Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of implementing the Zero Waste concept in improving environmental awareness knowledge among children aged 5–6 years at TK Negeri Pembina 1 Kota Jambi. The background of this study is based on the low level of children’s environmental awareness, such as littering, excessive water use, and limited participation in maintaining school cleanliness. The application of the Zero Waste principles, namely reduce, reuse, and recycle, is expected to foster environmentally friendly habits from an early age. This research employed a quantitative approach using a one group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 20 children, including 11 boys and 9 girls. Data were collected through observation sheets covering four indicators and eight assessment items related to environmental awareness knowledge. The study was conducted over six meetings, including the pretest, treatment, and posttest stages. The results showed a significant increase in the average score from 16 in the pretest to 28 in the posttest. Statistical analysis indicated a significant effect of the Zero Waste implementation on children’s environmental knowledge (p < 0.05) with a very strong effect size (Cohen’s d = 8.39). Therefore, the Zero Waste approach is effective in enhancing environmental awareness knowledge and can be applied as a contextual, environment-based learning strategy in early childhood education institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of the learning environment, perseverance in learning, and learning motivation on the Tahfiz achievement of students at SMKN 1 Sungai Aur. The research method used is quantitative with a causal associative design. The population studied includes all students from grades X, XI, and XII at SMKN 1 Sungai Aur, using proportional random sampling techniques. Data were collected through the use of closed questionnaires for the variables of learning environment, perseverance in learning, and learning motivation, as well as documentation of Tahfiz scores as indicators of learning achievement. Data analysis includes validity testing, reliability testing, classical assumption testing, and multiple linear regression analysis. The findings indicate that the learning environment, perseverance in learning, and learning motivation together have a significant influence on Tahfiz learning achievement. Individually, all three independent variables also have a significant impact, with learning motivation being the most influential variable. This study emphasizes the importance of creating a supportive learning environment, cultivating perseverance in learning, and strengthening spiritual motivation to improve the quality of Tahfiz learning.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of the availability of quality evaluation instruments to accurately measure student learning outcomes, especially in the Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subject matter. The quality of a test instrument greatly determines the validity of the learning outcome data obtained, but in practice, it is still often found that test items have not gone through the qualitative and quantitative parameter analysis stages. This study aims to analyze and describe the quality of the IPS test items on the food chain material in grade V of elementary school in terms of validity, reliability, level of difficulty, and discrimination. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with 19 fifth grade students of Growong Kidul 02 Elementary School as test subjects. Data were collected through an objective test instrument in the form of 25 multiple choice questions which were then processed using the Microsoft Excel program. The research findings show that of the total 25 test items tested, 18 items were declared valid and had an adequate level of reliability to be used as a measuring tool. The results of the difficulty level analysis show a varied distribution of questions, including easy, medium, and difficult categories. Meanwhile, in terms of discriminatory power, a diversity of question quality was found, ranging from poor, adequate, good, to excellent. The implication of this study is the availability of a standardized assessment instrument for the food chain topic that can serve as a reference for teachers at Elementary School in conducting learning evaluations. However, the results of this study also provide recommendations for improvements or revisions to items with low discriminatory power to optimize the overall quality of the instrument for future use.

Abstract

Student learning motivation remains an issue in the learning process, influenced by various internal and external factors. External factors, such as less varied teaching methods and the suboptimal role of teachers, often affect students' low motivation. This study aims to understand the role of teachers and teaching methods in enhancing student learning motivation. The method used in this research is descriptive with a qualitative approach, examining the learning process and the factors influencing student learning motivation. The results show that using varied teaching methods and the effective role of teachers as motivators can increase students' learning motivation. Engaging lessons, providing positive feedback, and setting clear learning goals have been proven to motivate students to be more active and enthusiastic in participating in the learning process. The implications of this study emphasize the importance for teachers to develop varied teaching methods and create a supportive learning environment to enhance student motivation, ultimately leading to more optimal student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study identifies the implementation of developmental and academic assessments for children with special needs categorized as slow learners and fast learners within inclusive education. Using a qualitative descriptive approach conducted on December 9, 2025, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation at the homes of two children. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model and triangulation techniques. The results of the academic assessment reveal significant differences: slow learners show limitations in basic reading, writing, and numeracy skills, requiring a gradual and structured approach, while fast learners demonstrate superior abilities in complex comprehension and initiative. Developmental assessments indicate that slow learners experience delays in cognitive, socio-emotional, language, and fine motor aspects, whereas fast learners perform optimally across all developmental domains. Assessment serves as the foundation for individualized strategies: concrete and repetitive instruction for slow learners, and enrichment and project-based activities for fast learners, supporting equitable inclusion and the maximization of each child’s potential.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in class XI-B at SMA Negeri 4 Palu, which are still below the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) set at 75. The aim of this study is to improve the learning outcomes of students through the application of direct learning models with a Flipped Classroom approach. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles during the 2023/2024 academic year with the subjects consisting of 36 students from class XI-B at SMA Negeri 4 Palu. The data collection methods used include observations and learning outcome tests. The research instruments consist of pretest and posttest questions on the topic of the Human Excretory System. The results of the study indicate that the application of the direct learning model with the Flipped Classroom approach can improve students' Biology learning outcomes. In the pre-cycle, there were 11 students who reached the KKM, with a classical completeness percentage of 30.56%. In Cycle I, the number of students achieving KKM increased to 24, with a classical completeness percentage of 66.67%. In Cycle II, the number of students reaching KKM increased further to 31, with a classical completeness percentage of 86.11%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the application of the direct learning model with the Flipped Classroom approach is effective in improving the Biology learning outcomes of students in class XI-B at SMA Negeri 4 Palu on the topic of the Human Excretory System

