Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe in detail how the application of the differentiated learning approach in the independent curriculum in the PPKn subject at SMP Negeri 4 Tabukan Utara. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method and data sources come from the results of observations, interviews, and documentation of PPKn teachers and class VIII students of SMP Negeri 4 Tabukan Utara. The data analysis technique in this study uses the Miles and Hubberman model, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of this study indicate that both teachers and students show increased understanding and active learning by using this differentiated learning where teachers and students provide deep insights into the application and acceptance of differentiated learning. These findings can be the basis for improving the learning system to be more inclusive and responsive to individual student differences.

Abstract

Implementation of problem-based learning model in increasing student learning participation in Civics subject at SMP Alkhairaat Manado. The problem in this study is the use of conventional learning, namely teachers who teach still use the lecture method and only focus on teachers, not students, which makes students not given the opportunity to ask questions. Based on these problems, the main objective of this study is to determine whether the application of problem-based learning model can increase student learning participation in Civics subject at SMP Alkhairaat Manado and how it is implemented. The approach used in this study is Classroom Action Research (CAR) using 2 cycles. Data collection was obtained from observation sheets based on problem-based learning syntax and documentation. Each cycle has 4 stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Based on the results of the study, it shows that the application of problem-based learning model at SMP Alkairaat Manado can increase student learning participation in Civics subject as seen from the increase in cycle II.

Abstract

This study will examine how teacher innovation can improve student learning outcomes in the subject of Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) at SMP Kristen Getsemani Sario Kota Baru Manado. The research approach used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of the study were the principal, PPKn teachers, and students. The results of the study indicate that instructor innovation in PPKn learning is very important for improving student learning outcomes. Teachers use a variety of innovative approaches to increase student participation, including group discussions, project-based learning (PjBL), and debates. Furthermore, research has shown that the use of digital learning media such as educational videos, infographics, and interactive simulations can help students understand abstract concepts in PPKn. These findings are consistent with Vygotsky's social learning theory and Bloom's idea of ​​three domains in education, as well as the domains that must be met in terms of cognitive, emotional, and psychomotor skills to create student competence and dramatically improve learning outcomes.

Abstract

The low public awareness of the cleanliness of the environment in Tempang 3 Village triggered this research. This study aims to find out the factors that affect public awareness of environmental cleanliness in Tempang Village 3. The results of the study show that the people of Tempang 3 Village have a sufficient understanding of environmental cleanliness. Most people realize that maintaining the cleanliness of the environment is a shared responsibility. The mutual cooperation action carried out in cleaning the environment through the Clean Friday program in collaboration with the Village Government shows that the community understands the importance of maintaining cleanliness. It is hoped that the community and the government can continue to work together to create a clean environment.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine how PPKn teachers help students at SMP Negeri 5 Tondano Utara in fostering discipline. The approach used was qualitative, with data collection procedures in the form of documentation, interviews, and observations. Based on the results of the study, teachers play an important role in helping each student at school to have and instill a disciplined attitude. In addition, teachers at SMP Negeri 5 Tondano Utara have an obligation to provide instructions, inspiration, and even be a catalyst for students' enthusiasm for learning. Lack of parental involvement in children, students' attitudes that do not obey school rules, and the influence of social groups that often violate the rules are the main factors that cause students to be less disciplined at SMP Negeri 5 Tondano Utara.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve students' learning motivation through the methods used by teachers and to evaluate the role of teachers. This study used a qualitative descriptive research method that focused on investigating problems. The results showed that teachers are important in improving students' learning motivation by building students' interest in learning. The factors that influence students' learning motivation are: Lack of interest in the subject, difficulty understanding abstract ideas, and the belief that PPKn is a subject that requires memorization are examples of internal causes. Peer pressure, family environment, and less creative teaching strategies are examples of external forces.

Abstract

This article examines the shortcomings of Indonesia’s response to human trafficking through both classical and contemporary theories of the state. The core issue is the gap between the state’s foundational principles protection, welfare, and justice and the sporadic, largely administrative implementation of anti-trafficking policies. The study aims to assess how far the state fulfills its constitutional functions as sovereign authority and human-rights guarantor, and to formulate institutional reform recommendations. Employing a qualitative-descriptive approach that combines normative analysis with philosophical reflection, the research relies entirely on secondary sources: statutes and regulations, national and international reports especially the 2024 Trafficking in Persons Report and scholarly books and journal articles on state theory. The analysis proceeds through four stages: conceptual identification, empirical context exploration, theory–fact integration, and critical synthesis. Findings reveal that the protective function remains ineffective, marked by limited victim identification, a predominance of administrative sanctions, and poor access to recovery services. The welfare function is weakened by insufficient social security and vocational education for vulnerable groups. The justice function is compromised by symbolic law enforcement, official complicity, and preferential treatment of influential offenders. Weak inter-agency coordination and the absence of unified command widen the norm–practice gap, creating a legitimacy deficit for the state. In conclusion, the state is present legally yet substantively absent in the trafficking crisis. Structural reforms are required: stronger national coordination, a rights-based approach, nondiscriminatory enforcement of the rule of law, and a reconstruction of sovereignty as an ethical responsibility to safeguard human dignity.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of smartphone use on student learning effectiveness at MTS Anwar Futuhiyyah. The method used is a quantitative method with a simple linear regression approach. The results of the hypothesis test indicate that there is no significant effect between smartphone use (variable X) on student learning effectiveness (variable Y). This is proven through regression analysis with the equation Y = 52.806 + 0.043X, where the X coefficient is 0.043 and the constant is 52.806. The correlation coefficient (R) value of 0.002 indicates a very weak relationship between the two variables. Meanwhile, the R Square value of 0.002 or 0.2% indicates that only 0.2% of the variation in learning effectiveness can be explained by the smartphone use variable, while the other 99.8% is influenced by other factors not analyzed in this study. Thus, smartphone use does not have a significant effect on student learning effectiveness.

Abstract

Civic Education in Indonesia plays a strategic role in shaping democratic, active, and responsible citizens. This study focuses on the implementation of Civic Education in the Merdeka Curriculum and conceptually compares it with findings from the Citizenship Education Longitudinal Study (CELS). Using a qualitative descriptive method with a literature review approach, the study analyzes key sources on civic education and recent curriculum documents. The findings reveal that the Merdeka Curriculum integrates democratic values and human rights through project-based learning, the reinforcement of the Pancasila Student Profile, and the development of critical and collaborative thinking skills. Meanwhile, CELS highlights that contextual and continuous civic education significantly contributes to students' engagement in democratic processes. The study concludes that the integration of civic values into the curriculum, when supported by participatory learning strategies, has strong potential to cultivate empowered, democratic, and responsible citizensy.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the role of the Basic Level Scout Training Course (KMD) in shaping the character of Indonesia's young generation. Using a qualitative approach and literature study, this research highlights that KMD is not just a technical scouting course, but is also a concrete vehicle for the holistic character formation of participants. KMD integrates human values, unity, deliberation and social justice through various activities such as ceremonies, discussions and community service. The research results show that KMD is able to produce a young generation who is not only proficient in the field of scouting, but also ready to face various challenges in the future. In this context, research proposes increasing the integration of character values in KMD material as well as increasing aspects of personal guidance to ensure holistic growth. The ultimate goal of KMD is to produce scout leaders who are open to input, active in outdoor learning and coaching, work cohesively in groups, and have a positive orientation in all activities.
