Abstract

Occupational health and safety is a method used to protect workers from accidents and occupational diseases. This occupational safety and health effort does not only apply to the industrial sector such as manufacturing, mining, construction, this also applies to the small industrial sector such as the tile-making industry. The purpose of this community service is to provide health education to tile industry workers related to health and work safety. This service activity was carried out at UD Genteng Baru Muncul Jember. The results of the community service carried out in the tile industry showed an increase in knowledge from the average pre-test was 12.7 and the post-test was 14 (the highest score was 15). Another result of this service shows that health complaints among tile industry workers are pain in the joints and back and fatigue due to heat and thirst, several other complaints that arise include cough, shortness of breath, visual and hearing impairment. Work accidents that have occurred to workers include machine injuries and falls. Occupational health and safety must be a concern for business owners with regard to providing a safe environment as well as appropriate personal protection and balanced by obedient behavior of workers in using the prescribed personal protection.

Abstract

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the four main non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are diabetes, malignancy, chronic respiratory disease, and cardiovascular disease. Service activities are carried out at the community level to play an active role in managing stability and health in the family. The method of community service activities is by taking an approach in these promotive activities through 1) analysis of knowledge, attitudes, and behavior of a Healthy and Clean Lifestyle (PHBS), 2) identification of health problems, 3) health checks, 4) making counseling media, 5) conducting counseling health, 6) FGD to form CERDIK caring community groups. The description of the results of the activity shows that several factors trigger NCDs, including most of them the elderly, a family history of hypertension, abdominal circumference in women is more than 80 cm and in men 90 cm, BMI is mostly overweight and obese, systolic pressure is more than of 140 mmHg, visceral fat of more than 10, the random blood sugar of more than 180 mg/dl, uric acid of more than 6 in women and more than 7 in men and other good health management practices such as regular health checks and uses MSG which is often in every day. Community Service activities carried out are very useful in screening non-communicable diseases which are often overlooked and trigger NCDs. This activity provides awareness exposure to the public to understand their health conditions and carry out prevention (health promotion) and rehabilitation starting with yourself and your family.

Abstract

Partners' health problems include the increasing problem of Diabetes Mellitus which causes a lot of stress for the elderly, and the absence of an activity program to reduce stress for the elderly in Jumerto village. The mindfulness training program is an exercise program developed to reduce stress and reduce the occurrence of health problems experienced by the elderly caused by psychological disorders. This program was developed in line with the Muhammadiyah University of Jember's service strategic plan and government policies related to elderly health care. This program works with the elderly posyandu in Jumerto Village, Patrang District, Jember Regency. The targets and outcomes resulting from this community service program are 1) service products in the form of knowledge and mindfulness training for the elderly with Diabetes Mellitus and posyandu cadres, 2) the availability of simple modules or books about the physical and mental health of the elderly with Diabetes Mellitus, 3) articles that national accreditation. The methods that will be used to achieve this goal are 1) mentoring, 2) education and 3) practice of mindfulness exercises in the elderly with Diabetes Mellitus and elderly Posyandu cadres with an evaluation of the process and results of the mindfulness training program activities. The mindfulness training program was carried out from April 24 -May 16 2023 every Saturday at the Jumerto Village Hall, Patrang District, Jember Regency, and was attended by 45 elderly people. Activities carried out include socialization of activities, screening of the physical and mental health of the elderly and mindfulness exercises. The results of the process evaluation carried out on 45 elderly people participating in the mindfulness training program were carried out by facilitators accompanied by 2 elderly cadres and 2 nurses starting on April 24 2023. The results evaluation was carried out on May 16 2023 and found 100% of the elderly expressed satisfaction with the mindfulness program at Posyandu Elderly with proven patients with Diabetes Mellitus Most of them experience mild stress (66.6%). So that this program can be continued by the Elderly Posyandu

Abstract

Posyandu is the most accessible place for health services for the community. The service system at Posyandu has the concept of 5 table Posyandu services. This community service activity aims to optimize the 5-desk service at Posyandu through training of health cadres to support stunting screening. This activity was attended by 25 health cadres. The material provided in this counseling is the Service System at Posyandu using table 5 system: table 1: Registration, table 2: Weighing, table 3: Filling in KMS, table 4: Individual counseling based on KMS, table 5: Family planning and health services. Extension and training activities must be carried out continuously, so that health cadres can increase their knowledge and skills. By increasing the knowledge and skills of cadres, it will certainly improve the quality of services at Posyandu.
