Abstract

Civic Education (PPKn) plays a crucial role in shaping individuals' characters and fostering positive behaviors. This article discusses the challenges and opportunities in optimizing the role of PPKn. The introduction emphasizes the importance of civic values in social life, while the method discusses effective teaching strategies, including active approaches, the use of technology, integration of civic values into other subjects, and collaboration among relevant parties. The discussion highlights challenges such as lack of awareness of the importance of PPKn, disparities in curriculum implementation, and complexity of the material, while opportunities such as technological advancements, collaboration, and periodic evaluations provide a foundation for enhancing the effectiveness of PPKn education. By utilizing appropriate strategies and involving all relevant stakeholders, it is hoped that a future generation with strong character, responsibility, and civic awareness can be realized.

Abstract

Democracy is very important for the life of the nation and state. Democracy teaches us that the people are the source of power and that they create good rules and protect their rights. However, currently there are many violations of democracy. Many people do not understand democratic attitudes and behavior, which causes inequality. Society is not yet mature enough to follow and respond to the democratic process due to a lack of socialization and education about democracy. The purpose of writing this journal is to provide an understanding of the Importance of Democratic Education to Form Democratic Attitudes and Behavior. This research method uses the library method or literature study. The results obtained show that democratic education has the ability to provide education and help solve the problems of the nation and state. Democratic education instills democratic principles so that it can form a society whose behavior reflects democratic life.

Abstract

The 4.0 Revolution has profoundly changed education, particularly in civic education. This research explores the implementation of digital citizenship in the Civic Education (Civics) curriculum, identifies the challenges, and assesses the relationship between Civics and digital citizenship skills. The study used qualitative methods to explore the integration of information and communication technology in Civics teaching and strategies for developing students' digital skills. The results showed constraints such as limited infrastructure and teachers' professional development needs as the main barriers. However, the integration of digital citizenship has the potential to increase students' understanding and participation in civic practices, both locally and globally. The study recommends adaptive policies and increased investment in teacher training and technological infrastructure, so that civic education can more effectively face the challenges of the digital age. This research underscores the importance of innovative approaches in education to prepare students for a changing society.

Abstract

Various current developments have caused various phenomena of civic character that are in accordance with the spirit of Pancasila to begin to fade, one of which is mutual cooperation behavior. This is certainly not in accordance with the basic guidelines of the Indonesian state, namely Pancasila, which is closely linked to the spirit of unity. The problem of low levels of mutual cooperation behavior was discovered by researchers based on observations made on class X students at SMA Batik 1 Surakarta. The decline in mutual cooperation between students is characterized by a lack of caring attitude, egoism of students who prioritize their own interests, individualistic attitudes, and low awareness of students' responsibilities in a collaborative project. Given the related problems, it is necessary to strengthen mutual cooperation behavior among the nation's generations through education. One of them is through Pancasila Education as part of Citizenship Education. This research is research with a correlational quantitative approach. This research aims to prove whether there is a relationship between mutual cooperation behavior and the attitude of national integration of class X students at SMA Batik 1 Surakarta. The variables in this research are mutual cooperation behavior and national integration attitudes. The population in this study was all students in class X SMA Batik 1 Surakarta, totaling 450. The sample in this study was 84 students in classes X-5 and Data collection techniques through questionnaires. Data analysis uses normality, linearity and hypothesis testing. The results of the research show that there is a significant relationship between mutual cooperation behavior and the attitude of national integration of class X students at SMA Batik 1 Surakarta. These results are marked with R, namely 0.603 and a Sig value. namely 0.00. The correlation of behavior and attitudes in the results of this research strengthens the Theory of Planned Behavior. In other words, students' good mutual cooperation behavior correlates with their attitude of national integration in the good category as well.

