Abstract

This study explores the values of anti-violence in the Arabic textbook Arabiyah Lil Hayah (ALH) and the perceptions of students at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang regarding these values. The background of this research stems from the rising cases of violence in Indonesia's educational sector, highlighting the need for systematic efforts to cultivate student character that upholds peace and tolerance. One approach to achieving this is through textbooks that incorporate these values into their learning content. This research employs a qualitative method with a critical discourse analysis approach based on corpus linguistics. The data were obtained from two primary sources: the content of the ALH textbooks (volumes 1 to 4), analyzed using AntConc software, and the results of a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) involving 104 first-semester students participating in the Special Arabic Language Development Program (Program Khusus Pengembangan Bahasa Arab or PKPBA). The findings show that the ALH textbooks explicitly and implicitly convey anti-violence messages through narratives, dialogues, and illustrations depicting peaceful conflict resolution, the importance of consultation (musyawarah), and the exemplary character of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in dealing with differences. Students' perceptions of these values were very positive; they emphasized the importance of dialogue-based approaches, polite communication, and respect for others' rights in social life. This study demonstrates that textbooks play a significant role in instilling anti-violence character in students. However, the scope of the study is limited to indicators of religious moderation and a single institution. Therefore, future research is recommended to expand the sample and examine other indicators, such as tolerance and national commitment.

Abstract

الوضع النفسي للشباب في العصر المعاصر يواجه تحديات معقدة تخلق ضغوطا نفسية كبيرة، خاصة في البعد الأكاديمي والروحي. وغالبا ما يتم إهمال البعد الروحي في سياق التعليم، مع أن هذا الجانب له دور أساسي في إعطاء معنى للحياة لدى الطلاب. يهدف هذا البحث إلى تحليل أثر تطبيق النموذج التعليمي باليقظة الذهنية على الوعي الروحي للطلاب في مدرسة س م ك نغيري 1 تورين. اعتمد البحث المنهج الكمي بتصميم شبه تجريبي، وشارك فيه 87 طالبا من الصف الحادي عشر، تم تقسيمهم إلى مجموعة تجريبية (44 طالبا) ومجموعة ضابطة (43 طالبا). جُمعت البيانات باستخدام استبانة الوعي الروحي بعد التحقق من صدقها، وتم تحليلها باختبار t للعينات المترابطة واختبار t للعينات المستقلة. أظهرت النتائج ارتفاعا ملحوظا في المجموعة التجريبية حيث ارتفع متوسط الدرجات من 38.73 إلى 81.82 (زيادة بمقدار 43.09 نقطة)، بينما لم تسجل المجموعة الضابطة سوى زيادة طفيفة من 39.23 إلى 39.88. وأسفر التحليل الإحصائي عن قيمة p بلغت 0.000 (p < 0.05) مع حجم أثر كبير جدا .(Cohen's d = 38.45) أثبت النموذج التعليمي باليقظة الذهنية فعاليته في رفع مستوى الوعي الروحي لدى الطلاب بشكل ملحوظ. ويوصى بأن تعمل المؤسسات التعليمية على دمج ممارسات اليقظة الذهنية في العملية التعليمية لتطوير الجانب الروحي للطلاب بشكل متكامل

Abstract

Interactive approaches have become one of the effective strategies in teaching Arabic, especially to improve students' communication skills. This study uses the literature review method to analyze the application of interactive strategies in Arabic language learning and its impact on students' speaking and listening skills. Data sources were obtained from scientific journal articles, books, and official education documents published in the last five years (2020–2025). The analysis is carried out qualitatively through data reduction, grouping of findings, and synthesis of information to identify best practices and implementation challenges. The results of the study showed that an interactive approach that combines collaboration, active participation, and the use of technology has been shown to improve communication skills, learning motivation, and student engagement. The main obstacles in the implementation of this strategy include limited resources, lack of teacher training, and resistance to new methods. This study provides insights for educators and policymakers in designing more effective and innovative Arabic language learning strategies.

