Abstract

This article analyzes the general state of madrasas in the Samarkand region, including their quantity and income, at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries. The exact number of students enrolled in these madrasas is provided based on historical sources. The study examines the geographical distribution of madrasas within the Samarkand region and explores the reasons for the disproportionate allocation of students among them. Additionally, the article provides detailed information about the learning process in the madrasas, including the academic subjects taught and the books used. An objective assessment is offered regarding the achievements and shortcomings of the educational process, as well as the quality of teaching materials. Furthermore, the study sheds light on the educational practices of Samarkand madrasas during this period, comparing them with those of madrasas in other regions.

Abstract

The article examines confessional conflicts as a form of social conflict in multi-ethnic and multi-religious societies. The reasons for the origin of confessional conflicts, stages of development and methods of their resolution are analyzed. The author details cultural pluralism and the struggle for economic and political supremacy between denominations, as well as the impact of these conflicts on societal stability. Different models of conflict resolution are considered and their positive and negative aspects are analyzed. The main idea of the article is that the resolution of confessional disputes is important in maintaining and developing social and political stability of society.

Abstract

There are various views on the nature of faith (Iman). One perspective, held by the Khawarij, suggests that faith is merely the affirmation of obedience and disobedience; they argue that a person who sins is considered a non-believer, and only their obedience is seen as a confirmation of their faith. On the other hand, the Mutazilites believe that faith is a combination of belief and deeds, emphasizing that faith is established both by words and actions. They assert that belief in the heart is crucial, while external actions only complement the inner belief. Other theological schools, like the Najjarites and Karramiyyah, focus on the importance of verbal declaration and belief in the heart, differentiating between a person’s inner faith and outward affirmation. The Ahl al-Sunnah's view aligns with the understanding that faith is the inner affirmation in the heart, and verbal affirmation is essential for recognizing someone as a believer in the worldly context. According to the Sighnī (author), the true nature of faith is rooted in the heart's confirmation and the verbal declaration, which ensures the preservation of a person's life and property in this world. However, they clarify that one's faith is not based solely on deeds or verbal expressions but is a matter of sincere internal belief.

Abstract

The article examines changes in the political life of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Middle East at the end of the 20th century, namely, the conduct of an independent foreign policy by the president without the approval of other authorities (the clergy are meant). As a result, Tehran began to fulfill its foreign policy tasks, and this in turn contributed to maintaining friendly relations with the Arab monarchies of the Persian Gulf.

Abstract

This article analyzes nature and its blessings in the works of Mahmud al-Zamakhshari (d. 1144), a renowned Islamic scholar and theologian best known for his contributions to Arabic grammar, rhetoric, and tafsir (Quranic exegesis). Al-Zamakhshari’s treatment of nature is deeply rooted in his belief in the signs of God’s power and wisdom embedded in the world. The paper examines how his works reveal a holistic view of nature, not only as a physical phenomenon but as a divine manifestation that serves as a medium for spiritual reflection and moral guidance.

Abstract

Media sosial berperan penting dalam meningkatkan kesadaran lingkungan di kalangan milenial melalui penyebaran informasi dan promosi perilaku pro-lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis peran media sosial dalam membangun kesadaran lingkungan dan tantangan yang dihadapi. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif berbasis studi literatur, penelitian ini mengkaji artikel jurnal, buku, dan laporan yang relevan dari berbagai database akademik. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa media sosial efektif dalam memperdalam pemahaman tentang isu-isu lingkungan seperti perubahan iklim dan polusi plastik, serta memotivasi adopsi praktik berkelanjutan melalui interaksi dengan influencer, konten interaktif, dan kampanye sosial. Namun, tantangan seperti disinformasi, bias algoritma, dan keterlibatan dangkal membatasi dampak positifnya. Meskipun demikian, media sosial tetap menjadi alat strategis untuk edukasi dan mobilisasi perilaku ramah lingkungan, terutama jika dimanfaatkan secara kritis dan disertai peningkatan literasi media. Penelitian ini menekankan perlunya optimalisasi media sosial untuk mendorong keberlanjutan di kalangan milenial
