Abstract

This research aims to influence breathing activities and balance training on children's fine motor skills at Mentari Elementary School, Langkat. The type of research used is quantitative research. Quantitative research is a research method based on the philosophy of positivism, used to research certain populations or samples, collecting data using research instruments. The design used in this model is that there are two types of treatment in two experimental groups. The population in this study was 57 children at SD Mentari Langkat. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The sample size was 16 children at Mentar Langkat Elementary School who were divided into 3 groups randomly. The data to be analyzed needs to be tested for requirements, namely normality and homogeneity tests. The normality test is used to determine whether the data being analyzed is normal or not, the normality test uses the Shapiro-Wilk statistical test. The homogeneity test is used to determine whether the data is homogeneous or not. If the calculated sig value is greater than 0.05 then the data is normally distributed and homogeneous. However, if the calculation result is smaller than 0.05 then the data is not normally distributed and is not homogeneous. In this study, the calculation of the normality test and data homogeneity test was assisted with SPSS 16 software. Based on the research results, the average score for fine motor skills in the group that carried out breathing activities before the test (pre-test) was 6.5. After participating in breathing activities and taking the exam (post-test), the average fine motor ability score increased to 11.5. The results of statistical analysis show that the p value (P) is 0.000 (P < 0.05), which indicates a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test results of fine motor skills in the group that carried out breathing activities. Therefore, it can be concluded that breathing activities have a significant influence on improving fine motor skills.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the effect of vehicle volume on the level of road damage on rigid paving. Medan, which is the capital of North Sumatra province, has sufficient road access with asphalt, concrete and lots of it. With some road pavements, namely asphalt concrete pavement. These roads are classified into several road classes, namely, class I roads which are inter-city roads, inter-provincial roads, arterial roads, class II roads which are collector roads and class III roads which are local roads in Medan. This data was obtained from the Medan City Bina Marga Service. The data required includes the length and width of the road, number of sections, median, number of road lanes and their completeness. The results of the vehicle volume study and road damage values were analyzed using nonlinear multiple regression. The variables used are vehicle types which are grouped into light variables as variable X1, heavy vehicles as variable X2, and road damage value as variable Y. The analysis was carried out using the SPSS application. From the results above, it can be seen in the third row after variables X3 and X4 are removed. The calculated F is 2029.857. By comparing the calculated F with the F table α 0.05 with a degree of freedom in the numerator of 2 and a degree of freedom in the denominator of 3, we get an F table of 5,570. F count is greater than F table, meaning it shows that it is significant. By looking at the probability (Sig) which is smaller than the significance level (0.002 < 0.05), it can be concluded that the equation model Y = a X1 + b X2 + C is acceptable. From the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that light vehicles and heavy vehicles have an influence on road damage on rigid pavement by 99.6%, while 0.6% is influenced by other variables outside this research and which were not examined by researchers. The road damage value is the total amount of each damage value on a road section. The road damage value (Nr) is the total amount of each damage value on each road section. The calculation method starts from data on the dimensions of road damage which is calculated into area units which are then compared. With the area of the road being reviewed. Then the comparison results will appear in percentage form.

Abstract

Before permanent development can be carried out, the peat soil needs to be burdened. This method is called preloading. The purpose of preloading is to reduce initial consolidation settlement, namely by preloading the soil before construction is carried out. The advantage of preloading, apart from reducing settlement, is also increasing the bearing capacity of the soil. The bearing capacity parameters can be determined from the shear strength value, therefore it is necessary to study the initial load of peat soil to find out how optimal the initial load (preloading) is and how long the initial loading time is to increase the shear strength value of peat soil. The preloading model used is through a gradual loading system with pressures of 3.02 kPa, 6.05 kPa, 9.07 kPa, and 12.09 kPa. Each load is given gradually over one day and one week. This research was carried out through modeling tests in the laboratory using a test tank measuring 150 cm x 180 cm x 70 cm. The load used is steel nako measuring 4 cm × 1.9 cm × 1.9 cm. and the main medium is peat soil. The shear strength test is carried out after the initial loading to obtain shear parameters which include the cohesion value (c) and the friction angle value in the soil (ϕ). Preloading can increase the shear strength of peat soil. This is obtained from increasing cohesion and friction angles in the soil. An increase in soil cohesion occurs during preloading for a short time, while an increase in the friction angle in the soil occurs over a longer time. This is influenced by the release of water in the soil pores in line with the compression of the peat soil. Longer preloading results in coarser soil grains, so that the friction angle value becomes higher and conversely soil cohesion becomes smaller.

