Abstract

This article examines Rabindranath Tagore’s philosophy of religious tolerance and universal human unity as a normative framework for an age of globalization marked by intensified interdependence, pluralization of faiths, and rising extremism. Through close readings of Sadhana, The Religion of Man, Gitanjali, and Nationalism, it reconstructs Tagore’s “religion of the heart,” his Vedantic claim that outward creeds are secondary to an inner spiritual harmony, and his conviction that humanity shares a single moral root. The study situates these ideas within Tagore’s practical pedagogy at Santiniketan/Visva-Bharati and his critique of aggressive nationalism in favor of global citizenship. It then maps convergences with contemporary agendas—UNESCO’s intercultural and interfaith initiatives, the UN’s World Interfaith Harmony Week, the Sustainable Development Goals, and recent policy advances promoting enlightenment and religious tolerance—highlighting implications for education, media literacy, interreligious dialogue, and peacebuilding. The article argues that Tagore’s synthesis of Eastern (Vedantic) and Western humanist traditions, his ethic of love and compassion, and his human–nature concord offer actionable guidance for cultivating a culture of tolerance, inclusive civic identity, and ecological responsibility. It concludes that Tagore is not merely a historical voice but a living resource for renewing universal human solidarity amid digital fragmentation and ecological risk in the twenty-first century.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the emergence and influence of modern concepts that appeared at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries on the social, political, and intellectual life of the Turkestan region. Using a qualitative historical-analytical method, the research examines how modernist ideas—originating in the Muslim world, particularly from reformist movements in Egypt, Turkey, and India—were adapted by local intellectuals and Jadid reformers to promote social transformation. The study draws on historical documents, scholarly works, and reformist writings to assess how modernization affected education, law, political thought, and national consciousness among the peoples of Turkestan. The results show that the spread of reformist thought led to the rise of new educational systems, increased political awareness, and the development of socio-religious reforms that bridged traditional Islamic principles with modern rationalist ideas. The study concludes that these reformist concepts played a key role in shaping the intellectual and cultural revival of Turkestan, laying the foundation for national awakening and modern identity formation in Uzbekistan and Central Asia.

Abstract

The philosophy of science provides a crucial bedrock for developing and executing scientific endeavors, particularly within the field of management science. This article conducts a literature review to analyze how the core principles of the philosophy of science specifically epistemology (the study of knowledge), ontology (the study of being/reality), and axiology (the study of values) are applied in management research. Epistemology offers direction on ensuring validity and selecting appropriate data collection methods. Ontology assists researchers in grasping the fundamental nature of organizational reality. Axiology guarantees that the research is conducted ethically and yields important practical contributions. The study also identified several frequently employed methodological approaches in management research, such as positivism, post-positivism, and mixed methods, illustrating the significance of scholarly paradigms in interpreting the intricacies of organizational settings. The results of this analysis have significant implications, including the potential to foster new paradigms in management science and providing actionable guidance for constructing research that is more valid, relevant, and ethically sound. In conclusion, the article argues that the philosophy of science does more than just establish theoretical foundations; it actively enhances the quality of management research, leading to academic work that offers meaningful contributions to both scholars and professionals in organizational settings. Thus, it is advised that the philosophy of science be incorporated into research education and training to enhance the relevance and influence of future research results.

Abstract

This paper posits that the Ottoman Empire’s decline was fundamentally rooted in a profound intellectual crisis, a deeper malady beneath its political and military failures. Employing an Ibn Khaldun-inspired civilisational lens, we argue that the empire entered a terminal phase marked by epistemological, institutional, and applied stagnation. The analysis traces this trajectory through poignant symbols: the state-sponsored destruction of the Istanbul Observatory in 1580, which extinguished empirical research; the deliberate delay in adopting the printing press due to religious and guild resistance; and a vast knowledge gap evidenced by a 1:38 library volume ratio with France. This intellectual closure crippled adaptive capacity, transforming a once-dynamic culture of integrated learning into a system of rote repetition and doctrinal rigidity. The empire’s eventual collapse serves as a stark historical lesson on the non-negotiable role of a living, questioning intellectual tradition for state survival, with urgent implications for modern nations struggling to build resilient knowledge ecosystems.
