Abstract

The increasing complexity of educational organizations requires a management approach that not only focuses on administrative aspects but also considers individual psychological factors within the organization. Management psychology is an important approach in understanding behavior, motivation, and decision-making processes that influence organizational performance. Therefore, studying the role of management psychology in leadership practices and educational organization management is relevant to be examined systematically. This study aims to analyze the role of management psychology in improving leadership effectiveness, work motivation, and organizational performance based on previous research findings. The method used is a literature review by searching for scientific articles through Google Scholar using keywords related to management psychology, leadership, and organizational performance. The collected articles were then selected based on topic relevance, year of publication, and research suitability for further analysis. The results indicate that the literature on management psychology in educational organizations highlights three main themes: the role of motivation in improving individual performance, the influence of leadership in creating a positive organizational climate, and the contribution of management psychology in decision-making and problem-solving processes. These findings show that integrating psychological approaches into organizational management can enhance leadership effectiveness and organizational performance. Future research is recommended to examine empirical implementation across various educational institution contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of academic activities on strengthening the civic responsibility character of students in the Civics and Citizenship Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Lampung. The research method used was quantitative with a descriptive approach. The sample size was 76 students from the 2022–2024 intake. Data collection techniques used questionnaires, tests, and interviews. Data analysis used simple linear regression with SPSS 25. The results showed a significant effect of academic activities on strengthening civic responsibility character, with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) and a coefficient of determination of 0.991. This indicates that academic activities contribute 99.1% to strengthening civic responsibility character. Academic activities such as scientific discussions, seminars, and involvement in research and community service have been shown to increase students' social participation, awareness, and responsibility as citizens.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of understanding of Human Rights (HAM) and anti-discrimination attitudes of students in the Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Lampung. This study used a quantitative method with a correlational approach. The research sample consisted of 76 students from the classes of 2022, 2023, and 2024. Data collection techniques used a test to measure human rights understanding and a questionnaire to measure anti-discrimination attitudes. Data analysis was carried out using a correlation test. The results of the study indicate a significant relationship between the level of human rights understanding and students' anti-discrimination attitudes. This indicates that the higher the students' human rights understanding, the higher their anti-discrimination attitudes. Thus, human rights understanding is an important foundation in forming inclusive and equitable social attitudes in the academic environment.

Abstract

Individual counseling service plays a strategic role in improving students' learning motivation, particularly within pesantren-based educational environments where students face unique challenges such as densely structured schedules and dormitory life. This study aims to describe the implementation of individual counseling services and identify supporting and inhibiting factors affecting its effectiveness in increasing students' learning motivation at UPT SMP Pesantren Pembangunan Muhammadiyah Tana Toraja. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the guidance and counseling teacher and five students, complemented by observation and documentation. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles and Huberman: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with validity verified through source and technique triangulation. Results indicate that individual counseling services—conducted through empathic, one-on-one interviews—significantly helped students recognize their learning barriers, develop self-awareness, and gradually build intrinsic learning motivation. Supporting factors included students' readiness to change, an empathic counselor–student relationship, and the disciplined environment of the pesantren. Inhibiting factors included students' physical and mental fatigue caused by packed daily schedules, students' reluctance to disclose problems, and the absence of a systematic scheduling and recording system for individual counseling sessions. The study concludes that individual counseling has significant potential to improve learning motivation when implemented systematically and responsively to student needs.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in improving students’ reading comprehension skills in Indonesian language subjects at the elementary school level. The method used in this research is a literature study by collecting various sources such as books, scientific articles, and previous research relevant to the topic. The collected data were analyzed using a qualitative descriptive approach to identify patterns, concepts, and findings related to the effectiveness of the PBL model. The results indicate that the PBL model can enhance students’ reading comprehension skills as it encourages critical thinking, active participation, and the ability to connect learning materials with real-life problems. Furthermore, PBL helps students understand texts more deeply through discussion and problem-solving activities

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the understanding of second-grade students at SDN 4 Palangka Raya regarding flat-sided spatial figures, especially cubes and rectangular prisms. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach with 14 students as the subject. Data were collected through written evaluation tests and classroom observations during learning activities. The results showed that most students were in the good category in understanding the shapes, characteristics, and elements of spatial figures. The use of concrete objects such as cartons and boxes helped students understand abstract material more easily. However, some students still had difficulty in counting edges and vertices. These findings indicate that concrete learning can improve students’ understanding of flat-sided spatial figures.

