In 2014, the Sample Registration System (SRS) released a survey showing that heart diseases can be categorized as the second highest non-communicable disease in Indonesia. The percentage is 12.9%. In this work, a tele-auscultation system for heart sound signals was built to transmit the signal over the global Internet networks and store them in a Cloud storage. Thus, the system allows measurement of heart sound signal for the rural area where the presence of expert is very scarce and helps the expert doctors to perform clinical analysis anywhere. Our examination showed that the system exhibited the average transmission delay of 5.68 second and data lost of only less than 1% for transmission of 1 heart sound signal. On the other hand, examination using two heart sound signals transmitted simultaneously showed that it displayed a smaller average of transmission delay. It may be caused by the measurement of the transmission delay as well as data lost that is depended on the traffic in the internet networks. Moreover, correlation of the heart sound signals before and after transmission showed a strong correlation where the correlation value is very close to 1 at, indicating that there is a strong similarity between the two signals.

In order to get a good performance from a wireless sensor network, it is necessary to measure parameters of the network. RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) is one of the network parameters that measure the signal strength received by a radio receiver in communication module. In this study the RSSI measurement experiment was performed in a wireless sensor network with the ZigBee protocol. Measurements were accomplished in three topologies, i.e. point-to-point, star, and mesh, both indoor and outdoor scenarios. Indoor measurements are carried out within the laboratory with concrete wall partition, while outdoor measurements are carried out in open space with the line-of-sight (LOS) conditions. XCTU software is used to measure RSSI measurements, by sending 100 data packets of 64 bytes with 1 second delivery intervals. Results show that the farther the data transmission distance, the RSSI value relatively decrease due to obstacles and reduced radio signal strength. While, in the mesh topology the addition of a router will also cause a slightly increase in the RSSI value.

In general, irrigation watergates placed in the Manikin Irrigation Area is supporting tools for agricultural activities that implement a primary–secondary–tertiary channel system. Manikin irrigation watergate is made of iron plates with the certain size which is operated by a move up/down or rotation. This mechanism has led the dissatisfaction service problems in farmers. This study has developed smart irrigation watergate based on Arduino by replacing the lifter/rotator part using DC motor that works automatically based on the Real-time Clock sensor. This sensor sends the data time to Arduino and used as the reference to open or close the watergate. The study used a design method includes interconnecting realtime clock sensors and Arduino, build the programming control, build the DC system on watergates and interconnection to control systems and testing. The test results show that the irrigation watergate moves up and move down every 2 hours based on the data time from the real-time clock, works with a 12-hour time format and operating on 2.7-ampere current.

This research is motivated by electrical power shutting-down that frequently occurred in Riau province. Low electrical power supply as compared to the need causes lack of supply. Thus, new alternative electrical energy resource such as micro hydro is required. Micro hydro plant is an electrical power generators that uses water to rotate the turbine. This research designs a monitoring system for micro hydro plant. The monitored micro hydro plant employs water turbine that is constructed using bicycle pedal and a water pipe installed on the pedal . The pipe flows the water to energize the turbine. Turbine rotation will generate electricity. The amount of power resulted by generators depends on the number of turbine rotation. The power is used to turn on the lamp. Some sensors are used to monitor generator performance. Current, voltage, and rotation sensors are used to monitor the resulted current, voltage, the turbine rotation respectively. The output power is stored in the battery. The micro Arduino and the ethernet shield capture the monitored data and send it to the computers using Wi-Fi connection. Measurement results show that the output voltage produced by the generator is 10 Volts when the water volume is high. Finally, it is found that the micro hydro generator is able to supply 5 Watts to the load.

