Abstract

The rapid advancement of blockchain technology presents new opportunities and challenges for the Islamic financial system, particularly in ensuring compliance with Shariah principles. As Islamic finance continues to grow, there is a pressing need to explore how digital innovations such as smart contracts can be integrated without violating core religious tenets. This study explores the potential application of smart contracts in Islamic finance, focusing on how blockchain technology can support transactions that comply with Shariah principles. Using a qualitative approach with triangulation methods, the research combines systematic literature review, in-depth interviews, and comparative analysis between smart contract frameworks and classical Shariah contracts such as murabaha, mudarabah, and ijarah. The study examines how smart contracts can enhance transparency, reduce operational costs, and minimize human error while ensuring adherence to Islamic legal and ethical standards. The findings indicate that blockchain-based smart contracts can effectively automate Islamic financial transactions when designed with proper attention to the prohibition of riba (interest) and gharar (uncertainty). The research highlights the need for close collaboration between Shariah scholars and technology developers to ensure compliance. This study suggests that smart contracts hold significant promise for increasing efficiency, trust, and transparency in the Islamic financial ecosystem

Abstract

Islamic Rural Banks (BPRS) in Indonesia face persistent challenges in achieving optimal operational efficiency, which is crucial for their sustainability and ability to serve the unbanked population. However, the factors driving this efficiency remain underexplored, especially in relation to financial inclusion, internal bank characteristics, and macroeconomic dynamics. This study aims to examine whether financial inclusion, bank-specific factors (capital adequacy ratio, profitability, and default risk), and macroeconomic variables (inflation and exchange rate) influence the operational efficiency of BPRS, as measured by the Operating Efficiency Ratio (OER). Utilizing time series data from January 2014 to June 2024 and applying the ARDL approach, the results reveal that only the exchange rate (in the short term) and capital adequacy ratio (in the long term) significantly affect efficiency. In contrast, financial inclusion, profitability, default risk, and inflation do not show a statistically significant impact in either time frame. Practically, these findings indicate that BPRS managers should prioritize strengthening internal capital structures and managing exposure to exchange rate fluctuations, rather than relying solely on expanding financial inclusion or profitability improvements to enhance efficiency. Theoretically, the results highlight the limited role of financial inclusion in directly boosting operational performance without sufficient institutional readiness, and underscore the

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the Islamic capital market as a Catalyst For Sharia Investment. The method used in this research is a systematic literature review with the PRISMA approach with a time span of 2018-2025. The research analyzed 276 articles based on data obtained from google scholar and 46 of these articles were indexed by Scopus Q1, Q2, and Q3. And only 15 articles were eligible in this research. The results show that Islamic capital markets play an important role as a driver of Islamic investment by providing a forum for investors who want to invest according to sharia principles and become a source of financing for companies that operate according to sharia principles. Islamic capital markets also have a significant influence on a country's economy, especially in the field of investment because in the real sector, investment is considered to have a positive impact on the economy, so that if the development of the real sector increases, the country's production will also increase. One way a country can develop its real sector is by developing the financial sector.

Abstract

With the increasing awareness of Sharia-based financial services and the growth of the Sharia banking industry, it is important to understand the determinants of career decisions of the younger generation. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence students' career interest in Sharia banking through Sharia banking knowledge and religiosity. This study uses quantitative data with a questionnaire conducted through Google Forms, distributed to students who have completed the Sharia banking course. The population was 110 respondents at STAI Hubbulwathan, and 63 respondents were research samples who filled out the questionnaire online. The results of the study showed that career interest in Sharia banking was greatly influenced by knowledge of Sharia banking with a p-value of 0.006 and the level of religiosity had a significant effect with a p-value of 0.002 on career interest in Sharia banking. The importance of higher education institutions integrating Islamic banking material more deeply into the curriculum, the need for socialization regarding career prospects in Islamic banking, and Islamic principles in economics are important so that students better understand the opportunities in this sector. Providing training programs, seminars, and short courses can also be an alternative to improve students' practical knowledge.