Abstract

This study was carried out to examine the concept and implementation of similarity in mathematics learning through a literature review approach. The research applied a literature study method by reviewing various national and international scientific articles published between 2018 and 2025 obtained from Google Scholar, Scopus, and other academic sources. Data analysis was conducted through several stages, namely collecting, classifying, and interpreting findings from the selected literature. The findings reveal that the concept of similarity has an important contribution in improving students’ geometric thinking, spatial skills, and problem-solving abilities. In addition, the use of visual learning media and contextual teaching methods is considered effective in helping students understand proportional relationships in similar figures. Nevertheless, several studies show that students still face difficulties in identifying corresponding sides and angles in similar shapes. Therefore, more creative and interactive learning strategies are needed to strengthen students’ understanding of similarity concepts in mathematics education. This study is expected to become a reference and provide an overview of previous studies regarding the effectiveness of teaching similarity concepts in mathematics learning. The study also highlights the importance of collaborative activities and technology integration to support meaningful and effective mathematics instruction.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the misconceptions experienced by fifth-grade elementary school students in understanding the concept of perimeter of plane figures. The research was conducted because some students still had difficulties in understanding perimeter concepts, particularly in applying formulas and calculating the total length of sides. This study employed a descriptive quantitative method involving fifth-grade students from SD Negeri 3 Menteng and SD Negeri 1 Palangka. Data were collected through written tests consisting of questions related to the perimeter of squares, rectangles, and triangles. The data were analyzed based on the accuracy of students’ answers and the types of errors found in the problem-solving process. The results indicated that most students were able to answer the questions correctly. However, several misconceptions were still identified, including incorrect formula usage, calculation errors, and limited understanding of perimeter concepts. In addition, differences in students’ levels of understanding were found between the two schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and compare the misconceptions of sixth-grade students on the Pythagorean Theorem material at SDN 5 Menteng and SDN 8 Menteng using a reasoned questionnaire. This study employed a descriptive quantitative approach supported by simple qualitative analysis of students’ reasons for their answers. The research subjects consisted of 30 students, with 15 students from each school. The research instrument was a reasoned questionnaire containing four statements related to the basic concepts and application of the Pythagorean Theorem. Quantitative data were analyzed using percentages, while qualitative data were analyzed by grouping students’ reasons into categories of understanding the concept, lack of conceptual understanding, and misconceptions. The results showed that most students had understood the basic concepts of the Pythagorean Theorem, especially the concept of right triangles. However, misconceptions were still found in the use of formulas to determine unknown sides and in recognizing certain right triangle patterns. Students of SDN 8 Menteng demonstrated a better level of understanding than students of SDN 5 Menteng. Therefore, more contextual, visual, and varied learning approaches are needed to help students understand the application of the Pythagorean Theorem comprehensively.

Abstract

This study investigates the social perceptions surrounding the lives of Indonesian migrant workers abroad, commonly referred to as expatriates, and examines the gap between these public perceptions and the actual experiences reported by workers themselves. Using a qualitative descriptive approach with in-depth interviews conducted with four informants working in South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, and Malaysia, this research explores five dimensions of expatriate life: social perceptions, financial management, social and cultural adaptation, mental and psychological conditions, and views on media representations of expatriate lifestyle. The findings reveal that social perceptions of expatriate life are predominantly shaped by selective content on social media and word-of-mouth narratives that emphasize prosperity while concealing complex realities. All informants reported significant discrepancies between public expectations and their lived experiences, including high cost of living, intense work pressure, cultural adaptation challenges, and persistent feelings of loneliness. Despite these challenges, informants demonstrated varying degrees of financial literacy and psychological resilience. The study highlights the critical importance of pre-departure financial education and psychological preparedness in supporting the well-being of Indonesian workers abroad. These findings contribute to the growing body of literature on expatriate adjustment and have practical implications for policies aimed at protecting and empowering Indonesian migrant workers.
