitas ini menjadi obyek yang dikaji dan pendekatan yang dilakukan untuk mendapatkan hasil, dilakukan pengukuran lapangan dengan menggunakan instrumen spectrum analyzer dan ditambah GPS sebagai penentu keakuratan lokasi pengukuran. Lima radio pemcancar swasta di kota Banda Aceh yang beroperasi pada frekuensi kerja 98,5 MHz hingga 103,6 MHz menjadi obyek penelitian dan akan dievaluasi. Hasil pengukuran lapangan didapati bahwa semua stasiun radio FM yang dievaluasi memenuhi standar kuat medan minimum yang diperbolehkan (Eμ) sesuai standar untuk kategori daerah rural, 54 dBμV/m dan daerah urban, 66 dBμV/m. Hasil lain juga tidak ditemukan interferensi frekuensi dan semua stasiun masih dalam batas toleransi deviasi frekuensi kerja yang diizinkan. Dengan demikian, lima pemcancar radio FM yang dievaluasi mempunyai kualitas yang baik dan layanan yang diberikan dapat dinikmati dengan baik oleh pendengar.

Solar energy is a renewable energy source that can be used as a source of electricity using a photovoltaic (PV) system to reduce our dependence on fossil energy. This paper discusses an overview of the use of a rooftop PV system in accordance with applicable regulations in Indonesia. Computer simulation was conducted to determine the potential power and output energy of the rooftop PV system in the city of Surabaya. The simulation was carried out by SolarGIS Pvplanner software. Mathematical equations are derived to estimate the unit price of electric energy for the PV system, and the calculations are done numerically. The simulation results show that the total daily energy average generated from the 3 kWP roof solar PV system in Surabaya is about 13 kWh. Meanwhile, the unit price for PV system electricity is obtained between 0.08 USD - 0.11 USD / kWh.

Solar power plants using environmentally friendly technology in the process of harvesting energy from the sun can be a solution to the future electricity crisis so that it has been the most widely developed and reliable alternative. However, the conversion of solar energy depends on the availability and conditions of sunlight. In sunny conditions, the PV system can serve large loads while charging the battery to the maximum. While in cloudy weather conditions or at night, the PV system serves the load and without charge of the battery. The battery will discharge the stored energy until it runs out and the supply to the load will be cut off before the desired time. Therefore, research on PV system loading strategy is needed to increase the amount of electricity from solar energy and maintain the continuity of electricity supply to the load. The load power management strategy follows the conditions of sunny, cloudy, rainy or night time by considering the remaining capacity of the battery that can be used. Load installations are designed to consist of low, medium and high load installations. Simulation results show that the use of PV loading management strategies can increase the operating time of the PV system. When the remaining 15% battery capacity and PLN supply is available, the supply will be switched to PLN. The remaining 15% of PV battery capacity could be used to maintain electricity supply to a low load if the PLN supply interrupted. Thus the use of the charging strategy will increase the supply of electricity from renewable energy and improve the continuity of electricity supply.

Aspects of robotics technology have now been able to explore and reach the entertainment, education, and health. Making robots with privileges and special expertise is closely related to the needs of the modern world that requires a device with a high capacity are useful to help the work of man. On the other hand, advanced technology is useful to complete the work that could not and did not want to do by men as a greeter job. Greeter costumer jobs is a very tedious job. So it is necessary in the field of robotics technology that is smart robot greeter customers that replace the role of humans to improve the quality of waiters, efficiency, and economical savings at shopping centers in the city of Manado. The smart robot is designed to greet the customer by giving the greeting on the customer entrance and exit shopping center. The robot system is powered with less use of multiple technologies including ultrasonic distance and PIR sensors to detect humans, servo and DC motor as an actuator of the robot, and use voice module so that the robot can speak. The robot system is also equipped with a remote control using the Android smartphone so the smart robot can perform monitoring, operation, and control over long distances. The test results describe the action of robots have been able to make the detection of costumer and activities greeting the customer with the analysis of determining the value of the parameter distance between ultrasonic sensors use trigonometry comparative analysis.

Someone sometimes forgets to put their belongings so that they leave them somewhere, it will pose a risk of losing their belongings. To solve this problem, a reminder is needed so that it is expected to minimize the risk of loss. This device implements point-to-point communication from the Bluetooth Low Energy AT-09 transmitter module with Arduino Nano and the receiver module with an Android smartphone. This reminder device will activate an alarm on the Android smartphone application when the two modules are more than 5 meters away. The measured distance is converted from the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) value received by the smartphone which is affected by obstructions, packet loss, and delay. Based on the test results, at a distance of 5 meters, the system can be connected and work properly, in unobstructed conditions (Line of Sight) or obstructed conditions (Non-Line of Sight). In the blocked condition, it has a packet loss of 1.1% to 4.4%, the received signal strength (RSSI) has decreased the value to a difference of -8 dBm, and the delay time is 2 seconds.

Rotary Inverted Pendulum (RIP) is a physical system that is often used as a theoretical platform and application of non-linear, unstable, and underactuated control systems so that it poses a challenge to design controls and realize them. The mechanical construction of the system consists of a pendulum arm that rotates horizontally on the RIP base shaft and a vertical pendulum arm that swings from a downward position to an upright equilibrium position. This paper presents a model and control scheme for RIP in a modular manner, in which three controller sections are constructed and realized using Multibody Matlab. The three controller parts include: a swing-up using a positive feedback Proportional Derivative controller, a switching mode controller that works to change swing up control scheme into stabilization control when the vertical pendulum arm reaches a position around its upright equilibrium, and stabilization controller to maintain vertical arm balanced using a Proportional Derivative controller. The trajectory of the motion of the pendulum arm and the 3D visualization of the pendulum system presented using Multibody Matlab show the effectiveness of the applied method.
