Abstract

In Indonesia, robo-advisors were introduced around 2017, driven by the increasing penetration of internet usage and the adoption of digital technology in the financial sector. The use of robo-advisors grew significantly during the pandemic, as retail investors sought convenient ways to invest without the need for in-person meetings. Several fintech companies, including Bareksa, Bibit, and Moduit, offer wealth management services utilizing robo-advisor technology. While the total Assets Under Management (AUM) in Indonesia have increased, the growth rate of AUM has declined, which may indicate reduced new investment inflows. This study examines the factors influencing users’ intention to adopt fintech robo-advisor services in Indonesia, using the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT 2) framework. The research is a quantitative descriptive study focusing on individuals in Indonesia who have used robo-advisor services via Bibit, Bareksa, or Moduit. Using purposive sampling, the study surveyed 150 respondents, with data analyzed through Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The study finds that all independent variables—performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, hedonic motivation, price value, and habit—significantly influence the adoption of fintech robo-advisors. Moreover, age, gender, and experience were identified as moderating factors. The strongest predictors of behavioral intention were performance expectancy, habit, and hedonic motivation, while habit, behavioral intention, and facilitating conditions were key drivers of use behavior. The study concludes that all factors significantly affect the adoption of fintech robo-advisors in Indonesia, and recommends that fintech companies leverage these findings to improve their features, communication strategies, and digital financial literacy initiatives.

Abstract

The imbalance between water availability and demand, the predominance of agriculture as the main water user, and limited storage infrastructure present major challenges for water resource management in Kebumen Regency, Central Java. This study adopts an integrative approach based on system dynamics modelling to design and analyze adaptive and sustainable water management strategies. The process includes identifying key variables, processing secondary data, and constructing causal loop and stock-flow diagrams to develop simulations of various water management scenarios, taking into account hydrological, social, economic, and environmental aspects. Simulation analysis indicates that developing food crops with low water requirements contributes most significantly to the sustainability of water availability, while increased rainfall does not automatically enhance water supply due to infrastructure constraints. These findings underscore the necessity of integrating agricultural policies, strengthening infrastructure, and implementing adaptive-holistic water resource management to address future water availability challenges.

Abstract

The existence of carbon footprint trade regulations and advances in carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) technology have led to the urgency of CCUS installations at all refineries globally. Captured CO2 can be used as a new economic opportunity by being reprocessed as a raw material for the production process. CO2 can be processed into DME through dry methane reforming, methanol synthesis, and methanol dehydration processes. The Indonesian government plans to replace LPG with DME. Thus, a process simulation using Aspen Plus was carried out to see the effectiveness of production along with an investment feasibility analysis in terms of NPV, IRR, PBP, and PI values and a probability review using Monte Carlo simulation. From the simulation on Aspen Plus, DME was produced as much as 868.04 tons/day. Furthermore, the economic parameters were calculated with a DME selling price of USD 1,300/ton and obtained an NPV value of USD 1,783,715,566.19, IRR 58.44%, PBP 2.041 years, and PI 3.675 so that the plant can be said to be feasible. From 1000 iterations carried out in the simulation, the four economic parameters show positive values so that the financial risk of the plant is relatively safe.

Abstract

PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda (PIM), a subsidiary of PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), plays a pivotal role in supporting national food security through the reliable operation of its fertilizer plants. Effective spare parts inventory management is crucial to ensure uninterrupted plant operations. However, challenges arise due to the high volume of spare parts managed and the intermittent or lumpy nature of demand. Inefficient inventory management has led to stockpiling of certain items and shortages of frequently used materials. This study aims to classify spare parts used in the CO? Compressor of PIM-1 Plant using a multi-criteria analysis method, considering critical factors related to maintenance and logistics. The classification categorizes spare parts into three groups: high, medium, and low. Out of 20 spare parts analyzed, 18 items were classified as high priority (requiring stock), while 2 items were classified as low priority (non-stock). Forecasting for the 18 high-priority items was conducted using three methods: Single Exponential Smoothing (SES), Syntetos-Boylan Approximation (SBA), and Croston. The forecasting errors were evaluated using the Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD). The results indicated that SES yielded the smallest error with an average MAD of 2.15, compared to SBA (2.24) and Croston (2.37). Implementing this approach resulted in a 22% reduction in inventory costs, decreasing the estimated inventory cost for 2023 from IDR 3.428 billion to IDR 2.681 billion. This demonstrates the importance of applying appropriate methods in spare parts management to enhance operational efficiency and support the company's objectives.
