Abstract

Customer loyalty has become a critical issue in beauty clinic services, where customers evaluate not only service performance but also the credibility, safety, and trustworthiness of the provider. This study examines the effects of service quality and customer trust on customer loyalty among beauty clinic customers in Kendari, Indonesia. Drawing on service quality theory and relationship marketing theory, this study positions service quality as a functional evaluation mechanism and customer trust as a relational confidence mechanism in explaining customer loyalty. A quantitative survey was conducted involving 77 beauty clinic customers, and the data were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4. The findings show that both service quality and customer trust positively contribute to customer loyalty. Customer trust has a stronger effect than service quality, indicating that loyalty in beauty clinic services is shaped more by customers’ confidence in the clinic’s competence, honesty, safety, and care orientation than by service performance alone. The theoretical contribution of this study lies in extending service marketing literature by demonstrating that customer loyalty in risk-sensitive and experience-based services is better explained through the integration of functional service evaluation and relational trust. Practically, the findings suggest that beauty clinic managers should strengthen customer retention strategies by improving service quality while prioritizing transparent communication, professional competence, safe procedures, and consistent trust-building practices.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of educational service quality and institutional image on student loyalty, with perceived value positioned as a moderating variable, in private higher education institutions in Kendari City, Indonesia. Drawing on service marketing and relationship marketing perspectives, this study argues that student loyalty is shaped not only by functional service experiences but also by reputational and value-based evaluations. A quantitative cross-sectional survey was conducted involving 70 students from private higher education institutions. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling with SmartPLS 4. The findings reveal that educational service quality has the strongest positive effect on student loyalty, indicating the importance of reliable academic services, lecturer competence, administrative responsiveness, learning facilities, and digital academic support. Institutional image also positively influences student loyalty, suggesting that reputation, credibility, graduate image, and academic image are strategic assets for private higher education institutions. Perceived value contributes to student loyalty, although its moderating role requires cautious interpretation. The study contributes to higher education service marketing by positioning student loyalty as a relational outcome shaped by service quality, institutional image, and perceived value. Practically, private higher education institutions should strengthen service responsiveness, institutional credibility, and value-based student experiences to enhance loyalty.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of firm size, profitability, and solvency on audit delay using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The study employed 15 articles published during the 2021–2026 period obtained from Google Scholar. The results indicate that most studies found that firm size and profitability tend to reduce audit delay, while solvency tends to prolong audit delay. A total of 10 articles supported the effect of firm size on audit delay, 8 articles supported the effect of profitability, and 9 articles supported the effect of solvency. Meanwhile, several other studies reported insignificant results due to differences in industry characteristics, operational complexity, and the quality of the company’s internal control systems. This study demonstrates that audit delay is influenced not only by the company’s financial condition but also by the effectiveness of corporate governance and the company’s audit process.

Abstract

The integration of information systems and big data in the public sector creates opportunities to improve government service quality, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making. However, rapid technological adoption generates increasingly complex challenges related to data ethics and citizen information security, particularly amid the growth of generative artificial intelligence and hybrid cloud computing. This study aims to identify, analyze, and map the ethical and data security challenges faced by public institutions in adopting integrated big data ecosystems. The study employed a systematic literature review (SLR) with a qualitative descriptive approach, examining 58 relevant scientific publications published between 2020 and 2025. The literature was analyzed using thematic synthesis through systematic coding, categorization, and grouping of recurring findings into major themes. The findings identify five major challenges: (1) privacy violations arising from mass data collection and citizen profiling without explicit consent; (2) increased cybersecurity risks within integrated information infrastructures; (3) algorithmic bias and unfairness in AI-based automated decision-making; (4) gaps in the implementation of personal data protection regulations at the regional level; and (5) weak cross-institutional data governance. Unlike previous reviews that tend to examine data ethics, cybersecurity, or digital transformation separately, this study develops an integrated framework linking ethical challenges, security risks, regulatory gaps, and governance weaknesses. This contribution provides a comprehensive foundation for future research and policy development. The study recommends strengthening data governance, implementing Privacy by Design and Security by Default, adopting AI ethics frameworks, and developing human resource capacity.