Abstract

In this research, several tests and preparations were carried out to obtain data to support completing this final assignment. The research was conducted at the UPMI Medan Pavement Materials Laboratory, Civil Engineering Department. Clay soil samples were taken in the Percut Village area, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province. In this soil sampling area, potholes and bumpy roads are often found. Soil was taken by digging to a depth of 1 meter. The sample is yellow-brown in color, physically the soil has a high water content. The weather at the time of sampling was hot. Work is carried out around 12.00 - 17.00 WIB. The main equipment settings are the settings carried out on the test tank and what is included in it, such as installing tarpaulin, pipe channels, and filling the test tank with clay mixed with coconut shell ash with variations of 0%, 6% and 9%. Installation of the tarpaulin is carried out carefully so that it does not leak, causing water in the clay soil mixed with coconut shell ash to seep through the existing holes. Likewise, filling the test tank with clay mixed with coconut shell ash. Based on the soil classification, the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Official Classification (AASHTO) system can be used to classify soil types. Meanwhile, based on the system data obtained from testing the physical properties of the soil in the form of soil that passes sieve No. 200 = 95.72% Based on the percentage value passing filter No. 200, the soil sample above has a percentage greater than 35% that passes the No. sieve. 200, then based on the AASHTO classification table it is grouped into A-7-5 which is a type of soil containing silt - clay. The elasticity of fine-grained soil is classified as silt if it has a plasticity index, PI <10 and is categorized as clay if it has a plasticity index, PI >11. The research results showed that the decrease due to the load on clay soil which did not use variations in the palm shell ash layer was 90 mm. The research results showed that the decrease due to the load on clay soil using a 6% palm shell ash layer variation was 160 mm. The research results showed that the reduction due to the load on clay soil using a 9% palm shell ash layer variation was 90 mm

Abstract

In this research, the test material used was St 37 steel plate with a size of 200 mm × 40 mm × 4 mm with a total of 8 (eight) specimens and a size of 100 mm × 40 mm × 4 mm with a total of 2 (two) specimens. This hardness test aims to determine the hardness of the test object in each area, namely the weld area, HAZ and parent metal. This hardness test was tested using a Rockwell A hardness tester (KT 7001 L50 Tc CH, Universal Testing Machine INC Taiwan), using a 120O diamond cone penetrator, pressing load 60 kg, pressing time 5 seconds. From the test results data on the parent metal, the hardness of the test object before the welding process has a lower hardness value compared to the test object after the welding process. In the weld area using electric welding, the average hardness figure was found to be greater than the HAZ area and base metal, while using acetylene welding it was also greater in the weld area than the HAZ area and parent metal, because the weld area experienced high temperature changes due to heat. which arises from the welding itself and experiences relatively fast cooling, while the HAZ area does not experience high hardness, because this area only experiences heat propagation from the weld area. The parent metal has low hardness because this area experiences slight changes in structure and properties along with relatively reduced heat propagation from the weld area. From the two welding systems, namely using acetylene welding and electric welding, it can be seen that the highest average hardness value is for the acetylene base. Tensile strength is one of the properties of materials that can be used to determine the characteristics of materials when subjected to loading. The strength of a material can be seen from its tensile strength value, the higher the tensile strength, the stronger the material. In electric welding, the hardness in the weld area is 45.3 HRA, the HAZ area is 44.8 HRA and the parent metal area is 42.9 HRA. In electric welding and acetylene welding, the average hardness value in the weld area is greater in acetylene welding, in the HAZ area the average hardness value is almost the same, in the parent metal the average hardness value is greater in electric welding.

Abstract

In the world of work, the word professional is heard quite often. Someone who works professionally is someone who can work and complete their affairs effectively and efficiently. Generally, a professional person tends to have a positive image in the eyes of his superiors and those around him. Professionalism, a term often heard in the world of work, indicates high standards in how someone carries out their duties and responsibilities. A professional is an individual who dedicates himself to pursuing his expertise in a particular field, carries out tasks with unmatched precision and quality, and shows high commitment to his work. It is important to remember that professionalism is not just about technical proficiency in a field of work, but also includes personal qualities that influence interactions and relationships with others in the workplace. In the world of work, a professional attitude is a mandatory requirement for every employee. Labor law in Indonesia is regulated in Law no. 13 of 2003 concerning Employment. Labor law regulates all matters relating to labor before, during and after workAccording to the Big Indonesian Dictionary (KBBI), the meaning of the word professionalism is quality, quality and behavior which are characteristics of a profession or a professional person. Professionalism itself is taken from the basic word "professional" where a person or employee must of course understand the meaning of the word professional in carrying out work within the scope of work. This is not just a slogan. Every employee must be able to adapt to maintain professionalism in various conditions. Professional employees are able to understand relationships, understand duties and responsibilities, and are focused and consistent in their duties. We can define professionalism at work as working in a disciplined, competent and timely manner with the best results. Professionalism is an attitude that is very necessary for the success of an institution.
