Abstract

ABSTRACT Learning in modern times has undergone significant development. The learning process is no longer teacher-centered but student-centered. As educators, we must be able to design learning materials that align with the advancing technology. Currently, if learning is only teacher-centered and presented with theoretical explanations, students tend to lose enthusiasm for engaging in the learning process. Therefore, audiovisual media, in the form of educational videos, can support active, meaningful learning and foster high enthusiasm for learning. This research aims to: 1) describe the level of student enthusiasm in learning through audiovisual media, and 2) identify the impact and student interest in audiovisual-based learning media in educational activities. This study was conducted at SDN 22 Banda Aceh. The research type is descriptive qualitative, using data collection techniques such as direct observation, interviews, and documentation. The research results show that learning dominated by lectures tends to cause students to lose attention and become disengaged. The results indicate that: 1) after learning was presented using audiovisual media in the form of educational videos, three out of four students were very happy, enthusiastic, and engaged in the learning process with the help of the educational videos, while only one student showed less interest. 2) It can be concluded that audiovisual learning media is capable of fostering student enthusiasm in elementary school education.

Abstract

As one of the Adiwiyata schools in Banda Aceh city, SDN 27 Banda Aceh is very focused on waste management in the school environment. Teachers invite students to minimize the use of waste, especially plastic waste which takes a very long time to decompose. Teachers invite students to the Final Disposal Site (TPA) for waste located in Gampong Jawa, Banda Aceh City to see firsthand how workers at the TPA manage waste starting from sorting waste according to the types of waste and processing it into organic fertilizer, biogas, or waste that can be resold such as bottle waste, plastic waste, cardboard, cans, iron and others. In the Real Action activity, students collect waste in groups and then sort it according to the type of waste. The main focus of this project is on plastic waste. The plastic waste that has been collected is cleaned, dried and cut into small pieces and then put into plastic bottles until full and solid. This activity is known as Ecobrick. After all the bottles are full, they are glued, painted and covered with plywood or board on the top side to be used as a table and covered with cloth as a table mat to make it more attractive. The work that has been made is used as a table in the reading corner in the classroom.

Learning is an interaction that occurs between students and teachers as well as open source materials in the learning environment. The aim of this research is to apply the PBL model based on the GASING method to increase the mathematics learning focus of class IV students at SD Negeri 14 Banda Aceh. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documents. The results found after the research was carried out were that there was an increase in student focus which was seen with students being able to understand the abstract concept of whole numbers into concrete concepts, students could easily understand the differences in numbers (units, tens, hundreds, thousands, etc.) just by distinguishing colors. Ice cream sticks can help students develop their creativity during learning. Learning succeeded in increasing student focus as seen from student responses during learning. This research makes an important contribution in the field of education. this research emphasizes the importance of creating an effective and enjoyable learning process. Focusing on interactions between teachers, students, and relevant learning media allows students to increase their understanding of abstract mathematical concepts to become more concrete.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the potential integration of local wisdom values of Lubuk Larangan in Citizenship Education (PKn) learning. As a tradition of community-based resource management, Lubuk Larangan reflects various educational values, including mutual cooperation, social solidarity, ecological awareness, compliance with customary norms, and social justice. The study used a literature review method to analyze the relevance of Lubuk Laranganvalues to the concept of ecological citizenship, local wisdom-based learning, and the principles of Pancasila. The results of the analysis show that Lubuk Larangan can be a real example in building student character education, strengthening the relevance of PKn learning to the local context, and supporting the achievement of the Pancasila Student Profile dimensions. The integration of Lubuk Larangan in PKn learning can be done through a contextual, project, and value-based approach, which allows students to develop critical thinking skills, collaboration, and environmental awareness. In addition, this tradition can be used as a means to strengthen legal awareness and students' understanding of the importance of environmental sustainability. By presenting local wisdom of Lubuk Larangan in PKn learning, students not only gain conceptual understanding, but also real experience of the relationship between traditional values, customary law, and citizenship. This study recommends strengthening local wisdom-based curriculum, teacher training, and developing creative learning media to support this integration. These findings contribute to the literature on culture-based learning and the importance of strengthening citizenship education that is relevant to the local context. Keywords: local wisdom; ecological citizenship; educational values; customary norms; character education

Abstract

This research aims to explore the implementation of inclusive education in elementary schools in Indonesia through a qualitative approach. Inclusive education in Indonesia, which requires students with and without disabilities to learn together in the same environment, still faces various challenges in its implementation. This research uses in-depth interviews, participant observation, and case studies to collect data from various stakeholders, including teachers, students, and parents, in several elementary schools in urban and rural areas. Research findings show that although there is increasing awareness of the importance of inclusive education, the main challenges faced are a lack of training for teachers, limited facilities and infrastructure, and gaps in understanding of the concept of inclusion itself. On the other hand, the research results also show the positive impact of inclusive education on the social and emotional development of students, both those with disabilities and those without. Students with disabilities showed improvements in social interactions, while students without disabilities became more empathetic towards their peers with special needs. This research suggests the need to increase training for teachers, provide adequate facilities, and increase community and school awareness about the importance of implementing effective inclusive education.
