Qualia: Jurnal Ilmiah Edukasi Seni Rupa dan Budaya Visual merupakan jurnal ilmiah berisi artikel hasil penelitian, kajian teoretik, dan tinjauan buku bidang pendidikan seni rupa dan budaya visual. This research aims to assess the ability of grade IX students at SMP Labschool Jakarta in drawing with colored pencils and the impact of implementing Project-based Learning (PjBL) approach in cultural arts education. The results indicate that students face challenges in manual drawing and have limited understanding of proper drawing techniques. Therefore, it is essential to provide instruction on manual drawing techniques to establish a strong foundation and reduce dependence on digital technology. The application of PjBL in cultural arts education yields significant positive effects, enhancing students' creativity, understanding of cultural art concepts, collaboration among students, motivation to learn, and valuable hands-on experiences. The findings of this research support the importance of teaching manual drawing techniques in developing students' artistic skills and creativity. This study has several implications, including the development of understanding of colored pencil drawing techniques, introduction of new art tools, and the strengthening of the fundamentals of visual arts for the future development of digital art potential.

In addition to biodiversity, Indonesia also has culturaldiversity with the uniqueness of each region that producesproducts in form of folklore. This encourage the artist tomake a fictional comic with the theme of spices andIndonesian folklore which is expected to function as analternative media that can help introducing spices andIndonesian folklore. The concept of this design is a fictionalcomic with theme of clove spice and Maluku folklore“Buaya Tembaga” as well as pepper spice and Aceh folklore “Kisah Tujuh Anak Lelaki” which will be made intoa physical comic book with paneled illustrationvisualizations using the artist’s art style. Making of thisartwork is using research-led practice method, whichpractice is based on field research and references availablein internet and books about folklore and spices, and thenapplied in the process of making the comic as an artcreation thesis work. Overall, the creation of this work is in the form of fictionalcomics made with digital drawing techniques. The comicsare designed through various exploration and data collection independently as well as using surveys. The worksfeatured in this creation are the comic titled “Liam dan Buaya Tembaga” and “Petualangan di Hutan Raksasa”.The creation of this works is hoping to produce a new fictionstory that can be a media to introduce Indonesian folkloreand benefit of spices to the public.

NuArt Sculpture Park is one of the art galleries that has the potential to grow rapidly through the right promotion strategy. NuArt Sculpture Park is a 3 hectare art gallery or sculpture park located in Bandung, West Java and managed privately by I Nyoman Nuarta, a sculptor who was born in Bali on November 14, 1951. This gallery exhibits various sculptural works of art by artist Nyoman Nuarta. With various types of works on display, Nuart Sculpture Park is able to develop rapidly by carrying out effective promotions to attract public attention. The purpose of this study is to find out the promotions carried out by NuArt Sculpture Park and effective promotions for the future. By using a descriptive qualitative research method with a search for data focusing on observation and review of the literature this research provides an overview of the promotion strategy. The results of the study prove that NuArt Sculpture Park tends to promote on social media using only an Instagram account, even though this gallery has other social media accounts on Twitter and YouTube. In terms of promotion, it can be concluded that NuArt Sculpture Park still does not manage the online market properly and does not manage its accounts simultaneously and consistently. To overcome this, NuArt Sculpture Park needs to understand and manage social media accounts and package promotional information into unique and creative content.

This study aims to understand the social environment around children that can affect personality at the age of 12-14 years through the moral messages contained in the creation of comic strips. Introducing the value of character education in daily life through comics using digital drawing techniques. The work made into reading books is in the form of comic strips where there are stories packaged according to educational points that are easily understood and carried out by children aged 12-14 years. This comic consists of a three-strip panel model created with illustrative visualization using the artist's personal style. Using a qualitative method with a Research-led practice approach by collecting data first before the practice of creating works of art is carried out. Through the collection of observational data types, literature studies (preliminary study), interviews with expert sources (results of internships), and the results of exploration of works. Until the final results of the creation of works are implemented to the community, together with the collection of user opinion data (interviews). The work from this research has an output in the form of a comic book which is designed as an alternative media to support character education learning that can be utilized both inside and outside of school.

