Abstract

Moral degradation and intolerance among students due to globalization remain serious challenges. The implementation of character education within the 2013 Curriculum and the Merdeka Curriculum is hindered by theoretical approaches and weak collaboration among families, schools, and communities. This qualitative literature study formulates an integrative model combining Ki Hajar Dewantara's Three Centers of Education and Religious Moderation as a holistic character construction strategy. Data were thematically analyzed from journal articles, books, and policy documents using source triangulation. This research yields three main findings. First, the synergy of the Three Centers of Education requires active roles from families, teachers, and communities. Second, Religious Moderation is rooted in Islamic moderation (wasathiyah) and is uniquely integrated with local wisdom. Third, the effectiveness of this synergy is empirically confirmed, with an increase in students' moderate attitudes by up to 45%. This model aligns with Bronfenbrenner's Ecological Systems Theory and is characterized by a religio-cultural approach, structural involvement of community organizations, and utilization of local wisdom. Consequently, these findings contribute to presenting an ecological model that integrates the Three Centers of Education and Religious Moderation, along with strategic policy recommendations. This study underscores the need for a paradigm shift towards an ecosystem approach based on the collective commitment of all stakeholders.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to analyze the existence of the Ramadan ngaji pasaran tradition as a legacy of Nusantara Islamic education at YPI Al-Ittihad Kedungbanteng Tegal. This study employs a qualitative approach using descriptive methods through observation, interviews, and documentation, analyzed inductively. The results of the study indicate that “ngaji pasaran” is a non-formal Islamic educational practice that has been consistently carried out since 2018 and serves not only as a means of studying classical Islamic texts through the bandongan method but also as a medium for transmitting the values of Nusantara Islamic education. This tradition strengthens the continuity of the pesantren’s scholarly network through direct relationships between ustadz and students, emphasizing aspects of scholarly lineage (sanad), etiquette (adab), and blessings (barakah) in the learning process. The educational values fostered include spiritual and religious values, discipline and responsibility, respect for teachers, and social solidarity among students. Amid the development of the digital era, ngaji pasaran remains relevant as a space for religious learning that possesses clear scholarly authority and is capable of strengthening the religious character of participants. Despite facing challenges such as technological distractions, time constraints, and fluctuations in student participation, this tradition endures through institutional support and the commitment of participants to preserving the continuity of the Islamic Nusantara educational heritage. Abstract

This study examines the effects of peace education fundamentals on the cognitive and behavioural characteristics of Mindanao State University-General Santos City students. A non-profit process, specifically a proportionate sampling technique, was employed to identify the respondents, and a questionnaire was utilized to collect the necessary data. A descriptive survey method was used. Frequency, mean, and grand mean are the statistical techniques used in data analysis. According to this study, students can comprehend the general objectives of the FPE101 subject since they have a high level of understanding of the subject's goal of resolving conflicts amicably (grand mean 4.46). With a grand mean of 4.03, the cognitive impact on students' understanding of peace concepts in Islam, other religions, and spiritual traditions is quite strong since they are able to identify similarities in the ideas of peace across different faiths. Additionally, students have a high level of knowledge about conflict and violence because they can recognize the value of determining the root cause of a conflict. Additionally, students' cognitive understanding of conflict resolution has a grand mean of 4.03 because they are developing their active listening skills. Nonetheless, upon their completion of FPE101, students consistently advocate for universal ideals that are pertinent to them. The students suggest enhancing the FPE101 course by supplying additional reading resources focused on peace education and creating chances for intercultural interactions among Indigenous Peoples, Muslims, and Lumads within the university.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low level of understanding among second-grade Tsanawiyah students at the Madrasah Diniyah Putri of Babussalam Islamic Boarding School. In essence, each student demonstrates varying levels of comprehension according to their individual abilities. Some students are able to grasp and understand the material immediately, while others require several stages or processes to fully comprehend the explanations delivered by their teachers. The research problem addressed in this study is: how is the implementation of the memorization method of nadzoman from the Imrithi book in enhancing students’ understanding of nahwu among second-grade Tsanawiyah students at the Madrasah Diniyah Putri of Babussalam Islamic Boarding School, Pagelaran Malang? Accordingly, the objective of this study is to examine the implementation of the memorization method of nadzoman from the Imrithi book in improving students’ understanding of nahwu. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method based on Sugiyono’s theoretical framework. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings of this study indicate that the implementation of the memorization method of nadzoman from the Imrithi book significantly improves students’ understanding of nahwu material in an easier and more efficient manner. Students demonstrate progress in memorizing each verse of the nadzoman fluently. In addition, students are able to comprehend the nahwu material presented in the Imrithi book and successfully memorize the corresponding verses for each topic. Abstract