Abstract

Character education in Indonesia faces complex challenges in the era of globalization, while the potential of local traditions as learning media has not been utilized optimally. This study aims to analyze the role of the tradition of the Prophet Muhammad's Mawlid as a contextual and inclusive medium for character education in Indonesian multicultural society. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a literature study method, analyzed through content and thematic analysis techniques. The results show that Mawlid is a form of acculturation between Islam and Nusantara culture, rich in educational values such as religiosity, tolerance, and mutual cooperation. This tradition functions as a social laboratory for practicing character values, an effective medium for cultural propagation (dakwah), and a unifying vessel for the nation that revitalizes Pancasila values. The research concludes by underlining that Mawlid is a living tradition relevant for strengthening national character, with significant implications for the development of character education and national cultural policies based on local wisdom.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low level of students' understanding of Nahwu (Arabic grammar) at Madrasah Diniyah Putri Babussalam, which is attributed to the use of traditional teaching methods that lack engagement and the students’ limited mastery of the Arabic language, particularly in reading classical Islamic texts (kitab kuning). As an alternative solution, the Nadzom Kunci Nahwu (NKN) method was implemented, a summarized version of the Jurumiyah text presented in 150 poetic stanzas in the Indonesian language, structured into ten stages of learning through a prefix-suffix approach. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the application of NKN has had a positive impact on enhancing students’ learning motivation, memorization skills, and comprehension of Nahwu and classical texts. However, challenges remain, such as a reliance on rote memorization and limited grammatical understanding if not supported by supplementary analytical methods.

Abstract

This study examines the importance of internalizing the values of Ahlussunnah wal Jama‘ah (Aswaja) as the foundation of Peace Education in the global era. Aswaja, as the religious manhaj (methodology) of the majority of Indonesian Muslims, emphasizes the principles of moderation (tawassuth), balance (tawazun), tolerance (tasamuh), and justice (i‘tidal). These principles are closely related to Peace Education, which aims to build a culture of peace, promote non-violent conflict resolution, and encourage respect for diversity. The research method used is a case study approach. Data collection was conducted using three techniques: observation, interviews, and documentation. In addition, a literature review was carried out by analyzing references on Aswaja and Peace Education. The findings of the study show that: 1) The concept of Aswaja values at SMP Islam Kalipare is based on the values of tawassuth, i‘tidal, tawazun, and tasamuh. 2) The process of instilling Aswaja values takes place in three stages: a) Aswaja Knowing–understanding through learning activities inside and outside the classroom, such as religious activities. b) Aswaja Feeling–habituating students to practice Aswaja values in school. c) Aswaja Action–implementing these habituated values both inside and outside the school. 3) The results of internalizing Aswaja values include strengthening Islamic piety in line with a moderate, tolerant, and humanistic Ahlussunnah wal Jama‘ah identity. This is reflected in students’ social attitudes: they are not fanatical toward anyone, are fair to themselves and others, maintain balance in social relations and worship to Allah SWT, and are able to accept and respect differences. Consequently, they can live harmoniously and peacefully in society. The internalization of Aswaja values through Islamic educational institutions can reinforce the moderate character of the younger generation, prevent radicalism, and contribute to global peace.

Abstract

In the era of globalization, every human being must receive an education. Education is essential for human life, as it seeks to develop positive traits ad minimize negative ones, enabling humans to achive happines and peace in both this world and the hereafter. The ai of national education is to enlighten the life of the nation and develop the whole indonesian human being, namely a human being who believes in and is devoted to god almighty and has noble character, has knowladge and skill is physically and spiritualyy healthi, has a strong and independent personality and a sense of social and national responsibility. Improving morals is a primary mission for educational instutions. Therefore, methods are a highly influential component in education, particulary in relation to the process of developing students molars. The methods used by islamic reregious teachers in developing student morals will significantly influence their understanding and practice of moral values, particulary when they influence student awarness of practicing these noble valuaes.

