Abstract

The increasing demand for sustainable water treatment in regions with constrained access to clean water underscores the necessity for targeted interventions. This community service initiative (PKM) focused on establishing a sustainable water treatment training program in Pasiang Village, Polewali Mandar, with an emphasis on biofiltration technology. Utilizing a SWOT analysis and a pre- and post-program evaluation framework, the study assessed both the challenges and opportunities related to implementing a localized water treatment system. Findings highlighted the community’s reliance on groundwater sources and limited familiarity with surface water treatment technologies as primary obstacles. The training program encompassed both informational sessions on biofiltration technology and hands-on practice in operating the treatment system. Evaluations revealed notable advancements in participants' competencies, including a 50% improvement in practical skills, a 47% increase in technology utilization, and a 40% gain in foundational knowledge. Participant satisfaction ranged from 85% to 100% across program aspects, with particularly high ratings in program benefits and alignment with community needs. The adoption of biofiltration technology has demonstrated its viability as a sustainable water treatment solution in rural contexts, supported by substantial community engagement and comprehension of the technology. This PKM program thus offers a replicable model for developing sustainable water treatment training frameworks adaptable to similar communities.

Abstract

Optimalisasi kualitas polipropilena (PP) daur ulang menjadi tantangan utama di perusahaan manufaktur plastik, dalam upaya menekan biaya dan mendukung keberlanjutan lingkungan. Penggunaan PP daur ulang yang telah mengalami siklus pemrosesan berulang menyebabkan degradasi sifat mekanik, peningkatan produk cacat (NG), serta kerugian finansial. Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) yang dilaksanakan oleh Politeknik STMI Jakarta bertujuan mengatasi masalah ini melalui penambahan antioksidan untuk meningkatkan kualitas PP daur ulang. Metode yang diterapkan meliputi analisis kebutuhan, pengujian, validasi, optimasi proses produksi, pelatihan tenaga kerja, serta monitoring kualitas produk. Hasil uji coba menunjukkan bahwa penambahan antioksidan primer dan sekunder meningkatkan sifat mekanik PP daur ulang mendekati kualitas PP virgin dan mengurangi jumlah produk NG. Evaluasi monitoring menunjukkan bahwa program ini tidak hanya meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan tenaga kerja tetapi juga memperluas kapasitas produksi perusahaan. Survei kepuasan mitra menunjukkan hasil "puas" dan "sangat puas", sementara indikator peningkatan level keberdayaan mitra, mencakup peningkatan kualitas produk, jumlah produk, dan kemampuan manajemen, mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan. Kesimpulannya, kegiatan PkM ini berhasil meningkatkan efisiensi produksi dan kualitas produk dengan solusi biaya rendah, mendukung prinsip ekonomi sirkular, serta memenuhi target peningkatan keberdayaan mitra secara menyeluruh.

Abstract

Penerapan metode Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) pada mesin press SEYI SN2-300 di PT Ganding Toolsindo bertujuan meningkatkan efisiensi pergantian dies dalam produksi. Tahapan program mencakup analisis proses, sosialisasi, pelatihan, pendampingan, serta evaluasi penerapan SMED. Implementasi menghadapi kendala pada identifikasi aktivitas internal dan eksternal serta adaptasi teknisi terhadap metode baru. Dengan analisis dan pelatihan intensif, beberapa aktivitas internal setup berhasil diubah menjadi eksternal, sehingga waktu setup turun menjadi 29,58 menit dari sebelumnya 35,73 menit. Selain mengurangi downtime, SMED mendukung sistem operasional yang lebih terstruktur, meningkatkan standar kerja, dan kualitas produksi. Evaluasi menunjukkan efektivitas SMED dapat terus ditingkatkan dengan alat bantu tambahan. Implementasi ini tidak hanya meningkatkan efisiensi, tetapi juga membangun budaya kerja disiplin dan berkelanjutan yang mendukung efisiensi waktu, pengurangan biaya, dan peningkatan kualitas produksi.

Abstract

Basically, every job will have its own safety hazard risk factors, especially the automotive industry. Automotive industry work practices have Occupational Safety and Health (K3) risks for all workers in the work environment. Potential hazards that will be faced include exposure to chemicals, infections, allergies, electricity and physical such as slipping, falling, being scratched, stabbed, and hit which depend on the type of activity carried out in the area. Seeing aspects of the physical work environment such as the layout of practice equipment, personal protective equipment, work clothes, cleanliness of the room, lighting, irrigation, air conditioning in the work space is very important in creating a safe environment free from the risk of accidents or occupational diseases. This is what drives the Abdimas team to encourage socialization and implementation of K3 and 5R at the May Car Bodyworks Workshop with the aim of increasing efficiency, productivity, and quality in work activities at the Workshop. This activity uses a descriptive qualitative method, where the technique of collecting data information is selected in a specific way, and uses observation methods with interviews and documentation and is analyzed in the application. The results obtained are in the form of a report on the implementation and application of the 5R program in the Workshop and can implement the 5R and K3 culture programs.
