Abstract

This study aims to identify and rank the factors influencing commuters’ public transport choices and to evaluate their preferences for different modes of transport. A quantitative survey was conducted with 63 provided consistent responses based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). Four decision criteria were assessed: cost, safety, time efficiency, and comfort. Alongside five public transport alternatives: city bus, intercity bus, feeder bus, commuter train, and public minivan. Results revealed that time efficiency is the most influential factor shaping commuters’ choices, followed by safety, cost, and comfort. In terms of mode preference, the commuter train ranked highest, reflecting its reliability and punctuality, while public minivan ranked lowest, primarily due to declining service quality and competition from ride-hailing services. These findings highlight the need to prioritize service reliability of time efficiency, safety, and affordability to increase public transport usage in Surabaya.

Abstract

Teacher performance assessments in vocational education units need to be designed objectively, comprehensively, and involve various sources of assessors so that the portrait of teacher work quality can be mapped more reliably. This study aims to analyze the application of the 360-degree feedback method in the performance assessment process of productive TKJ and RPL teachers at SMK PAB 8 Sampali. The study used a mixed method approach with data collection through Likert-scale questionnaires, interviews, and learning document reviews. The research subjects were 20 productive teachers. Data analysis was carried out by converting quantitative scores and strengthening qualitative narratives through source triangulation. The results showed that the application of 360-degree feedback provided a more balanced assessment picture through the involvement of the principal, colleagues, students, and teacher self-evaluation. These findings reinforce the urgency of using multi-source-based assessments to improve the quality of the learning process in competency-based vocational schools

Abstract

This study was motivated by the enormous potential of sago in the Meranti Islands Regency as the area with the highest acreage and productivity in Riau Province, but which has not yet provided optimal added value to the community's economy due to limitations in technology, markets, and MSME capacity. The study aims to formulate strategies for strengthening the sago agroindustry through a SWOT analysis summarized in IFAS and EFAS matrices to assess its strategic position and development alternatives. The results show that sago productivity has increased, but downstreaming and product quality are not yet optimal. The strategic position is in the Hold and Maintain category, indicating sufficient internal strength but facing external pressures such as competition and limited infrastructure. The strengthening strategy focuses on technological modernization, SME empowerment, product development, digital market expansion, quality certification, and integrated upstream-downstream partnerships to enhance competitiveness and sustainable community welfare.

This study aims to examine the effectiveness and contribution of Non-Metal and Rock Mineral Tax revenues to the Regional Original Revenue. The research employed field research and library research methods, with a descriptive data analysis approach. The results indicate that the effectiveness level of Non-Metal and Rock Mineral Tax realization during the 2022–2024 period was classified as very effective, with an average effectiveness rate of 187.76%. Specifically, the effectiveness reached 283.53% in 2022, decreased to 136.27% in 2023, and slightly increased to 143.48% in 2024. In terms of contribution to PAD, this tax demonstrated a very low performance, with an average contribution of only 6.23%. The contribution was 4.55% in 2022, increased to 5.78% in 2023, and reached 8.36% in 2024. These findings suggest that although the tax is highly effective in achieving revenue targets, its contribution to overall regional revenue remains relatively limited.

Abstract

Buton weaving is a cultural heritage rich in philosophical and symbolic values. This study aims to examine Buton weaving from the perspective of motif usage as a representation of the identity of the Buton community. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews with local weavers and a literature review to explore the extent to which Buton weaving conveys symbolic meanings and cultural identity through its patterns and motifs. The findings reveal that the motifs used in Buton weaving are often inspired by nature, particularly local flora and fauna, reflecting the close relationship between the Buton people and their natural environment. In addition, traditional elements and local cultural symbols are embedded in the designs, representing social values, customs, and beliefs. The use of bright and contrasting colors is a distinctive characteristic that differentiates Buton weaving from textiles of other regions. Furthermore, the intricate and detailed weaving techniques demonstrate the high level of craftsmanship, artistic skill, and cultural knowledge possessed by local weavers.

Abstract

This study aimed to explore collagen content and bioactive peptides derived from scales and gills of endemic upstream fish from Gorontalo, to evaluate their antioxidant activity, fibroblast proliferation stimulation in vitro, and antidiabetic potential through inhibition of ?-glucosidase and ?-amylase enzymes, supporting the development of local diabetic wound therapy agents. Fish scales and gills were dried, ground, and extracted using acetic acid. Collagen was precipitated, dried, and hydrolyzed with pepsin to obtain peptides <10 kDa. Collagen content was determined using a hydroxyproline assay. Antioxidant activity was evaluated using DPPH and ABTS assays. Fibroblast proliferation was assessed by a scratch assay under hyperglycemic conditions (25 mM glucose). Antidiabetic potential was examined through in vitro inhibition of ?-glucosidase and ?-amylase. Results showed that collagen content in scales was higher than in gills. Both extracts exhibited significant antioxidant activity, enhanced fibroblast proliferation, and demonstrated inhibitory effects on ?-glucosidase and ?-amylase. These findings indicate that fish scales and gills are promising sustainable biomaterials for diabetic wound therapy and local pharmaceutical innovation.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a long-term metabolic disorder marked by elevated blood sugar levels and can lead to long-term complications, including peripheral neuropathy, which causes decreased foot sensitivity and increases the risk of ulcers and amputation. Preventive efforts can be carried out through physical exercises such as Active Lower Range of Motion, which help improve peripheral blood circulation and nerve sensitivity. This study employed a quasi-experimental approach using a pretest–posttest control group design involving 36 respondents with type 2 DM. The intervention consisted of regular Active Lower ROM exercises, and foot sensitivity was assessed using a 10-gram monofilament. The results showed that most respondents were 60–70 years old and predominantly female. Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney analyses indicated a notable change was observed between the pre-intervention and post-intervention results (p=0.000), demonstrating that ALROM exercises effectively reduce the risk of peripheral neuropathy. This exercise can serve as a safe, simple, and beneficial non-pharmacological therapy for individuals with type 2 DM.

Abstract

This study investigates the difficulties faced by Indonesian learners in developing Korean reading proficiency, focusing on students enrolled in the Korean Language Program at Universitas Madani Indonesia. Using a qualitative exploratory design, data were collected through questionnaires and in-depth interviews with seven selected participants. The findings reveal five major obstacles: insufficient vocabulary knowledge, heavy reliance on translation tools, structural and grammatical challenges, and difficulties understanding various text types. Learners also struggle to identify main ideas due to limited discourse-processing skills. These challenges stem from typological differences between Korean and Indonesian, restricted reading exposure, and inadequate cultural knowledge. The study highlights the need for instruction that integrates vocabulary development, explicit grammar teaching, scaffolded text engagement, and cultural literacy. The results offer important insights for improving Korean reading pedagogy in Indonesian educational contexts.
