Abstract

This study investigates the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Madrasah learning to improve the quality of education. The main issue addressed is how AI-assisted learning media can help Madrasah students understand the learning material, foster creativity, and enhance communication skills. The purpose of this study is to explore the impact of AI-based media on the learning process and student learning outcomes in Madrasah. This research employs a mixed-methods approach with qualitative analysis assisted by NVivo to explore the experiences of students and teachers in using AI technology. The findings indicate that AI media significantly facilitates the understanding of learning materials, encourages student creativity, and improves their ability to communicate both verbally and non-verbally. The impact of AI media not only supports the improvement of the quality of learning but also provides a more interactive and personalized learning experience. The implications of this research show that while AI technology holds great potential, access to technological infrastructure and data security for students remain major challenges. This study recommends further research and the development of policies that support equitable access and data protection for more effective AI implementation in Madrasah.

Abstract

This study examines the role of artificial intelligence (AI)-based learning media in shaping the self-identity of elementary school children, by highlighting the relational contribution of family and social environment in the context of Islamic education. The main problem lies in how AI can be used not only to improve learning outcomes, but also as a pedagogical instrument in strengthening children's character and self-identity expression. The purpose of this study is to explore the effectiveness of integrating AI media in the learning process and its impact on students' cognitive, affective, and social dimensions. This study uses a qualitative approach with a field study at State Elementary School 2 Konawe Selatan, supported by thematic analysis using the N-Vivo device. The results of the study indicate that AI media significantly improves conceptual understanding, multimodal communication skills, and forms students' self-identity that is more reflective, confident, and collaborative. In addition, AI also functions as a relational bridge between teachers, students, and parents. These findings provide important implications for the design of technology-based Islamic pedagogy as well as recommendations for curriculum development, teacher training, and future-oriented madrasah education policies.

Abstract

This study addresses the issue of inadequate internalization of civic values in Civic Education (Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan or PPKn) at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) level, which remains dominated by conventional and less contextual teaching methods. The research aims to examine the effectiveness of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model in fostering students’ civic attitudes through PPKn instruction. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study design, this study was conducted at an MI in Kendari City. The informants consisted of PPKn teachers and upper-grade students. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with validity ensured through source and technique triangulation. The results reveal that the implementation of PjBL significantly enhances students’ sense of responsibility, cooperation, tolerance, and social awareness. These findings contribute to the theory of experiential civic education and offer practical implications for developing more transformative, contextual, and student-centered PPKn learning in primary Islamic schools.

Abstract

This study aims to explore how Project-Based Learning (PjBL) based on the nation's struggle stories can enhance the spirit of nationalism among students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) in Kendari City. The main issue addressed is how to integrate the teaching of national struggle history to foster a sense of nationalism among young learners. This research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with teachers and students, classroom observations, and documentation of learning products. The data analysis technique used is thematic analysis, with data validity ensured through source triangulation. The findings show that the implementation of PjBL based on national struggle stories significantly improves students' understanding of national history and strengthens their sense of nationalism. Through active involvement in projects such as creating models and documentary videos, students feel more connected to national values. As a result, they demonstrate improved national character, a greater sense of pride in Indonesia’s history, and a stronger spirit of unity. This research provides important implications for curriculum development and experience-based teaching methodologies that emphasize national values in primary education.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of contextual teaching and learning (CTL) strategies in enhancing civic attitudes among students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (Islamic Elementary Schools). The research was motivated by the persistent gap between civic knowledge and actual civic behavior observed in elementary-level learners, which indicates the need for more meaningful and experience-based learning approaches. The objective of this study is to explore how CTL strategies contribute to the development of civic attitudes through real-life contextualization of learning materials. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study design, the research was conducted at a Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in Kendari, Indonesia. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and documentation, and analyzed using an interactive model involving data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that contextual learning fosters students’ active participation, strengthens value internalization, and improves civic behaviors such as tolerance, social responsibility, and democratic engagement. These results imply that CTL is an effective pedagogical strategy for character-building in civic education, particularly within religious-based elementary institutions. The study recommends broader implementation of CTL in civic instruction and further research to evaluate its long-term impact on students’ character development.