Abstract

The use of social media can affect the characteristics of individuals, especially students who are still in the developmental stage. Therefore, guidance from PPKn teachers, as character education teachers, is needed to prevent the occurrence of deviant behavior due to unethical use of social media. This study aims to determine the extent of the influence of PPKn teachers' guidance on the ethical use of social media by students. The type of research used by the researcher is descriptive research using a quantitative approach. The population of this study is the tenth grade students of SMAN 8 Garut, with a sample of 60 tenth grade students obtained through simple random sampling techniques. a) The study found that PPKn teachers employed several methods to guide the use of social media, including teaching, reminding, discussing, and encouraging students to use social media properly. b) The obstacles faced include limited time, the content itself where students are unable to filter what is on social media, and the inability of PPKn teachers to monitor students constantly and independently. c) Efforts made include maximizing time in class, reminding, assigning tasks, interacting with students on social media, and providing direct examples. d) There is an influence of PPKn teachers' guidance on the ethical use of social media by students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the cognitive level of students in class Vll-1 SMPN 3 Mataram based on the revision of Bloom's taxonomy in P5 learning. This study uses a type of descriptive qualitative research. The data used are primary data and secondary data. The data collection techniques in this study are observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study show that the P5 learning carried out by class Vll-1 chose the theme of sustainable lifestyle with a special theme of turning waste into blessings. To realize the project, there are four stages that are carried out, namely discovering is introducing and discussing issues related to waste problems in rivers and beaches, imagine is the stage of contemplating about waste, doing is the action stage of students making works from waste, and distributing is the last stage by holding work exhibitions and project evaluations. The abilities of students in class Vll-1 in the cognitive domain include the level of (a) knowledge, students give the same answers to questions given related to waste (b) understanding, students give different opinions in the diagram task (c) application, students apply steps to make waste into useful products (d) analysis, students describe clearly and concisely about waste sorting (e) evaluation, Students hold an exhibition of works and reflection projects (f) create, students produce products from recycled waste. The students' learning results showed that the level of creating students in class Vll-1 was at a fairly high level because it was able to produce outputs in P5 learning in the form of handicrafts from waste including cracker clothes, sack clothes, plates from ale-ale glasses, flower vases, plastic bags, and lamp decorations.

Abstract

The millennial generation, also known as Generation Y, includes those born between 1981 and 2000 and currently aged 18 to 37 years. In the context of elections and politics, social media significantly influences how millennials and Generation Z (born between the mid-1990s and early 2000s) obtain information and participate. This study aims to provide insights for election organizers and political parties on effectively using social media for political education among Generation Z. By understanding their media usage patterns and preferences, political information can be better packaged to ensure broader political awareness among youth. Generation Z is notably open to social and environmental issues and often uses social media to voice opinions and drive change. Despite the prevalence of misinformation and unclear campaigns on social media, which deter some youth from political participation, this research underscores the importance of engaging young people in politics. Using qualitative methods, including direct observation and interviews, the study investigates how social media shapes the political participation and awareness of Generation Z, particularly in Pekanbaru. The results indicate that social media plays a crucial role in providing political information and fostering political engagement among youth.

Abstract

Improving student learning outcomes is a primary goal in the context of education. Effective teaching methods can be key to achieving these goals. One method that can be applied is the demonstration method. The purpose of this study was to explore the application of the demonstration method and its impact on student learning outcomes. The demonstration method is a teaching strategy that involves the use of direct examples, modeling, or practical displays of concepts or skills being taught. In this study, the demonstration method was applied in a classroom environment to facilitate student understanding and improve their learning outcomes. This study used a classroom action research (CAR) approach that should involve teachers and students in the research process. However, here this study only involved teachers, because students had already taken the Final Semester Exam. Data were collected through observation and interviews with PPKN subject teachers. The results showed that the application of the demonstration method had a positive impact on student learning outcomes. The application of the demonstration method allows students to see and experience the concepts or skills being taught directly. This allows students to develop a better understanding and strengthen their skills through observation and active participation.

Abstract

Criminology plays a crucial role in multicultural societies characterized by ethnic, cultural, and value-based diversity. In this context, criminology not only addresses the factors influencing criminal behavior but also explores how culture shapes perceptions of crime and law enforcement. This article investigates how criminology can provide deep insights into cultural dynamics within law enforcement practices, as well as the challenges and prospects for the future. The study emphasizes the importance of inclusive and culturally responsive law enforcement strategies and proposes the integration of criminology and cultural anthropology to develop policies that take local values into account. Such integration is expected to strengthen social and legal justice in increasingly complex societies. The data collection method used in this study is a literature review, which involves gathering and analyzing relevant works by previous researchers whose studies relate closely to the issues discussed.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) determine how much the tendency of Pancasila Education learning achievement in class III taught using Pop Up Book Digital media and Interactive PowerPoint media, (2) determine the difference in Pancasila Education learning achievement between learning using Pop Up Book Digital media and Interactive PowerPoint media. This research uses a quantitative approach with the Quasi Experimental Design method. The population taken was third grade students of SD Negeri 1 Padokan, totaling 56 students. The sampling technique used a census / total sampling where class III A as an experimental class and class III B as a control class. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, tests, and documents. The data analysis technique used descriptive analysis and prerequisite test analysis which included normality test, homogeneity test, hypothesis testing using t-test, and N-Gain test. The results showed (1) the increase in learning achievement of Pancasila Education was higher which was taught using Pop Up Book Digital media. This is evidenced by the average posttest score, for the experimental class of 82.68 and the control class of 77.14; (2) there are differences in learning achievement of Pancasila Education in class III. This is evidenced by the significance value (2-tailed) of 0.048 <0.050. The conclusion of this study is that there is an increase in learning achievement of Pancasila Education before and after being given a treatment.