As feasible locations of public urban park in Bogor Municipality have been acquired in a previous study, decision makers are urgently needed to be informed on which locations should be prioritized for public urban park (PUP) development. Therefore, this study aggregates four multi-spatial criteria for PUP development priority modeling, namely distance to slum neighborhood, accessibility, slope, and land value. These four criteria in form of vector datasets were weighted using intuitionistic fuzzy analytical hierarchy process (IF-AHP) to consider the hesitancy, vagueness, and fuzziness might arise from experts’ judgement as well as from multi-spatial data processing. Resulted criteria weights from IF-AHP show that accessibility weight 0.261, land value weight 0.259, distance to slum weight 0.255, and slope weight 0.225, respectively. Criteria weights were inputted into fuzzy technique for order preference by similarity to the ideal solution (TOPSIS) and geographic information system (GIS) to rank location priority. Results from fuzzy TOPSIS show that very high priority class which has the biggest CCi values range (0.654-0.76) provides 0.14 km2 area of feasible PUP development scattered in 10 locations. The biggest area for feasible PUP development is generated by medium priority class (CCi values 0.439-0.546) in 26 locations and approximately area of 0.38 km2.

Each material has its own characteristics, which are represented by the value of speed/ultrasonic wave propagation speed (C) and acoustic impedance/material resistance (Ztl). One technique that can be used to obtain these characteristics is by applying ultrasonic testing. This technique utilizes two ultrasonic sensors as transmitter (UST) and receiver (USR) to get signal properties from each material. The measurement mechanism is nondestructive testing (NDT) where the material tested is not damaged so it does not change the character of the sample. In this research, material characteristics are represented by reflected signals from material (echo). To process the echo signal data and get the characteristics of the sample, we need a number of data processing algorithms such as Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), Peak Detection, and Grid Search. By processing echo from reflected signals, C and Ztl values can be obtained. From the experimental results obtained, the values of C and Ztl in sample 1 with a density of 1856.97573 g/m3 are C = 636 m/s and Ztl = 474640 Ns/m3, samples 2 with a density of 1792.94208 g/m3 of C = 491 m/s and Ztl = 408080 Ns/m3, while the sample 3 with a density of 1663.85025 g/m3 is C = 434 m/s and Ztl = 405639 Ns/m3. The value of material characterization shown that a dense clay also has higher C and Ztl.

A bridge is planned and built with a certain capability against vehicles through it. The vehicles movement causes vibration and vertical deflection on certain parts of the bridge. If the vibration occurs continuously in a great value, then the bridge will be damaged sooner than had been planned. This research reports a design of a vertical deflection measuring system prototype on bridge, employing an accelerometer MMA7361 sensor which is controlledby ATmega32. The system was tested by manually loading the trial bridge with 1 m of length. The loading deflects down the bridge to maximum 15 cm from the reference point. Sensor readout data was sent wirelessly using ZigBee real time to computer in a graphical display for easy analysis. The research give an alternative method in vertical deflection measuring on the bridge that can be utilized by stakeholder in policy decision.

SCADA is a very powerful new technology to be applied as a tele-metering. Planning of Digital KWH Meter based on SCADA at 20 kV medium voltage customer isselected in the PLN APJ Jember, where KWH Meters arewidely used today is the Landis Gyr ZMC405C type. But it is less reliable devices along with the development of technology today. KWH Meter ZMD405CT offers more features for modern, effective and efficient to be used by PLN in the future. Design of SCADA in ZMD405CT not use a lot of cable, so they are efficient in terms of cost. Meanwhile, software for data acquisition must be balanced with the KWH meter to be used, for electrical energy measurement accuracy on the customer side can be assured.

Scholarship is a donation in term of financial assistance that is given to an individual, student or pupils. Even though, the target distribution of the scholarships is sometime not relevant. It is because the scholarship distribution has not yet used a tool or method to determine suitable scholarship recipients. For that reason, it needs to design a system to determine the scholarship recipients using Fuzzy Multi Attribute Decision Making (FMADM) and Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. FMADM method is used to looking for an alternative of some Alternatives with some criteria that determined before. Moreover, SAW method is used to rank the existing alternatives. The result of this research can be used as a tool to make decision with recommendation of the scholarship recipients.
