Abstract

The transformation of educational institutions in the era of rapid social and technological change has created new challenges for educational leaders, particularly in maintaining quality, institutional values, and sustainable development. Conventional leadership approaches that emphasize administrative functions are increasingly questioned because they often fail to address moral, cultural, and human-centered dimensions of educational management. Therefore, leadership models based on ethical and value-oriented frameworks are becoming an important alternative for strengthening educational quality. This study aims to explore the implementation of prophetic leadership as a transformative approach to improving the quality of education. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis involving the madrasah principal, teachers, and educational staff. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion verification. The findings reveal that prophetic leadership is implemented through four main dimensions derived from the prophetic mission of Prophet Muhammad SAW, namely humanization, liberation, tolerance and plurality, and moderation. These values are operationalized through the prophetic characteristics of sidiq (integrity), amanah (responsibility), tabligh (effective communication), and fathonah (intellectual competence). The implementation of these principles contributes to strengthening teacher commitment, improving organizational culture, and supporting continuous improvement in educational quality. This study concludes that prophetic leadership provides a transformative leadership framework that integrates ethical values, professional competence, and social responsibility. The study suggests that educational institutions, particularly Islamic schools, should consider prophetic leadership as an alternative model for responding to contemporary leadership challenges and achieving sustainable educational quality improvement.

Abstract

This study investigates how an integrated word-of-mouth (WOM) strategy contributes to strengthening the competitiveness of An-Nadwa Integrated Elementary School in an increasingly competitive educational market. Employing a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis involving school leaders, teachers, parents, and other key stakeholders. The data were analyzed using an interactive analysis model comprising data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with triangulation employed to enhance trustworthiness. The findings reveal that the school's WOM strategy operates through three interconnected stages: attracting community attention, fostering interest through positive educational experiences and institutional reputation, and strengthening the desire to enroll by reinforcing trust and perceived educational quality. The study further demonstrates that the effectiveness of WOM extends beyond interpersonal communication by integrating institutional values, service quality, stakeholder engagement, and community participation into a coherent marketing strategy. These findings contribute to the literature on educational marketing by illustrating how an integrated WOM strategy can generate sustainable competitive advantage for educational institutions. Practically, the study provides strategic insights for school leaders seeking to strengthen institutional branding and increase community engagement in highly competitive educational environments.

SDN Betek Taman 01 realizes that educational institutions do not stand independently, so the community's existence must be the key to building a good image for the school. Of the six principles of communication (Qaulan Sadida, Qaulan Baligha, Qaulan Ma'rufa, Qaulan Karima, Qaulan Layyinan, and Qaulan Maysura) that have been applied, it explains that the school first establishes a reciprocal or two-way relationship with the school community as in educators and education staff, students, and parents of students. The six principles above represent the four values in communication: respect, cooperation and understanding, and modesty. These communication principles are also the key in upholding the dignity of humanity as a whole, educating humans constantly to respect and maintain respect for themselves and others.

Abstract

Although the two-way symmetrical communication model has been widely discussed in public relations studies, limited research has examined its implementation in Islamic educational institutions, particularly in strengthening reciprocal relationships between madrasahs and local communities. This study aims to investigate how MA Subulus Salam implements the two-way symmetrical communication model to establish mutually beneficial relationships with the surrounding community. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed through interviews with key stakeholders, including education administrators, Islamic boarding school administrators, regional boarding school leaders, and school management, complemented by document analysis. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification, while the credibility of the findings was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings reveal that the implementation of the two-way symmetrical communication model is reflected in three main communication practices: disseminating information to students' parents, conducting persuasive communication with community members through both direct and indirect approaches, and systematically accommodating and responding to public opinions to improve institutional policies. These communication practices foster mutual understanding, trust, and collaborative relationships between the madrasah and the community while facilitating mutually beneficial solutions to emerging issues. This study contributes to the literature by demonstrating how the two-way symmetrical communication model can be effectively adapted within Islamic educational institutions to strengthen community engagement and institutional sustainability.
