This study examines youth political participation and electoral expectations in the 2024 Local Election of Lubuklinggau City, with a particular focus on university students as strategic voters in local democracy. Despite their growing demographic dominance, youth participation is often characterized by high electoral turnout but limited deliberative engagement. This research aims to analyze voting intention, attitudes toward money politics, sources of political information, priority issues, and factors influencing candidate preferences among young voters. The study employs a quantitative approach using a survey method involving 442 student respondents aged 18–35 years. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple inferential techniques. The findings indicate that youth voting intention is relatively high; however, political participation remains largely procedural rather than discursive. Most respondents demonstrate a strong normative rejection of money politics and rely heavily on social media as their primary source of political information. Education costs, employment opportunities, and living expenses emerge as the most influential policy issues shaping electoral preferences. This study contributes to the literature on local democratic participation by highlighting the gap between electoral participation and substantive political engagement among young voters. The findings underscore the importance of strengthening political education, media literacy, and program-based digital campaign strategies to enhance the quality of youth participation in local elections.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on various sectors of life, including immigration policy in Indonesia. This article aims to analyze the decision-making process in Indonesian immigration policy during the COVID-19 pandemic. Using a qualitative approach, this article examines policy documents and legislation, and conducts in-depth interviews with relevant policymakers. The results indicate that the immigration policy decision-making process during the pandemic was influenced by several factors, including: (1) pressure to prevent the spread of COVID-19, (2) the need to maintain economic stability, and (3) considerations of humanitarian aspects. In response to the pandemic, the Indonesian government has issued various dynamic and adaptive immigration policies. These policies include restrictions on the entry of foreign nationals, extensions of stay permits, and the repatriation of Indonesian citizens. While these policies have been successful in suppressing the number of COVID-19 cases, they have also presented several challenges, such as negative impacts on the tourism and investment sectors. This article concludes that the immigration policy decision-making process during the COVID-19 pandemic is complex and multidimensional. The government needs to continuously evaluate and improve existing immigration policies and strengthen coordination between relevant institutions in decision-making.

This study examines trends, growth, and volatility in UM-PTKIN admissions as strategic indicators of institutional adaptability within Indonesia’s State Islamic Higher Education system. Using longitudinal administrative data from 2022 to 2025, the study applies a quantitative descriptive–comparative approach to analyze admissions dynamics across different types of State Islamic Higher Education Institutions, namely State Islamic Universities (UIN), State Islamic Institutes (IAIN), and State Islamic Colleges (STAIN). Admissions performance is assessed through a horizontal trend index, compound annual growth rates (CAGR), and year-to-year volatility measures. The findings reveal a persistent national-level contraction in UM-PTKIN participation, indicating structural pressures affecting centralized admissions pathways. However, institutional-level analysis demonstrates pronounced heterogeneity. UIN institutions experience the sharpest decline, characterized by negative growth and high volatility, reflecting heightened exposure to national competition. IAIN institutions display mixed but relatively resilient trajectories, while STAIN institutions exhibit strong positive growth and sustained upward trends, despite overall system-level contraction. Volatility patterns further indicate that admissions instability is closely linked to institutional positioning rather than institutional scale alone. These results suggest that UM-PTKIN admissions dynamics function as strategic signals of enrolment governance capacity rather than as isolated performance outcomes. The study contributes to enrolment management and institutional differentiation literature by extending these frameworks to faith-based public higher education contexts. Policy implications highlight the need for differentiated enrolment governance strategies that recognize institutional heterogeneity to support sustainable admissions planning within Indonesia’s Islamic higher education system.

This study examines the influence of teacher readiness and perceived ease of use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the effectiveness of digital learning in secondary schools. The research addresses the growing need to optimize AI integration in education by focusing on human and technological factors that determine successful implementation. The objective of this study is to analyze the individual and simultaneous effects of teacher readiness and perceived ease of use on digital learning effectiveness. A quantitative approach with an explanatory survey design was employed. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire distributed to 198 secondary school teachers who have experience with digital learning technologies. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test the proposed hypotheses. The results reveal that teacher readiness has a positive and significant effect on digital learning effectiveness, indicating that teachers’ competence, confidence, and preparedness play a crucial role in enhancing instructional quality. Similarly, perceived ease of use significantly influences digital learning effectiveness, suggesting that user-friendly AI systems facilitate greater adoption and utilization in teaching practices. Furthermore, the combined effect of both variables demonstrates strong explanatory power, confirming that the integration of competent teachers and accessible technology leads to improved learning outcomes. The study also found an increase in digital learning effectiveness, particularly in student engagement and personalized learning. These findings highlight the importance of continuous professional development, user-centered technology design, and institutional support to maximize the benefits of AI in education.

