Abstract

This paper explores the scientific and technological contributions of ancient China and ancient Greece, highlighting key innovations and their lasting impacts. Ancient China was characterized by a practical and empirical approach to scientific inquiry, resulting in significant advancements in agriculture, astronomy, medicine, engineering, and information dissemination.  Greek contributions to medicine, guided by the Hippocratic Oath, laid the groundwork for ethical medical practice. Greek engineering and architectural innovations, exemplified by structures like the Parthenon, demonstrated their mastery of design and aesthetics. Greek advancements in astronomy and the philosophical ideas of Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle profoundly shaped Western scientific methodology and intellectual traditions. By comparing these two civilizations, the paper underscores the importance of both practical application and theoretical inquiry in the development of science and technology. The influence of cultural and philosophical contexts on scientific inquiry is also examined, highlighting the interplay between science, technology, and society. The legacies of ancient China and ancient Greece have profound implications for our understanding of the development of science and technology, emphasizing the cumulative nature of scientific progress and the enduring value of ancient knowledge. This study provides valuable insights into the rich heritage of these two great civilizations, offering inspiration for future advancements and the continued integration of ancient wisdom into contemporary practices.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of the differentiated learning approach to improve student literacy and numeracy. The type of research used was quasi-experimental, with research subjects consisting of 60 students in class XI Multimedia A and XI Multimedia B at Muhammadiyah 1 Sleman Vocational High School. Data was collected through tests, observations and interviews. Data analysis techniques include validity and reliability tests for instrument tests as well as normality tests, homogeneity tests, and t-tests to determine the effectiveness of differentiated approaches to increase student literacy and numeracy, as well as Gain tests to determine the type of improvement. The research results showed that the data was normally distributed and homogeneous, so it was continued with the t-test. The t-test results are 0,000 < 0,05, meaning that the differentiated learning approach is effective in increasing student literacy and numeracy with an increase in the Gain test of 0.72 in the high category

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the paradoxical implications of artificial intelligence (AI) in military education, focusing on its potential benefits and drawbacks. A qualitative research approach, involving a review of relevant literature and analysis of military education policies related to technology integration, was employed. Findings indicate that AI can significantly enhance training effectiveness, personalize learning experiences, and streamline data management. However, concerns such as privacy breaches, overreliance on technology, and the decline of fundamental military skills have also emerged. Implications of this research are expected to provide insights for policymakers in developing more effective military education policies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of e-presence in improving teacher discipline through a literature review. The research uses qualitative methods, including formulating research problems, collecting relevant literature, reviewing the materials, and analyzing the data. The primary data sources are national journal articles published from 2012 to 2022, with six articles deemed relevant to the topic. The findings indicate that e-presence effectively enhances teacher discipline by facilitating accountability, accurately tracking attendance, and promoting punctuality. Additionally, the use of e-presence systems is associated with better time management and adherence to institutional policies. This research highlights the importance of adopting technological solutions, such as e-presence, in educational institutions to address disciplinary issues among teachers. By ensuring transparent monitoring and fostering professionalism, e-presence serves as a valuable tool to improve teacher performance and institutional efficiency. These findings provide significant insights for policymakers and educational leaders in implementing innovative strategies to optimize teacher discipline.

Abstract

The development of technology and information has influenced various aspects of human life, including education. With these changes, the education sector requires adjustments in learning strategies to align with the advancements in digital information technology. This study aims to identify suitable learning strategies for elementary schools in the digital era. It employs a qualitative research approach using a literature review method. Data were collected through an analysis of various sources, such as journals and books, and analyzed using Miles and Huberman's data analysis technique, which consists of three stages: data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Several learning strategies can be implemented by elementary school teachers in the digital era, including the development of learning models, evaluation techniques, and learning media that leverage technology. The use of technology-based models, evaluation tools, and media is expected to facilitate students in achieving their learning objectives.
