Abstract

According to global data from the World Health Organization (WHO), worldwide, approximately 10% of pregnant women and 13% of new mothers experience mental disorders, particularly depression. In developing countries, this figure is even higher, at 15.6% during pregnancy and 19.8% after childbirth. In severe cases, maternal distress can be so severe that they may even commit suicide. Furthermore, affected mothers are unable to function properly. As a result, child growth and development can also be impaired (WHO, 2023). The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between family support and anxiety in third-trimester pregnant women facing childbirth at Dr. Sobirin Regional Hospital, Musi Rawas Regency in 2025.The study used a cross-sectional design. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires to 33 respondents, including pregnant women in their third trimester at Dr. Sobirin Regional Hospital, Musi Rawas Regency, using a total sampling technique. Univariate analysis revealed that more than half of the respondents, or 54.5%, were in the third trimester of pregnancy. Musi Rawas Regency in 2025 experienced poor family support, and more than half of respondents, or 57.6%, of third-trimester pregnant women, experienced high levels of anxiety during childbirth at Dr. Sobirin Regional General Hospital (RSUD) in Musi Rawas Regency in 2025. Bivariate analysis revealed a significant relationship between family support and third-trimester anxiety levels during childbirth at Dr. Sobirin Regional General Hospital (RSUD) in Musi Rawas Regency in 2025, with a p-value of 0.003.Dr. Sobirin Regional General Hospital (RSUD) in Musi Rawas Regency and related institutions should improve antenatal care services that focus not only on the physical aspects but also on the psychological aspects of pregnant women.

Abstract

In 2020, an estimated 287,000 maternal deaths occurred, equivalent to one death every two minutes. A recent WHO study reported that hemorrhage, most often occurring during or after childbirth, was responsible for nearly a third (27%) of maternal deaths, with preeclampsia and other hypertensive disorders contributing an additional 16%. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of health education on the knowledge of high-risk pregnant women regarding the prevention of pregnancy complications in the Bukit Mulya Community Health Center (Puskesmas) working area in Mukomuko Regency. This study used a quasi-experimental "one-group pretest-posttest" design, involving only one group without a control group. The pretest was administered to each respondent before the treatment. The researcher then administered the treatment to each respondent, and then administered the posttest to 33 respondents using a total sampling technique. Univariate analysis revealed that more than half of the respondents 19 (57.6%) in the Bukit Mulya Community Health Center working area in Mukomuko Regency) had poor knowledge before receiving health education, while more than half 17 (51.5%) had good knowledge after receiving health education. The bivariate analysis results, due to the data being normally distributed, yielded a paired samples test with a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05. Therefore, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, indicating a significant effect between health education and the knowledge of high-risk pregnant women regarding preventing pregnancy complications. This is to ensure that health workers can improve and maintain the provision of planned and continuous health education to high-risk pregnant women using engaging and easy-to-understand methods and media.

Abstract

Fe is essential for the formation of red blood cells and hemoglobin, which are vital for supplying oxygen and nutrients to all cells in the mother's and fetus's bodies. The WHO and the Indonesian Ministry of Health recommend that pregnant women take Fe tablets for at least 90 days during pregnancy and up to 40 days after giving birth. Husband support plays an important role in increasing pregnant women's compliance with taking Fe tablets. This study aims to determine a correlation between husband support and compliance with Fe supplement consumption among pregnant women in the working area of UPTD Penarik Mukomuko Health Center. This study uses a quantitative research method with an analytical design and a cross-sectional approach. The population and sample in this study consisted of all 43 respondents who were pregnant women in their third trimester, using total sampling technique. The research instrument used a questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate analysis. The results of the univariate analysis showed that most respondents whose husbands were supportive and compliant in consuming Fe tablets numbered 26 people (60.5%). Respondents whose husbands were not supportive and not compliant in consuming Fe tablets numbered 17 people (39.5%). The results of bivariate analysis using the chi-square statistical test showed a p-value = <.001 (<α 0.05), so it can be concluded that there is a correlation between husband support and compliance with Fe tablet consumption among pregnant women in the working area of UPTD Penarik Mukomuko Health Center. The researcher recommends that husbands provide support and motivation to pregnant women to comply with Fe tablet consumption. The health center should improve the effectiveness of its services, monitoring, and counseling on the importance of Fe tablets for pregnant women.
