Abstract

Lubricants are chemical substances that are generally in liquid form, which are used in frictional components. Its function is to reduce friction, reduce wear, reduce vibration, maintain the age of the tool or component and maintain temperature during operation. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of a mixture of lubricants on TAN (Total Acid Number) and viscosity, and to determine the effect of time on TAN (Total Acid Number) and viscosity. It was carried out with 5 different concentrations of the mixture, namely 100:0, 80:20, 90:10, 95:5, 0:100 then the concentration of this mixture was tested on the headstock gearbox of a conventional lathe DoALL LT 13 for 21 hours at each concentration, then the test is carried out on the lubricant sample repeated 3 times every 1 hour. The viscosity test on lubricating oil samples was carried out at 40°C and the TAN (Total Acid Number) test was carried out at room temperature. This research was conducted using the ANOVA method and it was concluded that the analysis showed that mixing and time had a significant effect on TAN (Total Acid Number) and viscosity.

Abstract

Friction welding is a welding technique that uses heat generated by friction, and this concept works on the surfaces of two materials that are in contact, namely rotating while the other is stationary and applying a compressive force at the same speed to provide heat to melt one metal into another. This study aimed to determine the effect of friction time and pressure distance variations on impact strength in the friction welding process of AISI 4140 steel. A solid cylinder having Ø 20 mm. So, this research will be carried out using the experimental method; it is found that friction welding using 90 seconds and a pressure distance of 4 mm produces an average absorbed impact energy of 31.31 joules and an average impact price of 0.05692 joules/mm2 and for the lowest value, namely at 60 seconds and the pressure distance is 2 mm with the average value of the impact absorbed is 6.44 joules. The average impact price is 0.01168 Joule/mm2. Because the longer the friction time and the pressure distance, the results of the friction welding better.

Abstract

Welding is a very important process in the industrial world and is not left behind in today's developments. Friction welding techniques that rely on heat by friction of two materials, besides this friction welding without the use of filler metal or electrodes and the processing time is not long, this friction welding is very good for solid objects such as shafts. At this time, a test will be carried out on the effect of variations in rotational speed and friction time on the impact strength of joints in AISI 4340 steel. This study will use lathes with variations in rotational speed parameters of 720, 1000 and 1400 rpm with times of 50, 70 and 90 seconds. The material used is AISI 4340 steel in the form of a solid cylinder and impact strength testing will be carried out using the charpy method. From the research conducted, the highest average results were obtained, namely at 1400 Rpm and with a time of 90 seconds with an impact energy value of 31.93 J and an average impact price of 0.398 J/mm2. While the lowest average value is at 720 rpm variation and with a time of 50 seconds with an impact energy value of 6.43 J and an average impact price of 0.079 J/mm2. So variations in the parameters of rotational speed and friction time greatly affect the strength of the material to be impact tested.

Abstract

SDIT Alam Biruni is a private elementary school located in Jl. Sisingamangaraja Parit 7, Air Ruai, Pemali, Bangka. In managing item inventory, they are still using spreadsheet software. Also, the process of keeping the records of borrowed items is still done manually by writing them in a record book of borrowed items. The goals of this final project are a) designing and developing a website-based inventory management information system, and b) simplify the registering process of item borrowings at SDIT Alam Biruni. The development process is done by following the Waterfall development model and the design process is done by using use case diagram, activity diagram, and entity relationship diagram. The website-based inventory management information system at SDIT Alam Biruni is developed using CodeIgniter 3 framework, Sublime Text editor, PHP programming language, and MySql Database management system. The testing methods that are used to test the system are: 1) Black Box testing method and 2) user satisfaction survey. The result of this study is a website-based inventory management information system that can simplify the registering process of item borrowings at SDIT Alam Biruni, with 82,6% result of user satisfaction survey.

Abstract

The design of wind and solar power generators is the goal of utilizing solar thermal energy and wind speed on the coast. To get a design result that is in accordance with the power requirement of 720 W, therefore the results of this design have followed the steps in the VDI 2222 method. From the results of the calculations that have been carried out the Savonius type wind turbine uses an L-shaped profile, with a diameter of 710 mm and a height 592 mm can produce a power of 279.072 Wh. And for the power generated from a Polycrystalline type of solar panel with a capacity of 50 Wp as much as 1 unit can produce a power of 467.5 Wh. Based on the calculation results of the combination of wind turbines and solar panels, a power of 746.6 is obtained. So that with this power it meets the capacity of the power requirement of 720 Wh. From the results of the calculation of the strength analysis of the material on the turbine shaft with material type SS 304 using SolidWorks software, it is known that the allowable stress on the material SS 304 is 200 MPa, then the resultant torsional stress with a load of 1217 Nm produces a yield strength of 1.723e+002 N/mm2(MPa), and the max torsional stress is 1.723e+000N/ mm2 (MPa).

