Abstract

Economic development is often seen as the main indicator of a country's success in improving the welfare of its people. However, macroeconomic achievements do not always reflect the equitable fulfillment of citizens' social rights. This study aims to analyze Indonesia's economic development in relation to the quality of substantive citizenship of its citizens, with an emphasis on the fulfillment of social rights, regional inequality, and the role of the state. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical design. The data used is secondary data sourced from the Official Statistics of the Central Statistics Agency of the Republic of Indonesia in 2025, supported by scientific literature and relevant national and international reports. Data collection techniques were carried out through documentation studies, while data analysis was conducted descriptively and critically using a substantive citizenship framework. The results of the study show that although Indonesia's economic development shows a positive trend, the fulfillment of citizens' social rights still faces various structural challenges. Development disparities between regions, the dominance of the informal sector in the employment structure, and unequal access to education and health care reflect substantive citizenship disparities. These findings confirm that citizenship is not only determined by formal legal status, but also by the material conditions that enable citizens to live with dignity. This study concludes that the success of economic development needs to be measured by its ability to strengthen the fulfillment of social rights and reduce citizenship inequality. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of the state's role in integrating economic development with social policies oriented towards equity, as well as strengthening Pancasila and Citizenship Education that is more contextual and critical of socio-economic realities.

Abstract

Education in National Defense plays an essential role in shaping the character of the Indonesian nation, especially among the younger generation. This article examines the importance of national defense education within the context of a diverse society, as well as the involvement of all elements of the community in supporting such education. Through a literature review approach, the article discusses the legal foundations, concepts, objectives, and methods of national defense education, with a particular focus on early childhood. The family, as the child’s first environment, holds a crucial role in instilling national defense values from an early age. By emphasizing this aspect, it is expected that the young generation can grow into resilient individuals who are responsible for their nation and country.

Abstract

In the digital era, social media has transformed the way information is produced, distributed, dan consumed, thereby posing new challenges to Pancasila as the ideological foundation dan unifying force of the Indonesian nation. The high level of internet dan social media penetration, with 73.8% of the population connected to the internet dan 68.9% actively using social media, increases the risk of digital polarization through echo chambers, disinformation, dan algorithmic curation. This study aims to analyze the challenges faced by Pancasila in the context of digital polarization dan to examine its implications for national unity. The research adopts a qualitative approach using a literature review design by critically examining scholarly journal articles, academic books, policy reports, dan relevant research documents. The findings indicate a gap in the internalization of Pancasila values, particularly among younger generations who are strongly influenced by social media algorithms. Digital polarization contributes to identity fragmentation, rising intolerance, dan declining quality of public dialogue, which negatively affects social cohesion dan deliberative practices. Moreover, algorithmic curation that prioritizes emotional content over critical narratives further narrows the space for cross group deliberation. The study concludes that challenges to Pancasila do not stem from weaknesses in its ideological values, but rather from changes in the digital information ecosystem that shape new patterns of social interaction. Therefore, strengthening digital literacy integrated with value education, community based interventions, dan transparent governance of social media platforms are essential strategies to reduce digital polarization dan reinforce national unity.

Abstract

The utilization of video content among Gen Z as a form of learning about the electoral process on social media can be strategically employed for civic education, provided it is supported by high quality educational content, digital literacy, and collaboration between the KPU, Bawaslu, educational institutions, influencers, and social media platforms. Thus, Gen Z can learn more about elections through social media, not only as a space for political campaigning but also as a digital space for political education. Research indicates that Gen Z tends to access political information through visual, interactive, and fast paced content, with primary platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and X. Gen Z is more interested in short videos, reviews, light hearted content, and creative material produced by political influencers or election related institutions; therefore, electoral content presented in similar formats holds great potential to capture attention and broaden the scope of political learning. However, without proper digital literacy guidance, Gen Z often reads only the appealing text or watches entertaining clips without verifying the information, making them vulnerable to propaganda and disinformation.

Abstract

This literature study aims to analyze the Free Lunch Program (MBG) in Indonesia, one of the campaign promises of the President-elect. MBG is one of the flagship programs of Mr. Prabowo Subianto. Nearing one year into his administration, the program's implementation, public response, and challenges are being investigated. This research is based on a review of 150 articles obtained through Google Scholar, with 53 selected journal articles subjected to in-depth analysis. The study results indicate that the implementation of the MBG program has an impact on improving student nutrition, attendance, and academic achievement. The program contributes to food security and human resource development. Public responses are quite diverse, ranging from positive sentiment supporting the program's objectives to criticism of potential budget misuse and program effectiveness. Media framing also contributes to shaping public perception of the MBG program. Challenges to program implementation include budgeting, cross-sector coordination, and program sustainability after five years in office. This study recommends that further studies examine the effectiveness of the MBG program through a quantitative approach based on field data, given the limited research related to evaluating the impact of this policy.

Abstract

This study is designed to explore how the rule of law is implemented and strengthened in Indonesia. As a nation governed by the rule of law, Indonesia not only applies this principle to comply with formal regulations but also uses it as a means to achieve real justice for the people. To examine this, this study uses normative legal methods by examining existing legal concepts and history. The analysis shows that basic principles of the rule of law, such as human rights and equality before the law, play a crucial role in limiting the power of those in power and guiding legal change in Indonesia. However, in its implementation, Indonesia still faces challenges in the form of regulatory inconsistencies and a legal culture that has not fully adapted to changing times. Therefore, the legal system needs to be strengthened through several important steps, namely improving bureaucratic procedures, utilizing technology in the judicial process, and increasing the honesty of law enforcement officials. These strategic steps are key to realizing a more modern, transparent, and just legal transformation in Indonesia for all levels of society.