The standardization of Arabic language proficiency testing through the Test of Arabic as a Foreign Language (TOAFL) has become an urgent necessity amidst global education demands. However, aligning TOAFL instruments with the international standards of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) still faces complex psychometric challenges. This study aims to conduct a systematic literature review on the psychometric evaluation of TOAFL instruments within the CEFR framework, focusing on validity, reliability, and the effectiveness of using Confidence Level (CL) to minimize the guessing factor. The method employed is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following the PRISMA protocol. An analysis was conducted on journal articles (ranging from 2018–2026) sourced from Google Scholar, DOAJ, and SINTA databases through content analysis and synthesis techniques. The findings indicate that most TOAFL instruments exhibit high reliability in Tarakib (Structure) and Qira’ah (Reading) aspects, equivalent to CEFR levels A2-B1. However, a significant gap exists in measuring levels B2-C2 due to a lack of productive-communicative items. The integration of Confidence Level has proven to enhance diagnostic accuracy regarding the test-takers' actual abilities compared to conventional multiple-choice tests. Reconstructing TOAFL instruments based on psychometric data aligned with CEFR descriptors is essential to ensure global validity and the international competitiveness of Arabic language program graduates.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the increasing cases of bullying in schools, which negatively impact students' character development. Although character education has been implemented in the Merdeka Curriculum, many students are still involved as perpetrators or victims of bullying. This study aims to analyze bullying behavior and explore character education strategies that can be applied to overcome it, particularly through values of empathy, responsibility, and the active involvement of teachers and the school environment. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that physical and verbal bullying are the most common forms occurring at MTs Sultan Agung Kalipare. The strategies applied include giving advice, instilling religious values through Quranic and Kitab recitation activities, and anti-bullying socialization. This approach aims to build morality, strengthen faith, and create a safe and harmonious school culture.

Abstract

Aswaja merupakan identitas ajaran dan paham keagamaan yang dipegang teguh oleh kaum Nahdliyyin yang diupayakan dengan semaksimal kemampuan untuk dapat diwariskan dari generasi tua kepada generasi muda dan seterusnya hingga kepada generasi yang akan lahir sepanjang masa. Nahdlatul Ulama merupakan salah satu organisasi keagamaan yang berada di Indonesia, ciri-ciri Nahdlatul Ulama adalah tetap mempertahankan tradisi dan budaya masyarakat Indonesia yang sudah ada seperti berdzikir berjama’ah setelah sholat, jamaah rutin yasin dan tahlil, ziarah kubur, istighotsah/mujahadah, tawasul, berzanjen, diba’an, manaqiban dan sebagainya. Inilah yang membedakan ahlussunnah wal jama’ah dengan organisasi paham keagamaan lainnya. Aktivitas dzikir, ziarah, tahlil, sholawatan, manaqiban dan istighosah sangat kental dan melekat dalam ubudiyah ahlussunnah wal jama’ah. Sehingga bisa terlihat jelas dari ubudiyah yang dilaksanakannya. Oleh karenanya, dalam rangka merealisasikan budaya yang dibangun dalam ahlussunnah wal jama’ah dibutuhkan pemahaman yang kuat sehingga diharapkan dapat diaktualisasikan dalam kehidupan khususnya dalam kehidupan di era milenial seperti saat ini. Oleh karenanya penelitian ini memaparkan secara jelas pertama tentang makna dari paham ahlussunnah wal jama’ah, kedua tentang karakteristik paham ahlussunnah wal jama’ah, dan selanjutnya aktualisasi paham aswaja dalam kehidupan generasi milenial.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low ability of some students (santri) in reading Arabic texts, particularly in terms of pronunciation accuracy (makhraj), reading fluency, and vocabulary comprehension. In practice, the teaching of the Qur’an and Arabic language has often been conducted separately, resulting in less optimal outcomes in developing students’ Arabic reading skills. This study aims to describe the implementation of an integrated learning model combining Qur’anic instruction and Arabic language learning, as well as its impact on students’ ability to read Arabic texts at Rumah Ilmu Al-Qur’an (RIQA). This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving 15 students. The findings indicate that the integrated learning model significantly improves students’ ability to read Arabic texts, as evidenced by improvements in pronunciation accuracy, reading fluency, and vocabulary comprehension. The integration model is implemented through the Jibril method (talqin–talaqqi), repetition (takrir), and habituation (ta’wid) in a systematic manner. Supporting factors include a Qur’anic learning environment and structured instructional methods, while inhibiting factors include differences in students’ initial abilities and limited instructional time. This study recommends the integrative learning model as an effective approach to Arabic language instruction based on the Qur’an, particularly in enhancing students’ reading competence in a more contextual and meaningful way.

Abstract

Current Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning often shows a tendency towards pedagogical reductionism that is only oriented towards cognitive aspects and textual memorization, thus creating a gap between text understanding and authentic appreciation of values. This study aims to analyze the process of internalizing Qur'anic values through a psycholinguistic approach in seventh-grade students at Tsurayya Islamic School Malang, the role of this approach in facilitating mental processing, and its implications for the formation of religious character. The method used is a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, which were then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana as well as thematic analysis. The research instrument focused on indicators of cognitive processes such as meaning construction and affective dimensions such as emotional resonance. The results show that the internalization of Qur'anic values is a multidimensional phenomenon involving the continuous integration of cognitive, affective, and action aspects. The psycholinguistic approach has been proven to act as a bridging framework that connects the text of revelation with the construction of mental meaning through the stages of linguistic perception, decoding , and meaning integration. Reflective activities and the interpretation of the language of the Quran can trigger emotional engagement that strengthens the retention of values in students' long-term memory. In conclusion, the integration of linguistic, cognitive, and affective dimensions in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning can produce a stable and tangible transformation of religious character in everyday behavior. The success of this internalization depends heavily on pedagogical strategies that can orchestrate conceptual understanding with meaningful spiritual experiences.
