Abstract

Milk is an important source of nutrition that is rich in protein, fat, vitamins, minerals and probiotic microorganisms. However, the high nutrient content also increases the risk of microbial growth that can cause spoilage if not handled properly. One method to extend the shelf life of milk is through the pasteurization process. Babadan Village, located on the slopes of Mount Kelud, has great potential in the dairy farming sector as the main source of community income. However, there is still a lack of understanding about hygienic and innovative milk processing. This research aims to increase awareness of safe milk processing techniques and diversification of dairy-based products in Babadan Village to support the local economy and educational tourism. The methods used include coordination with stakeholders, observation in the field, and education through hands-on practice of milk processing with various flavors. This activity involved UMSIDA Group 1 KKN-P 2025 students and local elementary school students in understanding the importance of pasteurization, sterilization, and dairy product innovation. The results of the activity showed an increased understanding of the community, especially elementary school students, about the importance of good milk processing to increase product durability and selling value. This program also has the potential to increase the attractiveness of educational tourism in Babadan Village, which is expected to have a positive impact on the community.

Abstract

Elementary education serves as a crucial foundation in shaping cognitive abilities, comprehension, and the capacity to express ideas both in written and spoken forms. Among the fundamental competencies that need to be instilled early on are reading and writing skills, which are integral components of literacy. This training program is designed to enhance teachers' competencies in developing students' literacy skills through a participatory training approach and intensive mentoring. The training is conducted in the form of a three-day interactive workshop, covering effective reading strategies, creative writing techniques, and the use of both digital and conventional literacy media. The program also emphasizes the importance of fostering a literate and collaborative learning environment, involving teachers, students, and parents in literacy-based learning activities. Success is measured by increased student participation in reading and writing activities, the availability of contextual supplementary reading materials, and the establishment of a simple yet sustainable literacy culture in the classroom. Through this initiative, the goal is to create a strong foundation for lifelong learning and critical thinking among young learners.

Abstract

This community service initiative addresses the critical need for halal certification and quality assurance in Risoles SMEs to enhance consumer trust and market competitiveness. The study employed a mixed-method approach, combining observational analysis of production processes, ingredient validation, and stakeholder interviews. Key findings reveal that rigorous halal validation of raw materials (e.g., mayonnaise, cheese, and frying oil) and hygiene-compliant production practices significantly improved consumer confidence. Post-intervention sales increased by 35%, attributed to transparent halal labeling and quality guarantees. The proposed solution includes standardized halal documentation frameworks and continuous quality control training for SMEs.
