Abstract

It is crucial to remember that teaching young learners is quite different from teaching adult learners, and frequently require teachers to keep young learners engaged in the classroom at primary schools. A competent teacher should be able to encourage and engage his/her pupils. In order to develop speaking skills at primary schools interesting exercises and interactive assignments must be utilized by teachers as there are various issues that schoolchildren may encounter when teaching speaking in English classes. This article highlights effective methods of teaching speaking in primary schools.

Abstract

Neologisms enhance and enrich any language, but also provide challenges for us until the notions become known and understandable. A neologism dictionary can help us grasp and translate new terms accurately. If the text contains a neologism that is not defined in a dictionary, we must decide its meaning independently, taking into consideration the derived aspects of the provided word and depending on the context. This article describes and illustrates the meaning of neologisms in our language today, their structure and composition, and their lexical-semantic classifications in media discourse.

Abstract

Reading competence is crucial for academic achievement. Reading competence is linked to success at school and over the life. It is also regarded as one of the most challenging areas, thus any educational institution has to give it greater focus to develop pupils’ reading competence. Abstract

This article considers about methodology of lexical competence formation of power - engineering students and its experimental research in ESP teaching. Here some theoretical approaches are discussed, and new methodology suggested by the author is tested in practice. Experimental work was carried out in 3 non-philological universities of the Republic of Uzbekistan as Tashkent State Technical University named after Islam Karimov (TSTU), Fergana Polytechnic Institute (FerPI) and Navoi State Mining Institute (NSMI). Anonymous questionnaires were obtained from students and teachers, written control works are received from students. Using the results obtained, the existing difficulties in teaching and mastering the terms of power engineering were identified. With the help of these difficulties there have been developed a typology of exercises aimed at overcoming the identified challenges. The exercises given here were prepared and published in the textbook "Foreign language for 3rd year power engineering students" for the development of lexical competence, used at English language course for students of the 3rd year of the Faculty of "Power engineering" of non-philological higher educational institutions of the republic. The texts in the manual is based on the content of teaching special subjects and textbooks in the field of power engineering of TSTU, 3rd year "Foreign language" educational and methodological complex, O.G.Smirnova, E.A. Protsukovich's e-book English for Power Engineering, David Bonamy's Technical English 1, and Internet sources. Besides this there are given some recommendations and suggestions on teaching technical terms to ESP students in higher educational establishments.

Abstract

This article explores the problems of reflecting the national spirit and specific modes of expression in the process of translation using the example of the English translation of the famous work of the Uzbek writer Gafur Ghulam “The Naughty Boy”. During the study, a comparative analysis of the text of the original work and its translation is carried out, assessing such aspects as the main criteria that determine the quality of translation - the preservation of the plot and composition, the issuance of national realities and phraseological units, the author’s style and the degree of reflection of the individuality of character speech. According to the results of the analysis, although the general content and artistic features of the work have been successfully restored in the translation of “The Naughty Boy”, problems are visible in the translation of certain national features, including realities, folk proverbs and phrases characteristic of the Uzbek lifestyle and mentality.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of an e-learning-based English language training program on micro-entrepreneurs in Tomok Village, Indonesia. With tourism rapidly expanding in the Asia Pacific region, English proficiency is essential for businesses to interact effectively with foreign tourists. The study employs the ADDIE instructional design model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) to assess the effectiveness of the training program. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and pre- and post-tests involving 30 micro-entrepreneurs. The results indicate significant improvements in participants' English proficiency, as evidenced by increased post-test scores compared to pre-test results. Furthermore, participants expressed a strong preference for the flexibility of e-learning, which allows them to learn while managing their businesses. This research highlights the potential of e-learning to enhance micro-entrepreneurs' communication skills in tourism settings, thereby increasing their economic prospects.

Abstract

This study investigates the efficacy of using songs in conjunction with the Total Physical Response (TPR) method to enhance vocabulary mastering and creative thinking in EFL students. 36 first-grade students participated in two cycles of Classroom Action Research (CAR) at SMAN 03 Pamekasan. Students' low average score of 58 on the pre-test and initial observations indicated serious difficulties with vocabulary retention, spelling, pronunciation and accurate usage. TPR, which combines movement with language learning, was combined with songwriting exercises. In order to improve memory through dance and music, students worked in groups to compose and perform songs utilizing vocabulary words in the first cycle. Despite a 12.1% improvement in post-test scores, the results fell short of the minimal passing requirements set by English Teacher of SMAN 03 Pamekasan. Within the moment cycle, extra hone and anxiety-reducing measures, such as singing and acting out melodies some time recently testing, driven to a eminent advancement, with the normal score rising to 80. The think about found that the TPR strategy, when combined with tunes, altogether improved students' lexicon run, spelling, articulation, and exactness of utilization. Abstract

Speaking is the art of communicating in social situations so that people compete to learn languages ​​because this is an interesting goal for them to achieve. Communicating using English is very popular in the current era of globalization. English has many benefits for increasing your chances of making friends with other people from various countries and for getting a job abroad. Many schools from elementary school to university level have English learning materials. In this case, the research took place at SD IT Ulil Albab Kamal and focused on vocabulary, because the students' vocabulary was lacking so that they were not fluent in speaking English and did not have the courage to speak. The researcher also concluded questions that focus on the problem that occurred, namely: 1. How does the Second Grade Students of SD IT Ulil Albab Kamal improve vocabulary through anagram game? 2. How do the students respond toward the use of anagram game in the class? With this problem, researchers introduced the Anagram game and the methodology by using Descriptive Qualitative Method. Anagram game is a brain-teasing puzzle game, where players have to change one word into another word by rearranging the letters. This game is very good for improving vocabulary skills and prolonging memory for new words in English. Researchers used two instruments, namely observation and interviews. From the instruments used in collecting data in the field, producing conclusions by using the Anagram game, the Second Grade Students at SD IT Ulil Albab Kamal can understand the meaning of words when communicating by using English

Abstract

Learning media in the digital era must be aligned with technological developments. The learning media chosen must be interesting and attached to students. The video is currently popular with many people, including the students of Junior High School, MTsN 1 Kolpajung Pamekasan. Departing from these reasons, the researchers took the initiative to implement the video as a media for interesting and fun learning in delivering material in English for Junior High School. This study aims to find out how effective the video as media is in improving the speaking skills of students majoring at the MTsN 1 Kolpajung Pamekasan. Qualitative method is used for analyzing the data on performance test, observation and discussion on the implementation that were produced by the students as well as processing on student views regarding the use of video media in learning in English subject especially speaking skill. The result indicated that the use of video media is considered quite effective in developing students' speaking skills. From the results of observations, it shows that there has been an increase in student activity, from an average of 74.7% in cycle one and 82.2% in cycle two, to 86.3 in cycle III, as well as teacher activity in the learning process increasing from 85.7 % in cycle I, 90.3% in cycle II increased to 92.03% in cycle III which stated that video media was an innovation in learning English, which made students more relaxed and enjoyed the teaching and learning process and eliminated the mindset that learning English is difficult.