This study aims to analyze China’s role as an external mediator in the Myanmar conflict following the 2021 military coup and the military operations of the Three Brothers Alliance. The study examines China’s transformation from a policy of non-intervention to active diplomatic engagement and its impact on regional stability. The theoretical framework used is mediation theory, specifically Zartman's concept of Mutually Hurting Stalemate (MHS), which explains that effective mediation occurs when the conflicting parties recognize the losses caused by the continuation of the conflict and are motivated to negotiate. This theoretical framework helps to understand China’s mediation strategy in facilitating dialogue amid the complex political and military stalemate in Myanmar. This study uses a qualitative library research method by analyzing secondary data from academic journals, policy reports, and reliable media sources such as The Irrawaddy, Reuters, and Al Jazeera. Thematic analysis is applied to identify patterns of China’s diplomatic, military, and economic involvement. The main findings reveal that China’s military and economic support has strengthened the political legitimacy of Myanmar's military junta, increased Myanmar's economic dependence on China’s, and exacerbated tensions with ethnic groups in Myanmar. Regionally, China’s influence has deepened divisions within ASEAN, affected relations with India, and heightened security tensions in the region.

Career maturity is a condition when an individual already has a view, preparation, and confidence in themselves in facing the professional world of work. Career maturity is a crucial thing that a student must have in order to facilitate achieving relevant work after graduating from college. This study aims to empirically test the effect of future time perspective on career maturity, with self-efficacy as a mediator on university students population. The results of the study showed that future time perspective has a direct and significant effect on career maturity (p <0.05). Self-efficacy was also proven to mediate the effect of future time perspective on career maturity (p <0.05). This shows that self-efficacy only partially mediates the relationship between future time perspective and career maturity, and there are still other variables that can fully mediate the relationship between the two, but were not examined in this study.

This study is motivated by the importance of fiscal policy in improving the financial performance of local governments in the decentralization era. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of local own-source revenue, intergovernmental transfers, and regional expenditure on the financial performance of local governments in Indonesia. This research uses a quantitative approach with secondary data derived from local government financial reports and regional budgets for the period 2020 to 2024 obtained from official government institutions. The analytical method employed is panel data multiple linear regression using EViews software. The results show that local own-source revenue and regional expenditure have a positive and significant effect on financial performance, while intergovernmental transfers have a negative and significant effect. Simultaneously, all independent variables significantly influence financial performance. These findings indicate that optimizing integrated fiscal policies is essential to improve local government financial performance. This study concludes that strengthening fiscal independence and effective expenditure management are key factors in enhancing the quality of regional financial management.

This study examines the impact of Middle East geopolitical dynamics on global inflation and energy market stability in 2026. The research addresses the growing concern that escalating geopolitical tensions disrupt global energy supply and contribute to rising inflationary pressures. The objective of this study is to analyze the direct effect of geopolitical risk on global inflation, assess its influence on energy market volatility, and identify the mediating role of energy price fluctuations. This research employs a quantitative approach using panel data from approximately 30 countries over the period 2010–2026. Secondary data were collected from reliable international sources, including the World Bank, International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the Geopolitical Risk Index (GPR). Data analysis was conducted using panel regression models and mediation analysis to examine both direct and indirect relationships among variables. The findings reveal that geopolitical tensions in the Middle East significantly increase global inflation, both directly and indirectly through heightened energy market volatility. Energy price fluctuations act as a partial mediator, indicating that disruptions in oil supply amplify inflationary pressures across countries, particularly in energy-importing economies. The study also finds that inflation responses vary across countries depending on their level of dependence on global energy markets. In conclusion, this study highlights the critical role of geopolitical stability in maintaining global economic balance. Policymakers are encouraged to strengthen energy diversification strategies and enhance international cooperation to mitigate the economic risks associated with geopolitical conflicts.