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of 21st-century skills based on the independent curriculum for science learning using the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model for fifth-grade students of SDN 1 Damar, specifically on the food chain topic. The study used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model was able to increase student activeness in the learning process through direct involvement in every stage of the project, from planning, implementation, to presentation of results. Students gained a better understanding of the food chain concept contextually, developed creativity, critical thinking skills, collaboration, and a sense of responsibility for group assignments. In addition, the teacher's role as a facilitator contributed significantly to creating a conducive and meaningful learning environment. Thus, the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model in science learning is in line with the principles of the Independent Curriculum which emphasizes student-centered learning and strengthening 21st-century skills.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of IPAS learning on landscape materials based on the Merdeka Curriculum for fourth-grade students at SDN 1 Damar. The learning process was conducted using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model, which emphasizes solving contextual problems related to students’ daily lives. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method, with the subjects consisting of fourth-grade students and classroom teachers. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the implementation of IPAS learning on landscape materials using the PBL model enhances students’ active participation, critical thinking skills, collaborative abilities, and environmental awareness. Students were actively involved in identifying landscape-related problems, engaging in discussions, and presenting simple solutions. Nevertheless, several challenges were identified, including students’ readiness and limited support from the family environment. Overall, IPAS learning based on the Merdeka Curriculum using the PBL model can be effectively implemented and contributes to strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mechanisms through which art education contributes to the development of college students’ marketing skills. In the era of globalization, marketing requires human resources who are adaptive, creative, communicative, and socially as well as culturally sensitive. Art education is not only oriented toward aesthetic aspects but also emphasizes imagination, expression, and symbolic meaning-making processes that are highly relevant to modern marketing practices. Using a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical design, this research explores the relationship between art learning processes and students’ creativity, communication abilities, and social sensitivity. Data were collected through literature review, classroom observations, and analysis of academic documents. The findings reveal that art education encourages students to think divergently, take creative risks, and generate innovative ideas that support marketing strategies. Furthermore, art education strengthens both verbal and nonverbal communication skills, enhances presentation abilities, and expands digital communication literacy. It also fosters empathy, tolerance, and cultural awareness, which are essential for designing inclusive and sustainable marketing strategies. Therefore, integrating art education into marketing curricula not only improves graduates’ competitiveness but also shapes professionals who are creative, communicative, and socially responsible. This study provides theoretical contributions to interdisciplinary education research and practical references for higher education institutions in designing innovative learning strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of assessment processes for basic to advanced numeracy skills among students with special educational needs, specifically those with dyscalculia, at SDS Kuncup Mekar, as well as to examine the forms of inclusive learning support provided by the school. The research employed observational techniques and simple interviews involving two students with different levels of dyscalculia: one lower-grade student with mild learning difficulties and one upper-grade student experiencing more severe challenges. The findings indicate that SDS Kuncup Mekar has implemented equitable educational services for all learners, including students with special needs. At the lower-grade level, students demonstrated significant limitations in recognizing learning materials, following instructions, and performing basic arithmetic operations, which required intensive assistance from teachers and peers. Meanwhile, the upper-grade student showed similar learning barriers but was able to respond more quickly when guided. In addition, teachers adapted the level of task difficulty, provided direct instructional support, and collaborated with parents through therapeutic interventions and supplementary learning activities. Overall, this study highlights that appropriate assessment practices and inclusive learning support play a crucial role in facilitating the optimal development of numeracy skills in students with dyscalculia.
