Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) method on improving student learning outcomes in the subject of Natural Sciences (IPA) in classes VIII-1 and VIII-2 at SMP Negeri 2 Mesjid Raya Aceh Besar. Problem-Based Learning is an engaging alternative in the context of education because it creates a more interactive and contextual learning environment. In this study, we examine various literature and academic sources discussing the implementation of PBL in education, focusing on how this model can enhance student engagement, conceptual understanding, and critical and creative thinking skills. The PBL method encourages students to solve problems relevant to the real world, allowing them to connect theory with practice. Through this literature study, we have collected and analyzed data from various studies demonstrating that implementing PBL positively impacts student motivation and academic performance. The results of this analysis indicate that students engaged in problem-based learning show significant improvement in their understanding of basic IPA concepts and problem-solving abilities. Thus, this research concludes that the application of the PBL model is not only effective in enhancing student learning outcomes in junior high schools but also contributes to the development of character and 21st-century skills that are essential for students. This study is expected to provide recommendations for educators and educational institutions to consider the implementation of problem-based learning models in classroom instruction.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of inclusive education and inclusive tourism in Gedepangrango Tourism Village, Sukabumi, with the aim of reducing socio-economic disparities and supporting sustainable community development. Gedepangrango, which has a rich cultural and natural heritage, has the potential to develop inclusive tourism, but faces challenges in accessibility for the community, both in terms of infrastructure and educational facilities. This study aims to analyze how inclusive education can improve access to education for all groups, and how the synergy between inclusive education and inclusive tourism can support local economic empowerment. Additionally, this study identifies major barriers such as limited resources, infrastructure, and public awareness. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, participatory observation, and document analysis. The results show that although initial steps towards the implementation of inclusive education and tourism have been taken, further development of more accessible infrastructure and increased public awareness are crucial. This study recommends enhanced training for educators, the construction of more disability-friendly infrastructure, and a more inclusive approach to tourism in order to reduce social disparities and strengthen long-term economic resilience in Gedepangrango.

Abstract

The study aims to analyze the demographic characteristics and trends related to assessment methods and research themes of TPACK among pre-service biology teachers from 2019 to 2024. This research employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The identification and selection of articles follow the PRISMA protocol, utilizing academic databases such as Scopus and Web of Science. The search strategy incorporates relevant keywords and applies eight inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulting in the review of 23 articles. Data extraction is followed by thematic analysis. The finding reveals that the demographic characteristics of studies on TPACK among pre-service Biology teachers shows a variation within a global context with a concentration in Asia and Europe. The research identifies five major themes: (1) The effectiveness of TPACK-development courses in enhancing TPACK competencies (13%), (2) The role of reflection and self-assessment in TPACK development (22%), (3) The integration of TPACK into lesson planning and challenges in real-world application (39%), (4) The influence of cultural and geographical contexts on TPACK development (9%), and (5) The relationship between personal characteristics and successful TPACK development (17%). These findings provide insights into emerging trends and gaps in TPACK research among pre-service biology teachers.

Abstract

This research analyzes the impact of social media use on the behavior of fourth grade elementary school students. This research is qualitative research with a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. This research collects secondary data from various journals and related literature. The research results show that social media has both positive and negative impacts on student behavior. Positive impacts include ease of access to information, increased creativity, and support for social interaction and learning. However, negative impacts such as impaired concentration, decreased quality of direct interactions, potential for cyberbullying, and exposure to inappropriate content were also found. In an educational context, collaboration between teachers and parents is very important to direct the use of social media wisely, in order to minimize the negative impacts and maximize the benefits. This research recommends the need for intensive supervision and digital education for elementary school students to encourage positive and responsible use of social media.
