Abstract

The research was conducted on managing traditional alcoholic beverages (sopi) as a source of income and the feasibility of community businesses. This study uses descriptive research, which describes the phenomena that occur at the research location and then explains them using frequency tables and illustrations. Data collection techniques used are observation, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques are conducted descriptively, and quantitative data is analyzed using frequency tables. Meanwhile, income analysis is calculated using the Break Even Point formula, and business feasibility is assessed using the R/C ratio formula. Based on the research results, the income analysis from processed sopi shows a break-even point from the production results, with excess income compared to the total expenses incurred to obtain that income amounting to Rp. 1,500,000. The feasibility of the Sopi processing business is considered viable, with a calculated result of 2.73 using the formula. This calculation indicates that R/C > 1, meaning that the farming business is feasible to pursue

Abstract

Study of the factors causing damage to coral reef ecosystems in the coastal areas of Assilulu State, Leihitu sub-district, Central Maluku regency. Based on the results of initial research, information was found that the people of Assilulu often throw rubbish or waste into the sea, carrying out destructive fishing, coastal development, and coral mining. This research aims to examine the conditions and factors causing damage to coral reefs in the coastal areas of Assilulu State. This research uses a quantitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques in this research were observation, interviews, documentation, coral reef data samples, a population of 25 people, and questionnaires. The data analysis techniques used in this research are data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The results of this research show that the factors causing damage to coral reef ecosystems in the coastal areas of Assilulu State include two factors, namely natural factors (non-anthropogenic), including temperature, brightness, and coral predators, and human factors (anthropogenic), among others. : dumping marine waste, using destructive fishing gear, mining coral to make building materials and shellfish for consumption, and carrying out marine tourism activities, which are factors that cause damage to coral reef ecosystems, namely the result of human factors, namely 80.98% when compared with natural factors, namely 58.09%. The percentage of coral reef cover ranged between 23.33% at transect location 1, 33.33% at transect location 2, and 26.67%. at transect location 3. According to the Ministry of Environment number 4 of 2001, the percentage of live coral cover is in people with low incomes in the moderate category.

Abstract

In its development, Indonesia faces challenges due to high population growth, creating an imbalance in the workforce and a shortage of jobs. Population growth positively impacts the economy but also brings negative consequences in the form of unemployment and income inequality. Many workers, especially street vendors (PKL), turn to the informal sector. Ambon City, as the center of government of Maluku Province, has experienced significant growth with urban governance problems, especially related to street vendors. The revitalization of Mardika Market is an effort to improve governance. Still, the relocation of traders creates new issues, such as changes in the function of kiosks and trading activities on the streets. A holistic approach is needed to address Indonesia's complexity in urban development. This study uses a descriptive survey method, utilizing the Arikunto (2010) approach, with a population of less than 100, making it a population study. The aim is to interpret changes in the function of sidewalks in Ambon City, especially Mardika Beach Road, into a place for street vendors to trade. The research object involved 10 street vendors. The Mardika Terminal has an essential economic role in Ambon City. Sidewalks, which should be for pedestrians, are misused as trading areas. Research shows a decline in the function of sidewalks, which is detrimental to pedestrian comfort. This conversion disrupts pedestrian activities and occurs because the Mardika market is being renovated, forcing street vendors to use the sidewalk to trade.

Abstract

The economic development of a country is often measured by economic growth, which is an indicator of the success of development. National development aims to improve the welfare of society, which can be achieved through economic growth. Social and economic factors are interrelated, with the position of individuals in society being influenced by economic factors, education level, and income. Modes of transportation, such as asphalt roads, play an essential role in the economic development of society by increasing accessibility. In 2015, the Namtabung village government collaborated with the provincial government to build an asphalt road, which has since improved connectivity between villages, reduced economic limitations and accelerated the growth of the village economy. This study carries a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, involving interviews and observations as the primary data sources. Researchers are actively involved in the events or situations being studied, creating a deep understanding. Descriptive qualitative research methods investigate research objects in a natural context or actual situation without experimental manipulation. The population consists of 15 members of the Namtabung village community who have or do not have a mode of transportation. The sample was selected by simple random sampling, taking five people from 3 RTs to get 15 community samples. This approach allows researchers to gain in-depth insight into the impact of transportation modes on the daily lives of the Namtabung village community. The construction of asphalt roads and transportation modes in Namtabung Village has positively impacted social and economic aspects. Education, health, housing, and community income have increased significantly. The agricultural and fisheries sectors have also developed with adequate transportation, even to neighboring villages. Land transportation facilitates the sale of products, improves mobility, and supports access to education and health services.

Abstract

Land evaluation is used as a strategic planning tool. Therefore, it must be classified based on capability and suitability classes. The land of Poka Village has been utilized for agricultural activities without considering the suitability class, so the results have yet to be maximized. Evaluation is needed. This study aims to determine the condition of land suitability for cultivating land spinach (ipomoea pair) in Poka Village and to determine the proper recommendations in land management for cultivating land spinach in Poka Village based on land suitability studies. The method used is a field observation survey. The distance of the observation point is 20 m per 1 bed. The study results showed that two land suitability classes were limiting factors: Base Saturation (KB) and C-Organic (Marginal Suitability S3). Efforts to overcome this problem are made through moderate management levels, including liming or adding organic materials such as compost or green manure.

Abstract

The Environment encompasses the entire complexity of space involving natural elements, resources, energy, conditions, and living things, including the role of humans and their behavior, which directly or indirectly impact nature, survival, human welfare, and other living things. In this context, the physical Environment becomes a concrete aspect of natural and artificial elements. The natural Environment involves land, rivers, floodplains, slopes, water bodies, soil, and vegetation. At the same time, the built Environment includes physical structures, public infrastructure, and other artificial elements. This study uses survey methods and samples from the mining worker population to focus on the impact of mining activities for class C materials in the Wayori River, Negeri Passo, Baguala District, Ambon City. The study's results highlight that changes in physical environmental conditions in mining areas can significantly impact ecosystems and human health. Unprotected land is susceptible to erosion, threatening soil quality, and potentially detrimental to agricultural land in the future. In addition, mining activities can also affect the population of soil microorganisms that are important for plant nutrients, potentially affecting plant life indirectly. The conclusions of this study provide an in-depth understanding of the complex relationships between human activities, especially mining, with the physical Environment and their implications for ecosystem and environmental health.
