Abstract

This study was conducted with the aim of analyzing the role of the Problem Solving Laboratory (PSL) and Higher Other Laboratory (HOTLab) activity models in improving 21st century skills. The method used is literature review or library research, which is a series of studies related to literature collection methods or research whose research object is a variety of library information, namely a review of studies that have been conducted previously regarding the role of the Problem Solving Laboratory and Higher Other Thinking Laboratory practicum models in improving 21st century skills. 21st century skills refer to a set of abilities that are considered important for one's success in the current era of information and globalization. The analysis of the role of Problem Solving Laboratory (PSL) and Higher Other Thinking Laboratory (HOTLab) activity models in 21st century learning provides important insights into how these two models contribute to developing the skills necessary for success in the modern era, namely: development of critical skills, facilitation of collaborative learning, enhancement of problem solving skills, relevance to current and future challenges and facilitation of independent learning. The Problem Solving Laboratory (PSL) is specifically designed to assist students in developing problem solving skills and the Higher Order Thinking Laboratory (HOTLab) is designed to enhance critical thinking skills. PSL and HOTLab are not only conventional learning facilities, but also platforms that enable students to develop 21st century skills essential for success in today's information age and globalization.

Abstract

Things that lecturers must prepare for evaluating learning in lectures are RPS, teaching materials and assessment instruments. Lectures really need teaching materials that can support the lecture process. In accordance with current technological developments, electronic modules are needed that are in accordance with the independent curriculum. In addition, to instill religious values in students, the modules developed need to be integrated with Islamic science values. The aim of this research is to analyze the need for learning evaluation course emodules according to the independent curriculum integrating Islamic values of science. This research was conducted by conducting a literature study, interviews with lecturers in charge of the Learning Evaluation course, and distributing questionnaires regarding the need for teaching materials for the Learning Evaluation course. As a result, lecturers have made RPS and used media in learning, but have not included the independent curriculum as the newest curriculum. Apart from that, media that is more interesting for students is in the form of e-modules which contain material equipped with videos and attractive displays. In accordance with the West Sumatra government's policy regarding guidelines for religious values, because the majority of the population is Muslim, it is certainly necessary to include Islamic values in the electronic module. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a Learning Evaluation course emodule according to the independent curriculum that integrates Islamic values.

Abstract

The main problem in this research is the lack of adequate learning media, the textbooks which often display 3D images simplified into 2D, which can cause misunderstanding of students towards the concept of three-dimensional shapes. It also found that students showed high interest in learning using videos due to the limited environment by the latest technology. The purpose of this research is to produce a valid and practical Problem Based Learning (PBL) video.  This type of research is development research with the 4-D development model, which consists of four stages. Define is the stage to determine why the product developed, along with its specifications. Design is designing the product based on the predetermined specifications. Develop is to produce the product, testing its validity and practicality to ensure that the outcomes meet the expected specifications. Disseminate is the stage of distributing the validated product to a wider audience for practical use but not used in this research. Data were carried out through questionnaires. The instruments used in this study include validation sheets, teacher response questionnaires, and student response questionnaires. Based on the research results conducted on ninth-grade students of SMP IT An-Nahl, it can be concluded that the PBL-based learning video for flat-sided space shapes material has a high validity level with a percentage of 85.03%. For practicality testing, the teacher response questionnaire showed an average percentage of 87.3%, which is categorized as very practical, while the student response questionnaire obtained an average percentage of 93%, also categorized as very practical.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a valid and practical green chemistry-based practicum module integrated with Qur'anic verses for teaching reaction rate concepts at SMA IT Darul Hikmah Pasaman Barat This study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the 4-D development model, which consists of the Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate stages. However, this study was conducted only up to the Develop stage. The practicum module was tested on 17 female students from Class XI Akhwat. The research instruments used were validation sheets and practicality questionnaires. The results showed that the developed module received a highly valid category validation with A validity score of 91%. In addition, this module was declared very practical with a percentage of 90% based on educator responses and 86% based on student responses. The conclusion of this research is a practicum module based on green chemistry and integrated with Islamic values that is valid and practical so that it can be used as one of the teaching materials for chemistry learning.

Abstract

This research was instigated with the lack of student ability in processing the knowledge gained and the limited learning media in the learning process.  This research aimed at finding out the validity and practicality levels of animation learning video on Colloid lesson.  The development procedures were based on Borg and Gall model which was carried out in only 5 stages consisting of collecting data, planning, developing a product, field testing, and revising the initial product.  The research was conducted at State Senior High School 10 Pekanbaru.  Interview and questionnaire were used to collect data.  The instruments of collecting data were validity and practicality test questionnaires.  Animation video learning medium tested was valid with the percentages 88.57% (very valid) by media experts and 88.33% (very valid) by material experts, and it was tested practically with the percentages 95.38% (very practical) by 2 Chemistry subject teachers and 88.06% by 15 students (very practical).  Based on these results, it was concluded that animation video medium on Colloid lesson was valid and practical so that product test could be carried out at the next stage.