Abstract

This study examines how the prophetic tradition (hadith) of al-ṭuhūr is actualized, internalized, and functions as symbolic capital in shaping the cleanliness habitus of students at Pesantren Al-Ihsan, Malang. Cleanliness practices in pesantren reflect a dialectic between Islamic ideals and students’ varying levels of awareness. Using a qualitative approach with a living hadith design and Pierre Bourdieu’s habitus theory, data were collected through participant observation, interviews, and document analysis. Findings show that the hadith is actualized through students’ normative understanding of cleanliness as part of faith, personal and communal practices, and reinforcement through social interaction. Internalization occurs through formal regulations, monitoring, exemplary behavior of teachers, and routine habituation. These mechanisms serve as symbolic capital that legitimizes and strengthens compliance. Continuous habituation produces stable dispositions, evident in students’ spontaneous cleanliness practices. The study concludes that the synergy between living hadith and habitus forms a circular process that sustains the hadith in daily pesantren life, highlighting pesantren as an effective arena for character formation.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to analyze the lived experiences of Indonesian women workers in interpreting work dignity, professional challenges, and the role of hadith as an ethical framework in the contemporary workplace. The research employs a qualitative approach using a phenomenological method. The participants consist of eight women of productive working age who are actively employed in both the formal and informal sectors in Indonesia. They were selected through purposive sampling based on criteria of having work experience and a willingness to reflect deeply on their experiences. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and open-ended narrative questionnaires, and then analyzed using Braun and Clarke’s six-phase thematic analysis. The findings identify three main themes. First, women’s work dignity is constructed through recognition of competence, trust, and consistency in organizational practices, rather than solely through material compensation. Second, the challenges faced by working women arise from the intersection of dual role demands, limited structural flexibility, and the quality of the work environment, all of which influence psychological well-being and the meaning of work. Third, the spirit of hadith—particularly the values of trustworthiness (amanah), honesty, and professionalism—is internalized as an ethical orientation for evaluating work practices and professional relationships. This study contributes academically by bridging research on the phenomenology of women’s work and hadith studies, and by offering an interdisciplinary approach that positions hadith as a relevant and applicable framework for work ethics within the context of modern employment in Indonesia. Abstract

يُعَدُّ تعليمُ علمِ الصَّرْفِ من العناصرِ الأساسيةِ في اكتسابِ اللُّغةِ العربية؛ لارتباطِه المباشرِ بفهمِ بِنْيةِ الكلمةِ، وتغيُّرِ المعنى، والقدرةِ على توليدِ الصِّيَغِ المورفولوجيّةِ المناسبةِ في سياقِ التواصُل. غيرَ أنَّ الممارساتِ التعليميّةَ لعلمِ الصَّرْفِ في كثيرٍ من المؤسَّساتِ التعليميّةِ لا تزالُ تقليديّةً، وغيرَ قائمةٍ على مستوى كفاءةِ المتعلِّمين، إذ تُقدَّمُ المادةُ نفسُها للمبتدئين والمتوسِّطين والمتقدِّمين دون تدرُّجٍ واضح. ويؤدّي هذا الواقعُ إلى ضعفِ اكتسابِ الكفاءاتِ الصَّرفيّة، وزيادةِ العبءِ المعرفيِّ، وقصورِ نقلِ المعرفةِ إلى مهاراتِ الاستعمالِ اللغويِّ الفعليِّ. تهدفُ هذه الدراسةُ إلى تحليلِ ورسمِ خريطةِ الكفاءاتِ الصَّرفيّةِ المناسبةِ لمتعلِّمي اللُّغةِ العربيّةِ في المستوى المبتدئ في ضوءِ الإطارِ الأوروبيِّ المرجعيِّ المشتركِ للُّغات (CEFR)، ولا سيّما في المستويين A1–A2. وتعتمدُ الدراسةُ على المنهجِ المكتبيِّ باستخدامِ أسلوبِ تحليلِ المضمون، من خلالِ تحليلِ وثائقِCEFR، والمراجعِ اللغويّةِ العربيّةِ، والدراساتِ ذاتِ الصِّلةِ بتعليمِ الصَّرْف. وتُبيِّنُ النتائجُ أنَّ الكفاءاتِ الصَّرفيّةَ في المستوى المبتدئ تشملُ التعرّفَ على أنواعِ الفعلِ وأزمنتِه، والتمييزَ بين الفعلِ الصحيحِ والمعتلِّ، وفهمَ مفهوميِ الفعلِ المجرَّدِ والمزيدِ، ووظيفةَ زيادةِ الحروفِ، وإسنادَ الأفعالِ إلى الضمائر. وتُسهمُ هذه الكفاءاتُ إسهامًا مباشرًا في توسيعِ المدى اللغويِّ (Range) وتعزيزِ الضبطِ اللغويِّ (Control) كما يؤكِّدُ عليه إطارُ CEFR. وبناءً على ذلك، تُعَدُّ خريطةُ الكفاءاتِ الصَّرفيّةِ القائمةِ على CEFR أساسًا استراتيجيًّا لتطويرِ مناهجِ وموادِّ تعليمِ الصَّرْفِ بصورةٍ أكثرَ تدرُّجًا، وواقعيّةً، وتواصليّةً لمتعلِّمي اللُّغةِ العربيّةِ في المرحلةِ المبتدئة. الكلمات المفتاحية: الكفاءات الصرفيّة، تعليم اللُّغة العربيّة، الإطار الأوروبي المرجعي المشترك (CEFR)، الصرف العربي، المتعلِّمون المبتدئون.