Abstract

Indonesia is a country rich in natural resources and natural resources. These natural resources can be in the form of wind and solar heat, wind and solar heat can be utilized as an alternative to power generation with the type of power generator in the form of wind turbines and solar panels. In certain areas there are still many that require a supply of electric power, for example in the Turun Aban Beach area. At that location there is no electricity supply at all. Meanwhile, the fishermen at the Turun Aban Beach location often carry out the process of transporting their catch at night. Therefore, to meet the needs of these fishermen, they can use alternative power generators in the form of wind turbines and solar panels. Coastal areas have great potential for wind speed and solar heat. This research examines the process of implementing wind and solar power generators that will be used as alternative lighting for fishermen on the Turun Aban Beach, Matras Bangka Village. The process of making the tool will be carried out at the PolmanBabel Mechanical Workshop. Making this tool will go through several stages such as cutting the frame material, welding, turning and also assembling the electrical circuit on the tool.

Abstract

Utilization of fly ash (fly ash) as an additive in the formation of lightweight bricks has a positive impact from an environmental point of view. Fly ash is a very fine residue from burning coal. The fineness of fly ash grains can potentially cause air pollution. Handling of fly ash (fly ash) at this time is still limited to stockpiling on vacant land. The addition of fly ash to the lightweight brick mixture can be a good mineral additive for lightweight bricks because the fly ash contains silica, which is binding. In this study, we will identify the benefits of fly ash (fly ash) as a partial replacement material for the use of cement in lightweight bricks. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of adding fly ash as a partial replacement for cement on the density and compressive strength of lightweight bricks. Variations in the percentage of fly ash used are 15%, 25%, and 35%. This study used six beam-shaped test samples, with each sample being replicated three times with a mold size of 100 mm x 50 mm x 50 mm. From this study, it was found that the best density value was when using 25% fly ash, which was 1482.4 kg/m3 with the highest compressive strength value of 17.7 MPa. It can be concluded that the percentage of fly ash used affects the density of lightweight bricks. The use of 25% fly ash on lightweight bricks produces lightweight bricks with maximum compressive strength.

Abstract

In the era of the use of technology that is currently developing. Has a major impact on the use of fiber as a composite material. One of the widely used fibers is coconut coir. Coconut coir is a natural fiber material that can be an alternative choice in the manufacture of composites. The purpose of this study was to obtain optimal tensile test values of coco fiber composite materials with variations in volume fraction of 3%, 5% and 7% and fiber lengths of 10 mm, 15 mm and 20 mm. This study analyzes the effect of variations in the volume fraction and fiber length of coconut coir with a polyester matrix on tensile testing using the Taguchi method. This tensile test was carried out using the ASTM D638 standard with the hand lay-up method. Factors that affect the tensile strength of coco fiber are volume fraction and fiber length. The combination of levels of factors that produce the average value and variance of the tensile strength of coconut coir fiber, namely the volume fraction factor (B) level 1, namely the volume fraction of 3% with a value of 30.933 and the fiber length factor (A) level 2, namely the fiber length of 15 mm with the most optimum value of 29.633.

Abstract

Welding is one of the means to achieve better economic production and has a role in the construction and metal fields. Friction welding is one of several types of welding methods. The parameters that affect the strength of the joints in friction welding are rotational speed, pressing distance and friction time. Therefore, to produce connection strength in a production, appropriate parameters are needed. This study aims to determine the effect of variations in rotational speed and pressing distance on impact strength in AISI 4140 and AISI 4340 steel joints. mm. In this study, the results obtained were that the higher the rpm rotation and the greater the pressure distance given, the melting area in the welding joint area is wide and evenly distributed which makes the weld joint strong. This is proven, using a rotational speed of 1400 rpm and a pressing distance of 4 mm has the highest impact energy yield value of 138.349 Joules and the highest impact price yield value of 1.7293 Joules/mm2 . Meanwhile, the lowest value of the impact energy yield is 14.266 Joules and the lowest value of the impact price is 0.1783 Joules/mm2 using a rotational speed of 720 rpm and a pressing distance of 2 mm.

Abstract

Cie-Cie Koeraw is an UMKM engaged in the culinary field, namely the sale of brittle products in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province. This UMKM have difficulty competing with other businesses that have used e-commerce in marketing. For this reason, it is necessary to develop a sales management system for this UMKM with an emphasis on sales and management features to be able to manage buying and selling transactions and reporting. The development method used to develop the intended system is the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method. This method consists of 4 phases, namely planning, design, construction, and testing. The testing was carried out using the blackbox testing method which concluded that the system could run properly. In addition, user acceptance testing was also carried out by producing a satisfaction percentage of 82,83% for the ease of use of the system, 82,67% for the benefits of using the system, and 84,67% for the suitability of the system with user requests.