Picture stories can increase children's interest in reading from an early age so that children's brains are stimulated to develop, have higher imagination power, and increase vocabulary in children's speech by providing reading books that attract children's interest according to their age with stories containing various information about life experiences to develop their fantasy power. This research uses qualitative methods with a research type approach that is research-led practice. Where to carry out research in the field first and then apply it in practice to the process of creating Fine Art works in the form of printed illustrated stories. The artist's work in the form of a book entitled "The Journey of a Champion from Betawi Episode 1: Swapped Roles" was changed to, the printed illustrated story was made into 3 (three) works with different stories but with the same title, namely "I Want to be Like Pitung". Create work 1 that says Episode 1: Ali Likes to Protect, for work 2 that says Episode 2: Ali Likes to Help, and for work 3 that says Episode 3: Ali Likes to Share.

This study aims to analyze the inhibiting and supporting factors in batik learning so that batik learning at the Kembang Mayang Batik Studio can be further developed. The research method used qualitative methods with a case study approach with data collection techniques of observation, interviews and documentation. The data obtained was then reduced. The existence of this research aims to develop the creativity and skills of the participants of the Kembang Mayang Batik Studio, apart from that this research analyzes the supporting and inhibiting factors of batik learning for participants of the Kembang Mayang Batik Studio. The method used is a qualitative method with a case study approach, by collecting data through observation techniques, documentation and interviews with the studio and participants. Then the data is processed with triangulation techniques. The measuring instrument used to assess refers to eight aspects of learning. The results of the study show that there are several aspects of learning used, including the presence of participants and educators, the use of learning materials, collaborated learning methods, and evaluation. These aspects are supporting aspects, while inhibiting aspects include learning objectives, curricula, and learning media. The results of the evaluation of the participants' work reached 86.

The development of the times and the ease with which information is obtained, makes Indonesian people easily accept new ideologies whose application is not in accordance with the values of Pancasila. Lack of understanding of the values of Pancasila results in children discriminating in making friends, being arbitrary and selfish so that there are still many cases of bullying in elementary school students in Indonesia. The need to cultivate Pancasila through media that is easy to understand and does not suppress such as Picture Book. The creation of this work of art uses research methodology research, namely Research-Ied Practice where practice is based on research. The artist conducts research in the field first by looking for literature sources on the internet and books on the topic of Pancasila, which are then applied in practice in the process of creating Fine Art works in the form of picture books.The process of making a picture book is done with digital media, namely Drawing Tablet Ipad with Procreate and Adobe Photoshop applications, with a chibi illustration style and printed on art paper into a picture book consisting of 5 series. There are 5 characters who become the main role in each series, telling the daily life of children in which the values of Pancasila are implied.

This work aims to raise awareness about gender equality issues within the family, especially between parents, so that gender equality education can be provided to their children. The research uses a qualitative method with an artistic research approach. The creation concept are reflective art interests, figurative forms, and contemporary aesthetic principles. This interactive installation uses assemblage techniques. Artwork 1 incorporates a frame, watercolor montage, and magnets with specific symbols, depicting the failure of gender equality implementation in the family. Artwork 2 features watercolor paintings printed on umbrellas as the primary medium, illustrating the successful implementation of gender equality in the family.

The aim of this research is to uniquely introduce the decorative motifs and endemic animals of Borobudur Temple (as a cultural heritage site and super-priority destination) through a doodling activity book, specifically targeting the 14–25 age group. The method used is a qualitative approach with a design thinking framework. Data collection was conducted through questionnaires, interviews, observations, and product trials involving potential users. The research process included the identification of relief motifs (1,460 carvings) and endemic animals at Borobudur Temple, as well as the design of a doodling activity book based on data from questionnaires and interviews. Expert validation was carried out by a language expert, an activity book design expert, and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (as the policy holder of the super-priority destination). Product trials with respondents aged 14–25 resulted in positive responses. The outcome of the research is a tested and validated doodling activity book that serves as an interactive medium to introduce the visual richness of Borobudur Temple.

This study aims to revive public enthusiasm for dance art in the post-pandemic era through a photographic essay of Tari Piwuruk, using a practice-led research approach. The creative concept combines: (1) pragmatic art, (2) figurative forms, and (3) contemporary aesthetics. The process includes movement exploration, motion blur photography, and the construction of a visual narrative. The result is a photographic work that presents the dynamics of dance in an innovative way while conveying a message of resilience.
